  1. One more out for Lance to get here, Sox better be 100% sure that they want Guillen batting here
  2. hopefully Oz has DJ up and ready, don't let Lance get smacked around this inning
  3. come on, let's give Lance some breathing room for his 5th inning
  4. looked like another good inning by Lance, get him one more, but have Carassco warmed up
  5. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) LOL @ THESE UMPIRES. Nice non-call there to Buck on the check swing. What a laugh fest. was it the one with the Village People "old west" mustache?
  6. How old is Alex Gordon? It's his full second year if I'm not mistaken, has he shown some potential? (Sorry, I don't watch a ton of KC baseball)
  7. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 02:10 PM) This is some f***ing ugly baseball right here. I have an odd feeling it's going to get a whole lot uglier too... I'm not talking Rangers/Red Sox ugly, but still, I think it will get brutal
  8. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 02:05 PM) Swisher should be starting and Griffey and Konerko should be platooning. Swisher's versatility should get him the consistent at-bats. I again will state that Broadway's day is nice regardless as the defense has let him down. I agree with you 100% about Swisher getting the vast majority of ABs between those 3
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) I know he gets on base a ton, but then why does Swisher get ripped on here so much? To have your AVG at .258 a week ago and now it's under .250 is a shame. BTW- guess what I'm eating? Cooooooooooooookie Crisp. I like Swisher a lot, but his numbers are down, and his OPS+ is 100, which is average, also his slugging is a lot lower than Jim's at .412. Still, Swisher tore it up in June and is playing CF basically full time. I expected more from him this year, but hopefully he will continue to see a ton of pitches and contribute down the stretch
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) Cy Peralta is warming up. Way to go Thome, your BA is back under .250. http://www.baseball-reference.com/t/thomeji01.shtml coming into today, OBP .371, SLG .511, OPS+ 129...
  11. awesome job JD. CQ is getting a ton of deserved MVP talk, but JD should be getting some too
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) MLB reports show Adam Dunn going from Reds to DBacks And maybe affecting the Sox, but especialy the AL East, is word that Evan Longoria in on DL with a fractured wrist so who does TB go to now? I think they just put Crawford on the DL as well... interesting development there
  13. http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/6357/105/ some bad news for some of the members here!
  14. Brewers winning 3-1, looking to gain a half game on the Cubs and I believe they are 3 up in the Wild Card. Cubs need to win that division, they play so much better at Wrigley, it would hurt to take the WC and have to play a best of 5 series at AZ/PHI/NYM
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3529966 ESPN.com now reporting it (not that always means 100%, but a good source). Well, that team needed a bat and he's a high OBP guy also. This can't be well received in Dodger land or for the Cubs/Phillies/Mets/Brewers. This team may back into the playoffs, but if their rotation stays healthy they are tough out in a series
  16. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 02:32 AM) Eh, GSP didn't get the TKO so i'll take 2.5/3 But man did GSP look fantastic. Right now he's 2nd in my book of best p4p guys, they need to make Penn/GSP happen for the new years card. Lesnar looked a lot better this time around. Kongo also looked a lot better this time around, this is another matchup i'd make. Emerson with the crazy KO over Manny, Florian showing that Huerta wasn't quite ready for that level of competition and Maia putting on a technical clinic. Overall, it was a fun card. Enjoyed it very thoroughly. I agree, card was entertaining. GSP looked great, but he's probably #3 for me behind Fedor and Anderson Silva. If anyone says the ground stuff is always boring, show them the first round of the Maia/MacDonald fight, it was exciting. Wow, Lesnar has a chance to be completely dominant, he is huge and athletic, and I will give props to Heath for taking an insane beating.
  17. QUOTE (juddling @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) FWIW..... Wrestlezone, courtesy of pwinsider.com, can now confirm that the following talents have been released from WWE as of today: -Shannon Moore -Nunzio -Domino -James Curtis (Formerly KC James) -Referee Nick Patrick No information has been given concerning why these 5 names have been released, but we will continue to update this story as we receive more news. Is Domino Snuka's son or is it Deuce?
  18. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 11:57 AM) This is my latest article, "The Happiest Man on Earth," a profile of a Cubs fan who invited me to watch the minor league game at Wrigley Field with him last Tuesday. To quote my editor, I have "unearthed a Cubs fan who gives all of Cub Nation a bad reputation." Rat Arnab is quite the character, and I think you will enjoy reading about him and the game as much as I enjoyed writing about them. tell your editor those aren't all that hard to find
  19. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) So long as he keeps hitting the way he has for the past 2 months, I don't care where they pitch in so long as he can keep producing. Him and OC are the 2 players who come to mind for me who have really rebounded fantastically after very slow starts. He's struggled a lot this year, but Swisher's OPS+ in June was 172, that is doing some heavy lifting for a month... http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/bspli...1&year=2008
  20. I was in Honolulu during the MLB championship series and college and NFL. I didn't see one sportsbar that showed a ton of stuff, but the MLB games were on live as was a few of the football games.
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 6, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) She's ugly I agree with you on this, good call
  22. Big Wunsch fan here! At Soxfest I got a game used jersey for less than it would have cost to buy a jersey and get the name on it. I still rock it at games... his appearance on this list has convinced me to wear it to Saturday's game
