  1. And I'm saying there's more to life than hating the president. I'm not in the media, and when I was watching that speech live, I thought it was f***ed up. And no republicans pay me to say anything, though I wouldn't mind if they started.

Oh man I took Logic last spring. It was philosiphy 150 for me too. I thought it would cake, but some of it was so complicated I didn't get it at all. My test grades went 97, 48, 98, 47. The professor dropped the lowest grade for everyone, so I wound up with a B.
  5. Jermaine O'Neal calls the Pacers the best team in the league. It was a solid win by Indiana, Jermaine, but let's not get carried away.
  6. You forgot charlie horse, playing horse, and feeling ho(a)rse.

Greek Mythology and Civilization (gen ed), Natural Disasters (took it because there's five other people I know taking it), American Politics (gen ed), Contemporary American Society (whatever that is, took it because the teacher is easy and the class is at night), and Indstu-Film Festival (I've already forgotten what this is, someone told me to take it with them so I said what the hell). You can tell I put a lot of thought into which classes I take.
  8. Lately, early early morning like 4 or 5 am. Usually, afternoons.
  9. No, you see in all the past years he started in November due to the shorter season. At least, that's what the apologists will say.
  10. Oh I'm fully aware of what Wirtz does. Just reading this board for a few years has given me more than enough examples. But the bottom line is, whatever the cause, the team at this moment is not helping the image of the NHL. I am obviously speaking in the hypothetical, and I know they would never be contracted. However, she was putting the blame on other teams for hurting the NHL product, and failed to mention the Hawks at all.
  11. It's true, I swear by soda and junk food but I'm in fine shape. I also play video games, but exercise is essential and I'm probably underweight if anything. Just another sad chapter in the pussification in the pussification of America. Who was it that said pretty soon we'll all just evolve into giant asses with fingers?
  12. We do have a few populous states deciding the fate of the country though. Win California, Texas, New York and Pennsylvania and you are set.
  13. Given enough time, sure they might thrive. So might Atlanta, Nashville, Carolina and all the other relatively new franchises she wants to get rid of. But if you want quick results, in the here and now the Blackhawks look more like an AHL team than NHL.
  14. Career .346 OBP player, given up on by 3 teams now. I agree that it should have been Rios who got the boot, but I can hardly blame the Sox for getting rid of DJ. Like YASNY said, he was not exactly the headiest player. And winter ball means nothing to me. If he's re-focused, that's wonderful, but this team has more holes than just 2B that sit between them and a pennant; namely, seven pitchers.
  15. That's my point. That first statement should have been in green but I hate the whole green concept so I didn't use it. Don't think I'm being racist, because that's not what I meant at all. I was just making a wild observation, but an interesting one nonetheless. Iowa is probably one of the whitest states in the country, and like the cheat said it is a huge factor in deciding who gets elected. Same with New Hampshire. I can't help but wonder if it has anything to do with it, considering white people hold most of the power in this country.
  16. Yes, but somehow I doubt DJ is the difference between first and third place.
  17. Cause there are no minorities in Iowa. And anyway it makes sense not to be able to vote in primaries across party lines. Republicans could just vote for the fringe Democratic candidates and vice versa. Having the primaries in small states may be inflating one region's influence, but then again so is giving California 87 electoral votes or however many they have. The system is messed up, but damned if I know how to fix it.
  18. No way Rowand matches Carl's offense. No way, no how. Also, Garland is a question at the 3. 12-13, 4.51 era, 1.37 WHIP, that is nothing special. There are four good pitchers left on this team; Marte, Wunsch, Loaiza, and Buehrle. Politte COULD be good if he is more like 2002 (3.67 ERA) than 2003 (5.66 ERA). Same with Koch (3.27 vs 5.77). And how can anyone expect another career year from Carlos, now that he got his contract? There are so many ifs that people are banking on just to make the playoffs, it's amazing. Don't get me wrong, I want this team to win. I hope all these dream scenarios come true, but how anyone can look at this team can look at the roster 1-25 and tell me with a straight face that the Sox can beat the Yankees or Red Sox in a seven game series is beyond me.
  19. If most of the teams have been around less than ten years, then there hasn't really been an opportunity for them to grow any roots. If you give them time to develop, then things have an opportunity to change. The Hawks' home attendance average is fifth worst in the league. Behind Phoenix, behind Atlanta, behind ANAHEIM, and behind Florida. And their capacity percentage is second worst. They only make money because like you said, they spend none of it. So this is the formula the NHL should follow? Low attendance + no spending + no home tv contract? The Hawks shouldn't get a free pass just for being an original six member, they are as guilty as any team of dragging the league down.
  20. Ahh Ballmer, where have you gone.
  21. Why would you eliminate Anaheim, who made the cup finals last year, and not the Blackhawks who are an aberration of a franchise? What you're basically saying is that warm-weather fans can't like hockey. That's dumb. And the Whalers moved because they played in a SHOPPING MALL and nobody cared about them.
  22. Yeah Beltran isn't overpaid at 9 mill. I mean hell, didn't we just give Lee 7 or 8 mill?
  23. Nope. There's no way to know what the Pats would be like if they had Manning as a quarterback. The rest of the team always believes in Brady, would they always believe in Manning? Would Manning make as few mistakes as Brady, or instead go for the spectacular play and put the defense in bad positions all the time? Would Manning put up good numbers in the cold of Foxboro, with guys like Antwain Smith and Troy Brown instead of James and Harrison? You think you could just plug in Manning and everything would be the same, but I don't think so. You think the team suits the quarterback, but maybe the quarterback suits the team.
