I can finally post in this thread. I have watched all the episodes the past 5 weeks and now ready to watch live on TV. So excited, it's such a great shot. ABC's online player is awesome. Perfect quality.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 21, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) To take over for Leno Go Letterman.
  3. QUOTE (SnB @ Feb 21, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) they're good Huet has a chance to win the Vezina next year, no exaggeration. With this offense's scoring power, the continued improvement on the D and his move into the full-time goalie, he could win it. His GAA this year has been great and its gotten better with the playing time.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 21, 2009 -> 12:54 PM) Anybody know why Rose played so little in the 4th last night? He ended up with 26 minutes, but with 7 players dressed (hunter doesnt count), he should see way more time than that. just Vinny holding back the future of the franchise again? Hinrich and Gordon were playing well together and they kept extending the lead. No need to change up the lineup when they were doing so well last night.
  5. Bulls looking real solid tonight. The thing I hate so much about where we are is that I obviously want them to win, but you know we are just one-and-done with the Celtics, Magic or Cavs looming. But as far as I am concerned, I have had enough of draft picks (I can't imagine we get so lucky this year in the lottery), so I would rather be one and done in the playoffs than have a draft pick 2-3 spots higher.
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 20, 2009 -> 06:58 PM) God I hope Drew Gooden passes his physical. He alone would make me nervous about this.. The Kings main reason for obtaining him is his expiring contract. So his injury issues shouldn't be a concern.
  7. Damn Ring of Death.
  8. Great win for the Hawks. Really hunkered down that third period and got three goals. Huet was fantastic tonight.
  9. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Feb 19, 2009 -> 05:04 PM) Viciedo looks like a football player, just goofing around with a major league baseball team. Bears could use a D-lineman or two.
  10. The thing you have to love about Poreda is his calm demeanor and intelligence. In the interview he did with Baseball Prospectus, he just seemed to be one of those good guys who wants to learn and be coached. I've already heard Coop say he wants him with the big league club to teach Poreda the final few things. I think he has a greater than 50/50 shot to make the roster in some capacity. It also important to note many pitchers have started as reliever than transitioned to starters at the ML level. Halladay had a mix of starts/bullpen appearances with the Jays in 1999 and 2000, Santana did it and lots more have to. Just getting him the big league experience with the big league pitching coach for one year might be worth it.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 11:29 PM) I wouldn't hate him. Fatherhood > baseball. Although he'd be pissing away another relatively easy few million, but to each his own. Buehrle isn't quite the average major leaguer when it comes to money. Sure he got a lot and I am sure he enjoys having it, but he seems pretty frugal. I can just picture him on a big ass farm hunting quail or something with Crede.
  12. Quote of the day - "I think they got him so I wouldn't' be the fattest pitcher on the staff." - Buehrle on the Bartolo Colon signing. Gotta like Mark.
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) I think we were still in first place during this game. Wow, that season fell quickly. Actually a half-game out at 17-11.

That was crazy. I am not sure whether he was high or what. He comes off as a total jerk, was that intentional? I am so confused on his appearance.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) Tyrus has been a double double machine lately. Noah is a good rebounder. Limits the other team to one shot. Trade value keeps rising at the most opportune time for both. As much as I think Tyrus or Noah could flourish as a pure defender with Amare, I would still give both up for him.
  17. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 12:06 AM) I saw you once or twice, but did see the guy in the black KKK costume quite alot. It was actually a pterodactyl costume, but I can see how you could get confused. We were right underneath him.
  18. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 12:01 AM) If you guys have a stairmaster machine at the gym, get your ass on it. Keep eating that protein and drinking water. Water is your friend as you piss out the bad stuff. In terms of snacks, sunflower seeds(non shell) and baby carrots are a wonderful idea. It is also good to have 3 meals, and have 2 more snacks throughout the day. If anyone wants a good workout regime, im your guy. My story is, I have lost my six pack under a pound or two of flab...(damn alcohol). I work out for a good 2 hours a day(perks of unemployment) and am trying to get my body back to its needed establishment. What foods can you recommend for healthy eating, but still allows me to pack on the muscles? Cottage Cheese. High in protein/low in fat. Cliff Bars. Zone Bars.
  19. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 12:02 AM) retro sox hat, next to a guy with a cubs hat? Yep! Apparently we were on quite a bit.
  20. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 11:49 PM) Very similiar to a game a few years ago, big lead and blow it at the end. That game featured Rush, Chalmers, Robinson and Kaun as underclassmen. I think that ended up just fine. I dont complain about refs, it comes with the territory of a conference road game. Collins hits one of the free throws down the stretch its a ballgame. If you saw a Sox hat on the TV during the game, that was me. Still sportin' the Sox at a Mizzou game.
  21. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 10:50 PM) Yeah he is tremendous on the boards and on defense. His offense is really taking a hit with the Jason mask. Hell of a game and comeback for Mizzou. Being on the court was amazing. I will say this about KU, their defense was much better than I expected and they got s***canned on fouls.
  22. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) So that will be your 2nd sellout of the year, nice Haha. I think first actually. Should be rockin. I am pretty sure we will split though. We win home, you win home.
  23. Jimbo: You guys are going down tonight!!! Getting the talk going baby! Mizzou Arena is going to be rockin.
  24. Good win for the Illini. Will probably keep them in the top 25.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 10:46 AM) The Boston Globe is reporting Abreu may have to take $3 million a year. In the same article: Orlando Hudson, 2B, free agent: It's amazing that a player of this caliber remains unsigned, but lining up are the Cubs, White Sox, and Dodgers. A few Cubs organizational people really want Hudson, but the impending transfer of ownership from the Chicago Tribune to Tom Ricketts may hinder GM Jim Hendry's ability to do anything until it's complete. I mean seriously, if Abreu only costs $3 million per year, wow. I really just want to sign and see what happens, but unfortunately unless you want CQ in CF, there is no room for him. I love Getz and think he can be a real solid ball player, but frickin sign Hudson for a year or something. His price tag is real low right now and he gives you a ton of flexibility. If he is willing to play CF, you can basically let Getz, Lillibridge, Anderson, Owens and Wise all battle for one starting job. If an infielder is the best in ST, Hudson plays CF, and if a OF is better, Hudson stays at 2b. Ideally, if Hudson can really play CF, I would love to see this lineup: 2B-Getz CF-Hudson LF-CQ DH-Thome RF-Dye SS-Alexei (gotta break up the slow horses in the middle of the lineup) 1B-Konerko C-AJ 3B-Fields That had great balance at the top with two solid OBP players who have speed, the bombers (except AJ) the rest of the way. Then you have a versatile bench of Anderson (can play all three OF), Lillibridge (all over), Owens (need a lefty) and a catcher. The Sox really do need a back-up first baseman, too. I have always felt this off-season, KW is gonna get some of the best bargains in FA because he has more patience than he has had in the past. But I'll bet the Sox bring in some more major league talent.
