Hope you're right. Like Eddie Einhorn much more than Uncle Jerry.

Lots of men try real hard to accomodate you. That's why our life span is six years shorter.
-
I want that $7 to $9 job right now!
-
I don't want to see teams micromanage the players lives but it has to be made clear to them that it's the 21st century and this sort of thing is no longer tolerated.

Les Moss! That name is a "blast from the past". One of the first baseball cards I got as a kid.

Someone here will correct me if I remember wrong but here goes. Jimmy Piersall did the Sox games with Harry Caray in the late 70's and early 80's. The greatest Sox broadcast team IMO. Jimmy was shall we say a little volatile and temperamental. Gallas I believe was writing for a suburban newspaper at the time. He wrote something Piersall took offense to whereby he proceeded to choke him to near unconsciousness.

Buehrle has been so so. That's not good enough if you are the "ace". The season is far from lost. One god outing and he could go on a long roll. The Sox are struggling now but the starting pitching is not the weakest link. Hang in there with Mark rafacosta, he should be OK over the long haul.

I think you're right. You've got to make the change when there's still hope.

Maybe Jimmy Piersall had the right idea many years ago.

Whoever wrote this it is a mixture of libertarianism and 19th Century nationalism. Libertarians want to go isolationist in foreign affairs but they would allow unlimited immigration. At least that's how I interpreted it when I read their web site. It doesn't matter, liberals ripped Bush for his interventionist policies and these ten points will be savagely ripped as well. I don't agree that isolationism would necessarily destroy our standard of living. There would be some painful adjustments at first, but the multinationals will never never let this happen. For a variety of reasons the US will remain a big player in world affairs. Not always to our benefit.

I do too. Our first president said to steer clear of "foreign entanglements". It was a far different world when he said that in his farewell address but many times I have felt that he might have been right all along. I have been preaching until I'm blue in the face about "energy self sufficiency" since the mid 70's. We need it now more than ever. A large part of the world feels that it hates us. f*** em, let them live without us for a while. As far as the UN goes, It's close to worthless.

Right. He's not a green 20 year old kid. It's time to give him his opportunity like Crede finally got his. Using Crede as an example of your point is a bad idea. He was at the minors much longer than anyone wanted to him to be down there. They waited until he was clearly ready, instead of rushing him. OK maybe two slaps on the wrist for me. Not a perfect analogy. I keep hearing the "not ready" tag on Borchard. Correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't he 24? He has a ton of raw talent. I know he strikes out a lot. We have struggled in CF. I agree with BMR, the up the middle positions are very important. At least I think so. Rowand to me is a 4th OFer. Rios is not the answer. It's wide open for Joe. I hope he gets a shot and I hope he does it. That's all I'm saying.

My Gawd! That sounds like Nightmare on Elm Street!

with no statistical evidence, I would think you are right, the rate of incidents seem to be increasing - and alcohol is oftem a factor in a cou8nty in SW Michigan we had a judge drive his car into the bar, and then drive off. That he was a judge may explain wy he was recognised - he claimed that he did not leave the scene, he merely went looking for the bar's owner - and that when the cops found him at his home 1.5 hour later, his blood alcohol level was becuase he had a few drinks afterwards, he had not been drinking until he got and no alcoholo in his system when he hit the bar and drove off.... wonder if he'd buy that story as a judge from a defendant? A judge in Pittsburgh got drunk in a bar on the city's East End and then proceeded to drop his trousers. It was the final straw for him, he'd had a number of incidents including alleged drunkedness while presiding over some cases. The Disciplinary Commitee finally kicked him off the bench but he's getting his pension which is more than 80-85% of wage earners make.

I was afraid of something like this. He's a real good hitter when he's on. I like his swing. Is this arthritis? What is is it? Perhaps it's fixable. Hope so because PK should have a long and productive career.

Hows So Cal sound, lol. The LA area now has over 16 million people. Some have suggested that it can support 3 teams. The Riverside-San Bernadino area is being touted for a possible team.

It took me back to my childhood. "SI I'm going to kill you!" Heard that a few times.

If you've been a fan as long as me the list is long. I always knew Foulke would be a stud closer for the A's. I just hoped Koch would be the same for us. Hopefullly he will be. Singleton was ripped a new one on every Sox board I visited. I always liked the guy. You know in their hearts both guys loved it last nite.

I like the advice cw and steff gave you. Remember fate has a way of giving you an opportunity to get back. It may be on the mound and it may be somewhere else. Be ready and take advantage when it happens. Now I'm not talking about anything rash or stupid here involving violence or something that will get you into trouble. Your a smart kid, you'll know when you get that opportunity.

As of Sunday the White Sox have averaged 18,290 a game placing them 11th out of 14 in the AL and 23rd out of 30 in the major leagues. The NL average is 25,364, the AL average is 24,582. The average for all Major League teams is 25,000. Major League attendance is down 4.8% from the same period last year.

Ok. I'll just sit in my seat and mind my own business.

I always thought that Jim Hougans book Secret agenda and Colodny and Gettlins book Silent Coup absolutely put Woodward and Bernstein to shame. I know very little about the U of I professor and the research he did, maybe someone here will educate me.

I live 470 miles away. That's about to change to over 800 miles away. Nevertheless I hope to make a trip in Aug and catch a game or two. Perhaps I'll finally get to meet ("meat?) one or two of you in the Bullpen cafe or some such. Hopefully the Sox will be real live playoff contenders too.
