But that doesn't make for as good a story.

It definitely is his wrist. Like GHC and others said, he's pulling his lead (right) hand off the bat when batting from the left side. Hence the L/R splits that are opposite of his career numbers.

Just turned my first triple play, I think, ever. Runners on first and third, ground ball down the third base line, runner tries to go back and Blalock tags him, throws to second for two, and Soriano goes to first for three.
