  1. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) I have a Sports PR class tonight at 6:30, and its probably 80% Cub fans. It will be interesting to see the turn out tonight. The kicker is my professor is a huge Sox fan, and will probably give out a paper to whoever didn't show up tonight, knowing it will all be Cub fans. I was in law school when the Cubs were in the playoffs in '03, one night professor was a Cubs fan, was quick and didn't take attendance, the Sox fan didn't penalize people for not being there, but the stuff he covered on the lectures those nights were heavily tested on. He didn't give us a heads up on it, so if the people who missed to watch the game made an effort to get notes they were OK, those who purely blew it off were screwed
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 02:34 PM) not sure who does philly radio, but im listening to them through gameday audio....and if i didnt know any better i would think hawk was announcing for them "where is that pitch? thats not low, not high, and its right down the plate" and "i dont know why dana demouth is umpiring this game. hes not a good game caller behind the plate. you have to have your best umps" and "thats already 2 or 3 blown calls behind the plate" thread jack/ easily my "favorite" Hawkism is when they show a replay of a close pitch and he yells "Where was that?" and me as a viewer can easily see that it was high/inside/outside or low.. /end thread jack
  3. Javy has to start this game, to have any chance to make a deep run Floyd, MB and Danks need to get on regular rest
  4. Awesome job Danks!! oh and Carlos Gomez, go f*** yourself you prick, I hope that scene you were making last week was worth it
  5. Awesome win, awesome job by Danks, that was unreal! What an up and down year! Have they given an estimated distance on Thome's homer yet?
  6. Awesome win! John Danks sacked up, and even a hat tip to Blackburn. I wish I would have seen a shot of Gomez, I'm sure he wasn't pumping his fist like a douche bag after BA caught the ball to actually win the division. What a regular season, what a game. Let's beat Tampa
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) I hope Cooper, AJ, and Danks have a gameplan for tonight, because if they approach the twins the same exact way they have the last two years with John, he's going to get hammered unless the twins come in here flat The natural grass at the Cell autmoatically is a gameplan for the Sox
  8. this will be the most pointless analysis of a game you will ever read, but I feel it will be a blowout either way, obviously I am praying it's a Sox laugher. I think an important key could be Danks pickoff move. I've never really noticed how he holds runners on? Any opinions?
  9. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) This news story sparked my idea for this thread: So, are you for or against term limits? This can range from local city officials all the way up to the president. That is a tough one for me. I certainly see the point in them, but it could backfire if they are too short, meaning there's just not enough experience to get things done. I guess I will go for them, but make them something like 12-20 years
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 03:41 PM) TBS no give a s*** bout them Twins. The White Sox were #3 on AOL's "Hot Searches" about an hour or so ago. Goddamn Lake Michigan coast bias!!!!
  11. search james franco on that website, he has some funny stuff on there...
  12. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:13 AM) Got tickets to see Oasis at the Garden on Dec 17 today for $60, and also am seeing Kings of Leon in Philly in November. That's how much my tickets were and they are very good floor seats. I was pretty happy with the prices
  13. I'm not an economic major at all, so I'm curious, what are your opinions that some "experts" are floating that we should just go the "hold your ankles" approach and let the market correct itself?
  14. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 10:30 AM) I'm so preoccupied with this game that I can't focus on doing anything this morning. It took me 20 minutes to make breakfast as I kept walking around in circles. Misplaced the coffee pot, found it in the fridge. Me too, very little to no work is getting done
  15. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 27, 2008 -> 04:31 AM) I saw them open for The Black Crowes, on the 'Brotherly Love' tour at Tinley, many years ago. They sounded like constant airport noise. Hmmm, I saw them there that night too, I had close tickets, sounded OK to me, but it is Tinley Park and I have very low standards for that sound. I just got 2 tickets to see them in December at Allstate with the internet presale. I'm excited.
