  1. I don't care about Sauer starting as a reliever then becoming a starter, 50 to 1 K to BB, how the hell doesn't he get a all-star nod? That is whack, plus more than one K per 9 inn. WTF
  2. Dane reached 91 MPH on the scouting video, but also looks like he uses more arm than legs. Re-work his motion to use more legs, and let him develop, probably throw harder. Other report has him higher which is good. Definitely a tough sign, but I like the value here and the risk. Show him the $$.
  3. From NC State's state site. Apparently committed to them, looks goo, but prolly a tough sign guy.
  4. Sox take Dan Black from Purdue. Lots of power, good walks, lots of Ks as a first baseman. Also hit .310, maybe Jack Cust-lite? He's also a switch hitter.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:59 PM) Callis flat out knows his s***. He's just running off facts without a sheet in front of him. Callis is also the nicest guy around. Prolly bragging, but have him on my radio show at school bout twice per semester. Also see him around where I live and have talked with him. Super super nice.
  6. LMAO at Buehrle laughing at the small bru ha ha
  7. Start the comp round already.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) The later rounds are much, much deeper than the first round. Besides the top 3-5, every pick is a crab shoot. Even top 5 is. The whole draft is a crapshoot. The best player in baseball was a 13th round pick. And numerous No. 1s flameout.
  9. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 07:07 PM) First 111. But MLBN is only airing the first round. The rest will be on mlb.com In a Hawk voice: Thank you very much.
  10. Is it just the first 32 picks today?
  11. Jerry Owens II. Yay! Or maybe Carl Crawford II. Hope the latter.
  12. Gibson is the prototypical Twins pitcher. Strikes and great makeup.
  13. Mother crap. Both my Mizzou guys to rivals. f***.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) I think Gibson might go here, its about the only place he'd go, otherwise I see him falling outside of the top 25, maybe even the 1st round, although the Cubs might go the value route on him. Pollack is a definate possibility as well. He's a big Cub fan, so that would make Gibby happy.
  15. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) I'm not crazy about Arnett, I hope we stay away there. I want him. Guy pumps gas and pitched well in an underrated Big Ten.
  16. Per usual, the White Sox will get the opportunity to pick up one of the best players in the draft with a low pick. But, we won't pony up the $$ to do that, per usual.
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Well done Soxtalk. 3 of us predicted Crow to Royals. Kinda hurts me. He's such a stud. Damn. I am pissed. Can't root for him like I was going to do.
  18. Glad they took Turner. He could be good, but I don't think he is going to be great. Played against weak competition -- very weak.
  19. Apparently, in the MLB draft, you can pick no wrong, according to the MLB Network people. Jeez. Be opinionated and say it was a reach already.
  20. If the Tigers pick Crow, I will puke.
  21. The only way they could be making a profit is if North and the rest of the hosts are making nothing, which is very possible right now. I don't even listen to sports radio that much because I have TV and the Internet. I don't need to listen to some morons (B&B) telling me that my opinions are wrong. If I do listen, it's Waddle and Silvy or Carmen, Jurko and Harry.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) Castro's a FA after this year. Then maybe it will happen, still leaves the team pretty bad defensively at that position, but I guess we've been this way for awhile so mind as well just make it an offensive position.
  23. My guess Sox put Colon on the DL for fatassitis or just fatigued arm.
  24. Leroy Smith, the most influential influence of MJ.
  25. Dayan just had a 12-pitch at-bat and then walked. That what I like to see.
