  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) He's a career .246 hitter. He has a track record of drawing walks and hitting for power, but he has no such record of being a good "hitter". huh? Hitting isn't all about your batting average, it's about how many times you do not make outs and then when you don't make outs what you do with those hits. It's why OBP and SLG are more important to me than avg.
  2. Downs threw 5 strikes and 7 balls including a 5 pitch walk to OC to lead it off, and Ozzie has AJ bunting right away
  3. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) And 2x as much money, 1/2 the HR's, equivalent obp, less RBI's. I'm still taking swish over that clown. And Swisher has a track record of being a good MLB hitter over the last 2 years which Fukudome does not
  4. You have got to be kidding me. Ozzie if you have an overwhelming need to bunt you now have 3 catchers, put someone in who might have a clue how to do it
  5. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) If only we could have got Fukedome. sighhhhhhhhhhhh his OPS+ was over 125 the last two years
  6. got one run back at least. Need to lock them down and hope they can scratch out two more
  7. I hope Cooper and the Sox really wanted Overbay to beat them there. I can't see the splits so I won't go crazy
  8. he's at 79 through 5, so definitely one more inning, hopefully 2 more strong innings
  9. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 01:19 PM) Stone was talking on the radio the other morning that he felt that Harden's health really screws up the whole rotation and pitching staff and that the cubs may not pick up the option because of it. I see where he's coming from, but he is so good when he's healthy and he should still be cheap. Bring him in basically as your 5th starter and prepare for it like that
  10. I know there's talk he wants to play on the west coast, but I think the NYY are just going to blow him out of the water with an offer
  11. was an OK PPV. I really enjoyed the Henderson fight, he had a great strategy, implemented it and won. That KO of Chuck was Cro Copish, he went dead limp and didn't move for minutes. He's probably not done (he would have to retire, I'm sure the UFC will give him another match). It will be interesting to see who he fights next. Do they do a superfight with him and Anderson Silva? I would guess they would give him a redemption fight with Jardine. The WEC was postponed from Wednesday until November 5th due to the threat of Ike. Next fight night is September 17th before the season premier of The Ultimate Fighter. Early October until November 15th will have a lot of MMA. Begins with the Kimbo/Shamrock card on the 4th of October on CBS, then the 2nd Affliction card headlined by Arlovski/Barnett on, I believe the 11th, UFC 89 with Bisping/Leben from England which will be free on Spike on the 18th, then UFC 90 in Chicago on the 25th, the WEC on November 5th and UFC 91 on the 15th of November with Couture/Lesnar and possibly Wanderli/Rampage.
