  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) Why would the owners get together to talk about it? Get together to talk about the GM's that pay these players, the GM's that the OWNERS hired... I think you're half right there. The GMs do all the grunt work to get to a contract, but the owners still pay them. And I'd imagine they usually have the final say on any deal. Remembering past quotes, that appears to be the case with the Sox, and I'm sure that's got to be the norm.
  2. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) Is ND out of the BCS bowl picture with last nights loss? They are ranked 10th in the new BCS standings. Can you post the rankings, I've been looking for those. Thanks in advance.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) I've never been a big fan of the matchups. Maybe I am biased, but IU always seems to get s***ty matchups because they are the Big Ten's biggest TV draw. Even when they are picked to finished 5th or 6th in the Big Ten, they get one of the Big Three in the ACC. Yeah, the closer we get to this game, the less I like our chances. Hopefully we make it a game though, and give ourselves a chance.
  4. Copy and paste the link of the video. Right under the smileys, there's a pull down for post options. And just turn HTML on (it doesn't matter which one). And then it should appear.
  5. I liked the poll idea, however you're only allowed three questions on a poll, so we couldn't fit all the games into one poll/thread. I can see Michigan beating NC State Monday night. That would require the Big Ten to get five more wins in the next two nights. I don't see us winning more than two on the next two nights. It's frustrating how the Big Ten can never win this thing.
  6. Those actually look like some sweet matchups; hopefully everything can hold to that.
  7. I remember socks equated to "coal" from Santa, when I was younger.
  8. College basketball is going to be such a cluster f*** this season.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 12:40 AM) Brady Quinn is by far the best pro prospect QB in the country, but he's not the best college QB, big difference. Agreed.
  10. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) Greasy, your ring is now up to $30,200 with 7 days left in the auction. You in on the bidding yet?? Of course, I'm the top bidder. Butler had to play on three consecutive nights, with the NIT concluding last night. They're now 7-0 with a 2 OT win over Kent State 83-80. There's no doubt that they should be ranked on Monday; I hope they can maintain this.
  11. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 09:18 PM) I know its IPFW. Way to support your hometown team, douche. Heh, I went there for a couple classes my senior year of HS.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Looks like Illinois getting a game early from Bradley. Greasy, why arent you at IUPUI@IUPUFW? Because I came back to Bloomington today, and it's IPFW. They're rebels.
  13. QUOTE(danman31 @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) The next poll should be loaded with mid majors. It's interesting that this year all players are forced to go to college and mid majors are still progressing forward. It makes sense, as the teams in big conferences are going to get a lot more people that are trying to jump early or w/e, while mid-majors are going to have guys all four years.
  14. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) isn't this one of the better years to sit on our hands? look at the contracts being thrown around, they're going to regret those in a few years. Exactly.
  15. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 24, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) not a good early season for the big ten so far. indiana, minnesota, wisconsin, iowa, penn state all going down to mid-majors. expect that list to grow. Well Indiana lost to the NIT Tip-Off Champs, who also beat Gonzaga, Tennessee, and Notre Dame. If that's got to be our bad loss, I'll take it.
  16. Man, the market is getting so f'd this offseason.
  17. Good stuff; welcome to the board!
  18. QUOTE(beautox @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 09:25 AM) GMJ the second coming of Mo Vaughn? Mo Vaughn put up decent numbers the whole time he was in Boston; GMJ got hot before his contract was up.
  19. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) BCS isn't perfect, but i don't want anything more than a 4 team playoff (even then, who's 4, etc? still controversy). If anyone wants to go to 8 or 16 or whatever else, i will stick with the BCS no matter how bad it may suck year in and year out. Honestly, that's all I want, is a 4 team playoff. There will always be controversy (see bubble teams in March), but at least a lot of doubts will be erased, when teams legitimately have to earn their trophies.
  20. The regular season doubling as a "playoff" isn't working, if this discussion is even occurring. There shouldn't be this many doubts about the system.
  21. This whole thing is just a mess, when you're having to determine who had the best loss. That's why the BCS is a piece of s***. The two best teams should be in the championship game, and right now, the two best teams are OSU and Michigan. However, it's not fair to expect OSU to beat their rival twice in a month span. And if Michigan wins, it proves nothing, as the two teams split games. The BCS just needs to go.
