It's not even like it was assured that the hand pee-er was going to catch it anyway..... Bartman got f***ed. -
I think this playoff run has assured that the sox wont be getting him.... I think that this explosion has gauranteed him 17-18 mil. He's the best player in the game right now....
-
Beastly you dick.... i just f***ing had a mild heart attack.... ugh

Furcal would be the one player i'd most like to see on the whitesox. he solves sooooo many of our problems... but it's a pipe dream.
-
I'd rather see Uribe at short than a stop gap.... and a stop gap for who? who's gonna be there after the stop gap is gone... perdo lopez?

Tomorrow, We Are The Biggest Cleveland Fans
MurcieOne replied to 3E8's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
At this point.... I dont give two s***s anymore who wins. Im beaten by this sox team. Go Bears, Go Bulls, Go Blackhawks (well whenever the step on the ice again) -
Why is that a problem? He's not ancient, infact this should be considered his prime. I dont think anyone is saying he is a long term solution at the catcher position, but could be a nice stop gap until we do figure out who is going to be there for the next 3-4 years. Im a big Jamie Burke fan, he's versitile as well - can also play a nice first base when needed. I think to expect him to bat anywhere near 300 is crazy. I think a nice .270-.275 average is not to lofty to expect, I mean this guy can swing the stick, not an easy out imo.

Right around the time the sox got Escobar, I think i kinda lost my fire for them and didnt watch as much. Can some of our very well versed sox aficianado's inform me about this player. I heard he was BA's top prospect awhile back, and never panned out.... (where have I heard that before.) If you guys could give me an overview of how we got him and his strengths and weaknesses it would be much appreciated.

If he goes to Mexico and comes out Adam Dunn, I'll be the first one in line to eat a load of s*** for giving up on him, because I have, but I just see a defeated kid with a slow bat and running out of options. Good luck Joe.... and if u do break out, please eat as much chocolate as possible I have a sweet tooth.

Last night after the debate it was 52/47
-
I think whatever K record Dunn just broke add about 15-20 to that and you got our boy Joe. I think this kid could go an entire year in the .170-.180 he's that slow with the bat. Sorry folks, but for that big bonus we only got some nice feelings of possibility and little more. He's really not good, sorry.

STONE IS f***ING RIGHT! I've never seen a commentator be SOOOOO right about one team! The cubs are the model for wasted talent, I believe he used the phrase "at the end of the day dont tell me how choppy the water is, just make sure you bring in the boat." The Cubs were the biggest bunch of f***ING BABIES THIS YEAR. They worried waaaaaay to much about useless s***, and focused little on the games and a astute broadcastor had enough balls to call em out on it. f*** you cubs - The truth hurts dont it? I honestly wish the cubs fire stoney and the sox find a way to get him in this organization somehow.... I really honestly believe he is good people and the cubs really dont appreciate what he brings to the table. He's corny and whatnot, but the guy has a pair and that pisses people like Moises Alou off.

I really pains me to say it.... but it was another year where Jon Garland put up his usual stats..... 12-11 and an era under 5. I mean as bad as he's pitched during times this year.... he still ended up having a normal year for himself......its a real f***ing pisser.
-
That I agree upon. Maggs is the s***... I love him, but the prospects for his return are quite bleak..... I think I should also add to the griffey idea... I would assume they'd have to find a way to make Cincy eat some of that salary. With the Reds desperation to get rid of the albatross around their neck I think they'd consider it. I think they'd want a pitcher in return which i wouldnt really want to give up.... so I guess I wouldnt really want to make that deal. I think Jon Garland would be the guy in question and thats too much to give up for Jr.
-
well the i was basing acquiring him on getting rid of Frank Thomas.... therefore losing his salary and allowing him to DH and hopefully play 140 games.
-
If Frank Thomas wasnt on this team I'd definitely look into acquiring Griffey.... Have him play RF and DH alot.... he'd be a niiiiice addition.

The General public doesn't make decisions based on stuff like that? What would you call the Howard Dean meltdown speech? The public is very superficial and it's a shame...

I dont really get the whole thing where Poland is some type of Joke..... I mean there part of the EU and slowly but surely becoming a power in Europe. Granted they're not a major power like France or Germany, but their nothing to just disregard..... sorry I just dont get it. But the DailyShow made fun of that comment so it must have substance right? (regardless of that last comment I do really enjoy that show.) On top of that, the polish population is quite large in the United States....so to disregard Poland is political mistake.

Thats because all the media polls said Kerry won, I would hate to think people's opinions were given to them and not formulated on their own....
-
I DO understand that appearance definitely counts for something when people decide who was better and Bush was a stumbling, bumbling, and innarticulate.... but I really feel sorry for anyone who would totally base their opinion just on that. Kerry's arguements were often wrong, and he even contradicted himself a few times. Kerry may have been a more coehesive speaker.... but my god LISTEN TO WHAT IS COMING OUT HIS MOUTH! It was complete garbage. edited: Do was replaced instead of Don't... that was a mistake.
