QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) minny has to face... cliff lee (1st in AL in ERA) james shields (9th) edwin jackson (T-30th) scott kazmir (would be 9th with enough innings) andy sonnanstine (T-30) Javy Vazquez (23) John Danks (5th) Mark Buerhle (19th) Have fun with that stretch If he thinks that Beckett is pitching for the Twins look out. Talk about a guy sacking up for a team. His last two starts against Beckett have been sick

Josh Fields to have surgery at season's end.
SoxFan562004 replied to justBLAZE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
hopefully the knee was the major problem and he can bounce back next year. http://www.baseball-reference.com/pi/bspli...2&year=2007 He had a real good september last year and it seemed like he was having more quality ABs too as far as taking pitches etc... -
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 07:47 AM) And 3 in the loss column which is really all that matters with 12 to play (and possibly 11 if we don't have to play the makeup against Det) I just saw the on top of the paper that the magic number is at 10. Hopefully Tampa Bay helps out a ton and the Sox take care of some business against KC. That Cleveland series is NOT going to be easy for the Sox

The Twins losing that game yesterday was HUGE, especially with Lee starting for the Twins today. I know the Sox pen has been bad lately, but that Twins bullpen has been a disaster, especially on the road.

The thing that should help him is the cooling of the weather. He's a flyball pitcher and hopefully the cooler weather will help keep somemore in the yard. Trust me, I'm not complaining about him at all, it seems whenever this team needed someone to stepup in the rotation he is the one who has done it.

Ultimate Fight Night tomorrow night on Spike. Headlined by Diaz v. Neer and a match I am looking forward to see, Danzig v. Guida. Usually the fight nights come through and they're free (if you have basic cable). Then the new season of TUF starts with Big Nog and Mir as the coaches

QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) man I remember when MTV not only showed videos, but the non-video programming they did show f***ing RULED. The State Dead at 21 MTV Oddities (The Head and The Maxx were awesome) Beavis and Butthead (Kinda cheating since it showed videos too) Liquid Television the ONLY good thing about MTV these days is Human Giant The Grim Reaper video with the Wolverine conversation is one of the funniest things I have ever seen or heard. For pure unintentional comedy don't undervale "True Life." The first show they did about the Jersey Shore with this guy named Tommy is roundtine.

I watched it in college since it was on when my classes were over.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) Maggs. Name another agent that will land a player in the DL with a very handsome contract? Would you rather have Boras as your agent, or as the agent for the team you are trying to land a contract with? If my only goal was playing for the Sox, I would not even need a agent, I could just take whatever contract they offered. If I remember right, the Maggs contract was amazing. I think Maggs had some sort of injury that very few baseball players have had, and it was very unclear on how he would bounce back.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:12 PM) Sons Of Anarchy was really good. Watched the first 2 episodes I had TiVo'd over the weekend. I like the show, but the Katie Segal (sp?) character doesn't work for me at all, it seems forced, almost like they beefed it up because she was a name. I will still watch it, sometimes when they establish characters they have to have a few forced scenes and I like the rest of the show a lot.

I may be a little off on this because I've been busy lately and haven't followed the games as closely as I like, but I still have a ton of faith in Jenks. Last two times he's been in to my knowledge he gave up runs, but they weren't save situations. I know it's not a great excuse, but when he starts blowing save situations and actually giving up leads, I'll worry

QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 03:38 PM) Well if Chicago wins the 2016 bid there may be an extra stadium laying around and I would gues that it would have a retractable roof. I may be ripped apart for this, but I think ANY new/refurbished stadium should have a retractable roof at this point. I think it's ridiculous that with Soldier they didn't either figure a way to put a retractable roof on or move to a location that would provide for one.

I text "white sox score" to 46645, it's a google service

http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/6705/ Meltzer says that the next Affliction show will be a co-promotion with Golden Boy and have boxing and MMA matches. The big news is that it seems HBO won't be a part of their partnership which, IMO, makes the partnership not that big of a deal

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) That would be rather fitting wouldn't it? The Cubs end up playing 84 home games and 78 road games, seems like a rather large advantage to me. I don't really see any other solution either. It would HAVE to be a neutral site like they did for the Marlins at the Cell when they played the Expos

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) I did not know that the Rays just took two huge last at-bat wins from Boston in Boston. Yeah, they beat Pappelbon (sp?) on Tuesday and after taking a 4-1 lead in, I believe, the top of the 14th last night Percival loads the bases in the bottom with no out and they still won 4-2

Introducing the "new" Oklahoma City NBA franchise

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) lol yeah, I like the Oklahoma Outlaws too, haha I don't know why I'm making up names for them, doesn't even matter anymore. Yeah, but if they ever have a rival, the "Okla-homos" is golden for the fans -
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3581523 There's no way they use Ike as an excuse to give the Cubs 3 more home games, right? I mean there's no possible way. Someone please talk me down here. I know that possability is not mentioned in the article, but I have this little nagging thought that MLB would do that. Please no. If that happens, the Astros better raise a holy stink

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) Nice, lets get back up 2 games. That would be sweet to lose only a half game when the Twins had KC at home and the Sox had one of the hottest teams coming in

awesome, thank you KC and thank you Soria for not adding any drama
