I would never call the guy classy, he did what he had to to get by, but there's nothing classy about him. This is the same guy who argued with Spike Lee in the middle of games.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ May 16, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Book it Spiff, Batman Begins is going to be a solid flick! When Katie Holmes is prominently involved, that is pretty much assured!

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 16, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) So how does the "pace" of Arrested Development differ from any another show? no laugh track

I feel like I am pretty well tuned into pop culture and I have never ever heard of that Monster in Law movie. Could it be that I'm getting old (foreshadowing?)?

QUOTE(Cali @ May 16, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) Good News(for me): Arrested f***ing Development picked up. Proof that there is a God. If you can't get into it (not you, Cali, but the others), just do what rd5 did and watch the first season DVD, absolutely one of the greatest things I own.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 12, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) First, please don't call me princess.. I'm anything but and I don't appreciate the condescending tone, which is how I am interpreting it. Second.. when Sidney called this morning to ask me how many tickets I needed for the weekend I asked him if they thought they would play tonight and he said he didn't know but that he knew that the O's had already decided they would not play a double on Sunday... okokok

Oh oh oh, I get it now. It was more a punctuation thing that was confusing me. Nevermind.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 12, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) Boston and NY are how far apart..? Not that it matters.. there will be no need for a double. Boston and New York City are 216 miles apart. Chicago and Kansas City are 297 miles apart. So you're right, the O's would have to endure another hour on the grueling charter plane. But they could make up all that extra work with the off day on Monday. The point is, princess, that it's entirely doable for them to play a doubleheader on Sunday. I'm not saying that it should/will/is being etched in stone as we speak; but the precedent has been set.

Well, the Division Series always starts the Tuesday after the regular season ends. So this year it will be October 4. After that, go back to last year and do the math.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 12, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Bla, bla, bla, bla.... :rolly Seattle and Boston did a doubleheader last Sunday, on a getaway day for the Mariners who had a game in New York the next night.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 12, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) "I’d use the original blueprints and design the “new” Trade Center exactly as it had been. But I’d insist that one of the towers be exactly 229 feet, four inches shorter than the other. It’s an uncomplicated gimmick to guarantee remembrance. Because, as long as these new towers would stand, someone unaware would ask, “why is one of them shorter than the other?” Whereupon an old-timer could explain, solemnly, that the difference between the heights of the towers is intentional - it’s exactly 2,752 inches. One inch for each of the victims. It’s all the memorial we really need." That gave me chills.. He worded that a bit confusingly to me. 229 feet x 12 inches/foot = 2,748 inches. So if you add four inches to that, then the bigger tower is 2,752 inches. It's not really the difference between the height of the towers, but the height of the tallest tower.

I always thought they should rebuild it the same way they were before too. Just seems right.

I don't remember much about my last day of high school, other than I felt like Andy Dufresne at the end of Shawshank Redemption.

The Angels' pitching sucks but who exactly should they have signed this year? Should they have outbid Arizona for Russ Ortiz or outbid the Mets for Pedro? There's no way that would have been smart. Maybe if they had thrown a ton of cash at Jon Lieber or El Duque they'd be in a bit better shape but who knows if those guys would have signed there. If Texas's bullpen gets it together they'll hang in it but I fully expect LA to cruise by default.
