I definitely would never patronize that business again, but in some ways it's better to know where they stand on those kind of issues. I would rather know they're a bunch of homophobic idgets so I don't patronize them and give them my money, than the unkowingly give bigots my money. I still think it's absolutely mollifying that we have this kind of discrimination in 2007.

The long and winding road There has to be a twist I rode my motorcycle in the rain. flirtin with disaster He's going the distance Gonna eat a lot of Peaches And I was standin' on the side of the road Standing in line, marking time, waiting for the welfare dime Then I saw her face The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes A brown eyed girl in hand me downs Blinded me.....with SCIENCE She was the best damn woman I had ever seen Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds She ain't exactly small 42-39-56 BABY GOT BACK! She knows she got everything a woman needs to get a man, yeah. One Bourbon, one Scotch, one beer.I don't wanna touch you too much baby 'cuz making love to you might drive me crazy Cause southern belles are hell at nightI'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride Cowboy take me away Slob on my knob, like corn on the cob Lie back and let me unlock you I've got a brand new pair of roller skate, you've got a brand new key She's a super freak, a super freak, she's super freeeeakaaayyyyyy Why don't you come with me little girl, on a magic carpet ride? You aint seen nothing yet But with a magnifying glance, I just sort of look her over. Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing And I fell in to a burning ring of fire Burn baby burn! - Disco inferno! Burn baby burn! - Burn that mama down, yoh! Yeah Im hot blooded, check it and see Feel the fever burning inside of me Lord amighty! I feel my temperature risin' I'm so hot for you and you're so cold Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart Let's get together Before we get much older. Because I'm turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Walking on thin ice, I'm paying the price For throwing the dice in the air. You're as cold as ice. You're willing to sacrifice our love I see a little silhouetto of a man, Scaramouche,scaramouche will you do the fandango- Turned cartwheels cross the floor Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind I'm so dizzy, my head is spinning. Ride a painted pony let the spinnin' wheel spin. And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like Jellyroll Everybody must get stoned That Ain't no way to have fun, son Some people claim there's a woman to blame Young girl, get out of my mind My love for you is way out of line And they called it puppy love Tonight's the night for you to hit it doggie style If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down Where it all ends I can't fathom, my friends. If I knew, I might toss out my anchor. I just spent six months in a leaky boat, lucky just to keep afloat. Call for the Captain ashore Let me go home, let me go home The captains tell they pay you well. But How ya gonna make some time when all you got is one thin dime? Time is on my side, yes it is. Time everlasting, time to play B-Sides. When they know they have you, they really have you. Haven't you noticed the days somehow keep getting longer. It won't be long 'til Summer comes, now that the boys are here again. And if you let me cool you one time, you'll be my regular stop. Oh the dashboard melted but we still have the radio. Hey mister DJ, I just wanna hear some rhythm & blues right now On the radio, on the radio, on, on the radio. Dancing in the moonlight, everybody's feelin' warm and right. Well it's a marvelous night for a moondance There's a girl right next to you, and she's just waiting for something to do. Wild thing...you make my heart sing...You make everything groovy. Sing, sing a song, make it simple to last the whole night long I'm singing this note 'cause it fits in well with the way I'm feeling. Boy, you sure took me for one big ride and even now I sit and I wonder why. Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids But Mama, that's where the fun is. And she'll have fun fun fun til her daddy takes the t-bird away. Well, I ain't been home to see my baby, in ninety nine and one half days. Click bang! What a hang! Your Daddy just shot poor me. Bang bang, he shot me down. Bang bang, I hit the ground. I shot the sheriff, but I swear it was in self-defense Mama put my guns in the ground.

I also predict that between winning (which I think is obvious it will happen) and releasing her albulm, Jordin will drop 20-30 pounds.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 16, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) Its a shame our national rail system sucks so bad. We need to take some notes from Europe. Some individual cities have good systems, but Amtrak is a mess and a half. With all the added pain in the ass of air travel, and high gas prices, Amtrak should be booming, but isn't. Now is the time to get that system working efficiently and intelligently. For intercity travel, particularly regionally, it should be a main source of travel (Acela does that, but its the only one that works at all right now). Preach it! I wish some candidate would talk about this on the campaign trail.

QUOTE(Texsox @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:31 PM) If anyone is up for hypotheticals, tackle this. How would America be worse off if suddenly everyone was driving smallish, lightweight, 4 cylinder cars and motorcycles? I know I miss the comfort of my big Dodge 10 cylinder pickup, but I haven't used $100 in fuel for one day since I got rid of it. My dad has some huge ass GMC truck, but he needs it for work (he's a contractor and it pulls his work trailer). So, I genuinely feel bad for him. But when I'm driving to work or the store and I see people driving SUV's that hold 6-8 people, but there's only 1 or 2 people in it I'm annoyed. I drive a little Corolla and every week I have to put in about a half a tank. If you need a big car for work, that's one thing but I think the grand majority of Americans could VASTLY downgrade their cars if they wanted. I echo Nuke's sentiment, be more frugal with your car choices or stfu about high gas prices. In Europe gas prices are STILL higher than what we pay, but they don't b**** nearly as much. Instead they all limit driving, take public transport when available and drive SMALL SENSIBLE CARS. As for drilling in Alaska, I would gladly pay $4-5/gal to avoid that. I really think we need to really start thinking about beefing up our national public transport systems. I think that should really be examined.

QUOTE(NUKE @ May 16, 2007 -> 10:04 AM) This is pretty much the same thing I've said about high gas prices all along. If you wan't to drive the big SUV, that's great ( I own an SUV ) but don't come crying to me when gas goes up and you have to pay more to fuel it. That's hypocrasy and it also runs contrary to my beliefs about personal responsibility. I thought you had a stratus?

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ May 14, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) Depending on the state you're in, gas stations are required to price at a minimum or a maximum. I can tell you that in Michigan, it is common for stations to sell gas at a one or two cent per gallon loss. In New Jersey, they can not price the gas below their cost and they are only allowed to change prices once in a 24 hour time frame. There was recently a news piece on this. Somewhere in WI the Dept of agriculture told an owner to raise prices and drop senior citizens discounts. Link.

Did he marry her for love or hotness?

QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 14, 2007 -> 11:36 AM) The only reason why I don't think he has too much of a shot is because I think there's going to be some dirt come out on him (from *AHEM* Republicans - but not really) about two weeks before N.H. and Iowa. Then, some more will come out right before super-duper-pooper-super-mega-win it all-you can't possibly lose this- Tuesday... the Clintons aren't stupid. And, I will add that I think this is what's wrong with politics today. It's not substance, it's about keeping your nose cleaner then the other guy (or gal). Even if it was about substance I don't think Obama could win. I think he is all surface and avoids taking hard stands on anything so he can pander to the middle. Plus, there's something about him that I just don't trust. At least with Hillary you know you're getting the HBIC (head b**** in charge), but with Obama, I have no clue what lies beneath the smoke and mirror stuff.

QUOTE(jheath160 @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:19 PM) At this point, I'm really not sure anymore. I'll most likely stay a dem...but on a very local level, the party is rotten. I'll pre-empt Kap's response here: They're all rotten and corrupt to the very core.

This is not a question people on a message board can answer. Which party do you agree with more ideologically?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 10, 2007 -> 09:25 AM) All I saw last night was when Barry Gibb came out to sing. Holy flaming monkies from Hell was that bad!!! It was everything I expected it to be. My sister and I were on the phone with each other in hysterics laughing it was so bad.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 9, 2007 -> 01:49 PM) Last night completely blew. They all sucked. Bad night for BeeGees tunes. My pick: LaKisha to go. Is there ever a good night for BeeGees tunes?

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 7, 2007 -> 10:20 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?s=...t&p=1411371 Hmm, I don't buy that beef hormone thing. I live out in the East Coast now, and back home I was shorter than most of my guy friends, but here I seem to tower over them. I think a more likely reason people are taller in the midwest is because our ancesters were taller (Germans, Scandanavians, etc).

QUOTE(knightni @ May 7, 2007 -> 04:45 AM) Keep going guys/gals. I'd like 100 height/age replies for a decent sample size. Can I ask what you're up to? I am intrigued.

Illinois, Minnesota, New York (I also spent summers, at least 2.5 months, in WI for several years). I've lived in Montreal and Aberdeen Scotland too for a bit.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 6, 2007 -> 05:11 PM) While Karen really isn't a huge player on the show, her leaving would change EVERYTHING, at least I would have to think. IMO, Karen stays=No Pam and Jim Karen goes=Pam and Jim start up again. To be honest, I think I might like the show a little better without the Pam/Jim/Karen stuff. This last episode was fantastic, and there really wasn't much of the relationship stuff going on. I agree (about the no Pam/Jim/Karen stuff), I actually think the weakest part of this episode was the exchange between Pam and Karen and Michael at the mall. It was so forced and stupid.
