  1. Valentin was always regarded as a hard worker. He was pretty good for us for a couple years who could play multiple positions as well. I will definitely always remember the cubs walk off and sosa impression.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) Basically, Garland is Batman. Buehrle is Robin. By far one of the most underappreciated players ever. Garland is still one of my favorite players and I will cheer for him for a long time. He always got ripped around here. Just like anyone on the 05 team especially him coming through that year I will always remember him for that. Those back to back shutouts he tossed in the regular season were very enjoyable to watch. I also agree, he should have been rated a little higher.

  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 12:53 PM) I'm mailing in my 60GB today because it is broken. Is Sony charging you?
  5. QUOTE (BobDylan @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 10:52 AM) I'd stay away from the 60 gig models if I were you. Those are the cheapest build and have the most problems. If you can find a 20 gig model anywhere, jump on it and replace the HD. Really? I actually bought one yesterday. Where have you heard that from? I bought the 60 because of the emotion engine so I can play my PS2 games with no problems since my PS2 sucks. The 20's don't even have wifi, flash card readers or PS3 emulation...
  6. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) She's ugly She has a great body. Not curvy, but nice and maintained, but her face screws it all up... I'd still hit it.
  7. OMG! This is so shocking and saddening. I can't believe I'm about to type this... RIP Bernie... you'll be missed.
  8. You guys wanna hear my crappy PS3 story? I went to buy one the other day used and the guy tried to ripping me off by selling me a 40GB unit when he said it was a 60 like I wouldn't know how to tell...
  9. Javy is a waste of talent. He is at best a 4th starter. He s***s the bed anytime we need him. I thought after last year he might put it together being on the same team for a couple years and having a good year and stuff... nevermind.
  10. FM Transmitters are junk. You get a lot of static and if you're driving long distances, which you will be, you will have to change the stations over and over. Finding a clear one to use is the annoying and time consuming part. I have the DLO Transpod which is a few years old and it works good compared to others I tried. The iTrip really sucks. I eventually got a new radio with the Aux. I know Alpine stereos have a special plug that charges and plays the ipod if you're looking to go that route.
  11. I've always been a fan of Gio and that ballpark will help him put up some good numbers if he's decent.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) Honestly, who lets a young pitcher like JV go 130 pitches? Dusty Baker...
  13. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his aggressive actions during the incident, which included making contact with Umpire Tim Timmons, and for his comments following the game. Guillen will begin to serve his suspension tonight, when the White Sox host the Detroit Tigers. Link It's funny, the umpire was the one making contact with him.
  14. What are some good multi-player games for the PS3, aside from sports games? I'm finally going to pick up a PS3!! Also, I don't know if it makes a difference because online is the way to go these days, but does the offline multi-player suffer?
  15. Statistics aren't telling the whole story for the comparison though. The number don't look bad because of how we were doing early in the season. The past 2 months our ERA has gone way up, our quality starts have gone way down, our errors and defense has been piss poor and I'm sure our OBP has gone down. Everyone on this team aside from a few players has been crappy the past 2 months. That is why the whole percentage of making the playoffs and all those stats are basically meaningless. They estimate chances by how the team is playing at that time and if they continue playing at those succession rates. I still believe this team can make the playoffs, but all indications are it won't go far. BTW, I'm not trying to aim this post at anyone. Just my opinion.
  16. As Ozzie stated earlier in the season. He has a purpose for his rants even if he makes no sense. He protects his players. I hope these guys play with a little fire. Especially after getting embarrassed and lost first place because of KC.
  17. You know what makes seeing Richard get rocked so bad? The Twins have 3 rookies in their rotation. We can't ever get 1 of ours to just be a 5th stater.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) I guess the counter-argument I'll make is this. If Konerko can't majorly recover before the end of this year, then right now we're a better team than we were yesterday. Masset wasn't doing anything and hell, with the way Carrasco is pitching, frankly when Liney comes back from the DL we'd be wishing Masset had options left. Getting better for this year cost us $2 million in cash. Losing Richar stings a little because now our middle infield is weaker next year. But if the team has some confidence in Getz, or spends some money to make another SS/2b happen (Uribe is available next year right?) then that is a manageable loss. But...if we're smart about the arbitration deal...and Griffey doesn't retire, then either we've added in another bat for next year or we add in 1-2 draft picks in the late first-early 2nd round. I'd be ok with turning Richar and Masset in to 2 draft picks just on the face of it, let alone any upgrade it does bring the team. Good points. How much more time does PK need to be benched? I don't think Ozzie will do it. Even if he does I would have liked someone a bit better in the OF if Swish does go to 1st and Griff to CF. It sucks losing Richar not only because he makes us weaker in the infield, but we also gave up one of our top 10 prospects in Cunningham for him (although that may not say much). I don't mind seeing Getz get a chance though. I actually think Masset can be a successful reliever. So I'm not so happy about losing him even though he has been having a rough time lately.
  19. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Don't you think he's pretty much earned himself a set-up type role though? I kind of do. The Sox really seem to like him. I think they'll end up using him a lot more than they used Masset. In 13 innings? He's barely earned himself a spot on the roster. Unless there's no one else available I don't want him up in those situations.
  20. I love Griffy, but were basically getting another Swisher for the remainder of the year. Can't play defense and a mediocre bat at this time in his career and we had to give up some guys who can turn out to be good ballplayers. It would be nice to have a good bat on the bench to hit lefties... he still isn't the answer. The only way I believe this turns out a decent deal is if one of our sluggers goes down for any amount of time.
  21. QUOTE (Linnwood @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Joe Cowley says: http://twitter.com/cst_sox/statuses/872974106 What a surprise. Ozzie doesn't have the balls to bench his captain whose hindering the team enough on offense.
