Its Official Frank Thomas signs with Toronto
Well he gets to wear black cleats again. The contract doesn't look as brutal as it was originally stated now; however, it's still a lot for the big man. However, I hope he proves us all wrong and makes the contract well worth Toronto's investment. One cool thing I've seen in this week on ESPN is a poll asking if Frank was a first-ballot HOFer. It's cool to think, that that is now the question, and not the wondering if he'll make the HOF at all. Good luck in Toronto, Hurt.

So I went to Best Buy earlier today, there were like 10 tents there from the previous night. I never saw that in person; funny s***.

If Frank signs with Jays
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) I love Anderson, but take a look at Wells and his numbers. If Williams was able to get Toronto to do Wells for Garcia and Broadway, he should run back to Chicago, and find a really good hiding spot, because it would be a steal. I would do that too, as long as we could sign Wells long-term.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) That's why Thomas is expected to wait until spring. Either DJ will go or someone will leave. You got your wish Rex. Crawford has just signed, right before the early deadline ended.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) Well Kansas won't lose to an average mid major like Butler, not until the first round of the NCAA Tournament anyways. You're right; they'll lose to a below average mid-major like Oral Roberts. Karma's a b****, Jimbo.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) Welcome to the world of Kelvin Sampson I wasn't expecting us to even win the NIT or anything. s***'s going to take time. Everything's new for the coaches and players. As much as I was excited for this season, I feel completely clueless to how things are going to fare for us for that exact reason. So yes, you and your smartass comment is valid now. There's going to be bumps early on, but they won't be there by season's end.

f***ing pathetic. 16 fouls for our starters, a total of 44 in the game. You got to do better than that. I hope we never have to see the refs that were in Indy the rest of the season. I don't know if that's the way everyone's calling it now, but I've never seen more ticky tack calls in my life than in the last two nights. Butler deserves all the credit in the world, going through a tough slate to get to NY. I'll be pulling for them.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) That's been expected for awhile. Good to hear it's done. Also, DeAndre Thomas is expected to verbal to IU, but not sign until the spring, allowing IU to sign one more this fall. Thomas is a 6-8 270lb power forward from Chicago, currently playing at Chipola Junior College. I'm hoping that Jordan Crawford will still sign with IU this fall. FWIW, we only have one scholarship remaining, unless DJ leaves.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) me neither. and on the indiana game they just referred to it as the "bob knight situation." gmafb. I can't stand it, because it just gives Dicky V more reason to rant about Knight, as he doesn't do enough every time he does an IU game.

As a ND fan, how does that make you feel, considering they lost to Michigan big time? And for the record, I'm a casual ND fan.

I don't even know how to summarize that one, except to say Calloway is studly. IU wins Sampson's first game 91-66, and will play Butler for the rights to continue on to New York in the Pre-NIT.

Dane Cook, "not funny"? or even plagarist
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Same here. The whole mass bit... I liked him, but now his material just isn't as funny. I guess it happens. We'll hear about him about as much as we hear about chris rock soon enough... I'll go one step further on the hijacking and say that I'm appreciating south park more and more... Agreed about South Park. My one complaint is that I don't get why their season's so short. I guess this week's the season finale? That was like a 5 episode season.

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) you're failing to see that this isn't just a one player recruiting class. Zook has put together 2 good classes already (top 25 last year) and is continuing to do that. The talent level team-wide continues to grow. You're still going to need a good coach though. Recruiting is only part of the deal (see Ron Zook at Florida (where he was able to pull in even better talent, b/c it was Florida) and Mike Davis).
