    Memphis

Look at the ladies there, I was only there for one day, but they were fine looking!
  2. Cora and Cooper have to go to Danks and a selected bullpen arm and tell them they may have to wear it tonight if things turn ugly.
  3. thank you seattle!! Wow, Guerrier wearing it in this Seattle series
  4. Wow!!! That was tremendous!!!! SWISH!!!!!!!!!!!! (that will temper some of the posters if Gio throws a gem in is 1st outing) The bullpen!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Hat tip to Thorton, yes he gave up the 2 run HR, but he still did a solid job) Unbelievable and much needed!!
  5. darnit, Brocali throws a 1-2 slider to Soriano, HR, Cubs 10-7
  6. Tied up, but Wright got Soto to K, so 2 down runners on 1st and 2nd
  7. Astros bullpen has been good last few outing (Kasper gave a stat last night, can't quite remember it, but it's something like 7-10 innings of scoreless ball... hopefully that trend continues
  8. Brilliant move Lou!! Pitch to Carlos Lee with a base open and absolutely RAKES in Wrigley with Blum on deck... 2 run jack by The Horse, 7-6 Astros. I know it would have put the leading run onbase, but still, can't let Lee beat you there IMO
  9. the politics one are classic, I was dating a girl from Texas when the Meigs field bulldozing happened and she couldn't believe it and I barely batted an eye
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 11:15 AM) It's just too bad that the Rangers broadcast of the game wasn't on so I could hear Lewin going nuts. And also some possible good news, as Ortiz has wrist issues that possibly could make him miss this wknd's series. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3519949 Story on it. Nothing real clear on what it was, could be normal though. Tonight will tell.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 11:01 AM) I knew they would win the belts as soon as the match was announced. I liked what they were doing with Rhodes/Dibiase. This whole "Lets make two guys feuding tag champs" has been done so many times. Too bad the writers can't come up with anything original. The match is gonna suck cuz they both suck. They should not of crossed paths on Raw until No Way Out next year and faced at WM is the crap match. That Y2J/JBL vs. Punk match was very good. Would of loved to see Jericho/Punk at SS though. I always thought a good way to have two feuding wrestlers or tag teams be tag champs "against their will" would be in a ladder match for the belts have two feuding wrestlers or one member each of a feuding team grab a belt. I thought that would have been a cool twist when the Dudley Boyz, Edge and Christian and the Hardyz were feuding
  12. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 4, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) WEC was a fun card last night, worth a check out. So if you're able to get the tickets early either way, would you mind sharing with your fellow ST MMA lovers? with the buzz I'm hearing about the show, whatever tickets I can get I'm just going to buy the maximum I can, so if there are any extras I will post here first.
  13. http://www.mmapayout.com/2008/08/ball-in-u...fedor-vs-randy/ interesting article about how Randy v Fedor could possibly take place in the UFC. Nothing really concrete, but some quotes and logical conclusions being drawn. The site is well run and not just a rumor mongering site. It seems like if it is going to happen it would have to happen in the UFC. The UFC's last legal win in Texas (from my understanding it was a denial of HDNETs Summary Judgement) could make this drag out a long time, and at 45, Randy doesn't have a ton of time. Ultimately I don't think it will happen in the UFC. The UFC are really stringent about their policies and I just can't see them letting Fedor fight for them 1 time, and I doubt his camp would agree to some sort of one year U.S. PPV exclusivity or something like that. It sucks Fedor isn't fighting on the next Affliction card, Fedor v. AA was a fight I was looking forward too. Also Fedor tends to always fight in Japan on New Years Eve. So if he fights in Japan on NYE, he probably wouldn't fight on a US PPV until Feb or March of '09. WEC was good last night, Vs Network usually replays it a few times so it is worth searching for It's cool the UFC is coming to the Chicago Area. I read that tickets to the general public go on sale 8/18 and to "fight club" members on 8/15. I can sometimes get tickets to Allstate events early, if I can't get these I'll eat the $80 for access to the presale
  14. Thanks for all of the advice. Got home yesterday and had an absolute blast. Blarney Castle, while some may write off as over touristy, is really something to see. We did a ton of sightseeing, and the views are simply stunning. Dublin was great. We stayed in the Temple Bar area. Any local we encountered all over the country were great. Talked with a guy in a pub in Dublin for a few hours about the difference between US sports and European sports. The Jameson Experience in Middleton was fantastic, I was selected to be part of a taste test at the end. Guiness Storehouse is great too. Went to Durty Nelley's (sp?) which has been open since the 15th century and a lot of fun. Really a good time and a wonderful country. I took the advice and used my ATM, it was the best way to go as we met some people there who used the currency exchange at the airport and get a good deal less money than I did. Euro/Dollar conversion stinks, but staying mostly at B & Bs helped a lot, and they have those well regulated where the price is fair and they are very clean and plesant.
  15. last ten games both the Sox and Twins are 5-5 and that includes the head to head 4 games series at Twins. This won't be an easy division to win, but that series doesn't by any means spell the end of the sox
  16. good to see Bobby out there as well, and good job by Dotel. MB with the gutsy performance last night and the win today was big. Gained 2 on the Twins and kept Det at 5.5 over that series. The Rangers offense is dangerous, I won't panic about some of the average to below average performances in that series. Javy pitched OK in his game and MB was ridiculously good
  17. Good to see him in on time. I loved the draft pick, with him at LT and Tate at RT, it has the potential to improve 2 positions
  18. f*** Yeah, bobby you scared me, but way to lock it down. Good win, that helps salvage that series, keeps the Tigers at 5.5 and pick up two games on the Twins in that series. Awesome
  19. Bobby, you let Hamilton hit it 1000 feet before you walk him here
  20. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) Oh yes he did Awesome, I think they can be overdone, but that was a huge HR for the Sox, he deserved it. COME ON BOBBY!!!
