The Regular Season Dynasty is 7-0. The other worthwhile regular season game on our schedule is next Sunday night at NE. -
Dave Roberts looking like a strong possibility

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Is Eduardo Perez a FA, because he kills lefties. Or LeCroy, as a first baseman/pinchhitter I don't see us needing another 1B option w/ Kong, Thome, and Gload. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 05:26 PM) You better believe it and I'm in that group. Okay Hawk. -
QUOTE(tigerfan @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 08:26 AM) I actually kinda disagree. We were sort of like the 04 Cardinals in a way. We hadn't been there in years, just like they hadn't, we had a lot of young talent as they had, and we just got sort of distracted I guess. We'll be back there again I'm sure. Who knows maybe we'll do what the Cardinals of this year did soon. The AL Central (and the AL as a whole) will have to have a HUGE drop off if 83 wins qualifies a position in the playoffs. The Sox finished with 90 wins, good for the 6th best record in all of baseball. All that did was give us 3rd place in the division. So that's a gynormous maybe.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) I think that hoody is pretty cool looking. Yeah, I loved our parade stuff too. I ended up with a hoody AND the t-shirt of that design. And congrats CardsJE15! -
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) Jordan Crawford, a 3-star PG out of Hargrave Military Academy in VA was scheduled to visit IU today. Supposedly, IU and Xavier are currently his top two choices. I've been reading up on him, and he's someone I would really like to see the Hoosiers pick up. He'd probably be a four-year player, and fill a strong need. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) No, it is not Eric Gordon. I'm pretty the Illini staff would never take Gordon back onto their roster anyway.... Yeah, Gordon to IU is final. He was at the football game today and the scrimmage after the game.

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) Kellen Lewis is the s***. One more win and the Hoosiers are bowl eligible. Lewis gets better with each week, and he's got 3 more years at Indiana. Him and Hardy are really starting to click also; things are definitely looking solid. -

A lot of you seem to be harping on their regular season record. Remember all the injuries this team suffered (Pujols, Mulder, Eckstein, Edmonds, Reyes, etc.) They did a damn good job surviving to get to the playoffs. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) Well I expect the entire Tiger pitching staff to suck next year because they pitched so far and so deep into the season. At least that is what we were told about this years whitesox. Hopefully watching this makes the whitesox want to vomit, and gives them the desire they lacked this year. Lets go and f*** them up next year. Congrats to the cards, next year we reclaim what is ours. I thought the Indians were supposed to be great this year too. I mean that's what everyone said. That's why they play the games. What it looks like on paper doesn't mean s***. -

The White Sox f***ed themselves. You can say we could've beat anyone in the playoffs all you want, but it didn't happen and we didn't get there. That's no one's fault but the Sox. The Cards did what was necessary in the regular season to make sure they made it to October, and they got the 11 wins they needed. They're the champs. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) I said this in the other thread. Can I ask why when there is a cinderella story in the NCAA tourney, everyone loves them, but the Cards pull off the huge upset in the playoffs, and its horrible... Good point. And in MLB you could say the most deserving team wins it, as opposed to college basketball. If you have one off night in basketball, you're done (I'm not saying that's a bad thing). However, in baseball you have to prove it night after night through three series; the Cardinals deserve the trophy.

Baseball has no reason to be embarrassed. They made it to October, and they played some great ball through out the month. Congrats to STL. -
I have to say the WS hats are uglier this year. We lucked out there, but I could be bias.

Congrats Cardinals!

That's cool with me. Now get the rest of your Big Ten preview up! We've got exhibition games next weekend.

We have the power over where he plays this next season, but you can't feel good after reading that. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) If Shines does a great job in 2007, you will be lucky to see mention of him anywhere on this site. If he sucks, get ready for 10 or 12 threads about it. That's just comes with being a base coach. Yep, I don't remember one Cora thread in 2005.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) I highly, highly disagree and to be honest, that's a theory that a lot of people have that really bugs me. I really don't feel like getting into a big argument over this right now but the best team will usually win the World Series, I'll just leave it at that. You're just mad b/c WH is going to be right from that argument you guys had way back at the beginning of the season.

That second clip in that of the Poison dance has been viewed several times over here. This year, Scrubs has reached Seinfeld status on my TV.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 26, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) It would make a lot of Illini fans hypocritical if Rose chooses Illinois. And honestly, I don't think it is that farfetch'd. Everyone and their brother knows Weber has continued to recruit him since he took Illinois off his list. With that said, does anyone else get the feeling that Rose simply does not want to play with Gordon? I could see that. Like with the Gordon situation, I haven't really made my opinion on Rose. His scenarios obviously different, as no one really can have a sneaking suspicion on where he may end up right now as he's only given a list of schools. However, I'm not sure I'm going to be upset either way right now on the subject of him coming here or not. He'd be a great get, and would make our recruiting class even stronger. However, I have to admit all the rumblings of the stuff his brother is doing in the recruiting process has me nervous also, and I wouldn't be mad to not have to worry about that dirt at all.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 26, 2006 -> 08:50 AM) It will only get sweeter as time goes by, and some of the younger fans realize exactly how special and unique something like a world title is. I hope you all really soaked it all in and enjoyed it for all its worth. It definitely has gotten better with time. I don't think it seriously hit me until the playoffs started this year, and we weren't there. I was finally able to understand what those teams were trying to accomplish, and what we did accomplish.
