  1. He might be talking about the last game in the Seattle series, but that would be a severe delayed reaction or some seriously slow typing
  2. wow, good news for the Sox, of the White variety, but sucks for the Red Sox and Beckett.
  3. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) A couple of clinics I worked at had me sign a non-compete clause that I could not open my own clinic within 10 miles. I don't know if it could've been enforced, since I didn't want the hassle of starting my own clinics I really didn't care. non-compete clauses can be valid, during law school we studied them. There is a test that applies to see if they are valid, I will fire up my old laptop tonight and see if I can find my notes
  4. sorry if this is answered, but is there a "Member No. 1" and if he's found and killed, do we all die?
  5. FWIW, sherdog.com is running rampant with rumors that Randy and the UFC have come to an agreement and he will be main eventing UFC 91... Again, it makes sense that this happens since the UFC could drag out the court case and effectively end his career, but I still have a hard time believing this is true, when someone like Meltzer confirms it I will believe it Also, anyone else going to UFC 90 at Allstate? It was a complete cluster F for tickets and I got my presale limit, no extra as of yet, but if I do I will post here.
  6. QUOTE (The Critic @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) I KNOW - THEY COULD CALL IT......THE BROOD!!!! I can guarantee you Gangrel would be down with that
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 28, 2008 -> 03:12 PM) It's interesting that he threatened to quit several times apparently, but the Sun-Times always backed down and gave him what he wanted. If the new information on why he quit is true (and it sounds like it is), he was probably shocked they accepted his resignation and is upset/unsure what to do next. That's solid. I think the deadspin article that says he tried to do ATH supports that. If he had some huge revelation about the future of sports media and decided the Sun-Times wouldn't work for him anymore and he was planning to resign, it would be logical for him to call ESPN and tell them to set up an alternative location for that days shoot. Sounds like he had a hissy fit, went too far and Sun-Times jumped on the golden opportunity.
  8. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) Deadspin has quite an interesting reason why Mariotti quit http://deadspin.com/5042479/thats-it-world...-the-final-time that is such a sweet picture of him
  9. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 27, 2008 -> 08:39 AM) I was surprised at how candid Hawk was yesterday during the short segment of the game I caught. He was talking about this feeling of his that we'll lose the division by one game. No talk of whether he thought we'd reach the playoffs, but it was surprising to hear. What disgusted me was what followed, where he basically conceeded the late September games against Minnesota in Minnesota. DJ commented that "we'll have to be three ahead entering that series" and Hawk is suggesting four. This is EXACTLY the type of crap I hate, and that we talked about at length awhile ago. This idea that is felt by Hawk/DJ, and no doubt the players, that Minnesota is an unstoppable force at home and "we just play bad there" excuses losing. It better stop, because you know that series will mean something. Oh, and with this game, I'm just going to assume it's a victory unless Danks implodes of the offense becomes HR swing happy. It'll basically be us beating ourselves. Baltimore almost seems like they're purposely trying to lose. We've had two of the same type of pitcher on back to back days, faced Cormier in Day 1 of the doubleheader, and now they're throwing this f***ing scrub at us. It's not only that attitude with Hawk and DJ, it seems to me with KW and Ozzie there's an unecessary woship/felating of the Twins org. Look, I'm impressed by the talent they continue to produce and compete with a lower payroll, but it seems KW and Ozzie overdue it with their compliments to them, eh who knows, I could just be overly sensative.
  10. http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/6536/124/ Cena getting surgery today
  11. Looking forward to The Office and Bones. Yes, Bones. I admit it's a cheesy lame show, but it's a guilty pleasure. I don't watch a lot of dramas or sitcoms anymore, there are a few that interest me, just forget about them. Chuck has always interested me, so I may DVD that one. I like a lot of the shows on Discovery, Travel, Food network, etc... also a big fan of Penn & Teller's BS, and that's got a new season going now
  12. Good win, took advantage of some mistakes. I love AJ, but I think Swish should be batting in the 2 spot
  13. well, need to shake that odd game off and win the scheduled game
  14. Cherry has 11 balls and 11 strikes, whoever comes to bat better take one
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 08:07 AM) We won't try to. It will be a different kind of games. I agree with you. I don't think any of the cities in the running can, or are even promising, what China gave.
  16. Ken Shamrock will fight Kimbo next.... http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/shamrock-...-at-slice-14185 complete dud from the MMA aspect of it, but extremely good business move. Shamrock still has some name left and I predict this doing very solid ratings (which Elite needs, they are bleeding money). If I had faith that Shamrock's ego wouldn't have him try and bang with Kimbo, I would give Ken a good chance in this fight since he has quality submissions, but I don't see him trying to take this down to the mat.
  17. Great sweep! I think the Ms were one of the better hitting teams since the ASB, and Sox pitching held them to 8 runs for the series and the BP wasn't taxed.
  18. I really hope BA gets another shot at being a full time player, seems like it won't be here, but the guy has talent
  19. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) How did no team try and trade for Ibanez? I think people asked about him, I seem to remember the D'Backs being talked about, but Seattle was asking a ton for him
  20. Sox shouldn't waste pitches to Ichiro and let him take first
  21. WEll, didn't PK either tie or surpass his career high in SBs? He's a speedster this year
  22. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) Rofl, balk There was a comic about 10 years ago called "Overboard" and one of the strip's punchline was "Women, women, women and the balk rule, 4 things I don't understand" It still cracks me up to this day because I agree with it.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 20, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) A's strand a runner at 3rd in the 6th They had him on 2nd with nobody out
