  1. Well lets see Rexy, if he is pitching in a National League park then you are not using the DH. Therefore is it really like pitching against an American League lineup? I think not. I also think his huge pitcher friendly ballpark does have a lot to do with his stats, but that is not the case I was making when asking where he pitched at. Fast to jump to such conclusions are we?
  2. To be honest with you I can only find one game that he has pitched against an American League team and that was last year against TB at TB. I can't find this Cleveland game you speak of. Plus I asked how well he pitched, not if he took the loss or not. Do you have trouble comprehending my question? So you are basing your argument on one game against a piece of crap Devil Rays team? Good luck with that. The rest of that stuff is nonsense as I don't care what the average pitcher's era in both leagues are. We were talking about Kip, so lets stick to that. I know he pitches in a huge pitcher friendly ballpark. And I know he faces a team with a lineup that has a terrible bottom 3 on most nights. To say that that doesn't make a difference is asinine.
  3. Between 2002 and 2003 he only pitched in 2 interleague games? How well did he pitch?
  4. WHere did he play those interleague games? How did he fair in interleague games in American League parks and what teams did he play against in the American League parks?
  5. Cheat, I will never get over the our fans worrying about deals we have done in the past. About what would have happened or what could have been.
  6. YASNY all I am saying is that post was the biggest ass kissing fest I have ever seen. I am sure I could have put it more delicately, but I really didn't think you would get so bent out of shape over it.
  7. I can respond to anything I like just as you can comment on how you were not suprised on Wells' success. Thank you for giving me those options though. Much appreciated. Just as I have said, you were not intending to compare the two, that is just the way it is because of the way his career has gone so far. His success that you are not suprised at has only come in the NL. He was not successful in the AL and there is no proof that he ever would have been or will be. I do get it. I don't know if you do. You can have my two cents anytime.
  8. Nice to see that I am missed. Especially by the Queen Bee herself
  9. Sorry if you took all my comments intended for ONLY you. My comments are intended for everyone of our fellow Sox fans that continue to dwell on what we could still have or what we have given up. I can't stand it. They are no longer part of our team. Everyone should get over it and just move on. We have enough players on our current team that look like they could develop nicely and that we can cheer on rather than dwell on the players we have given up. I don't only disagree with your opinion on this situation but I am perplexed by the number of our fans that like to dwell on these situations. It makes no sense to me.
  10. Pucker up big boy. From YASNY's lips to Rex's Ass.
  11. In a way you are because the pitcher he was with us was a pitcher in the American League. The pitcher he has become and developed into has done so in the National League. There is no proof that he would have done so in the American League or developed into this pitcher with the White Sox. You may not intentionaly be doing so, but still are since that is the way his career has gone.
  12. Then proceed. However, it seems to be meaningless to me as we will never know how good he would have been with us. Different system, Different pitching coach (Nardi), different stadium. To say he would be doing the same exact things with us and having the same exact success as he is having now is a pretty far reach. I highly doubt he could have ever reached that success here and I couldnt stand his whiny little voice after the horific games he would get done pitching. Why dont we continue to speculate on the George Bell for Sammy Sosa trade while we are at it. I mean that is only about a decade old now. This is Soxtalk, not ExSoxTalk.
  13. WHO THE f*** CARES!!!!! IT IS OVER AND DONE WITH! GET OVER IT!!!!!!
  14. I thought Marte's numbers were impressive against righties as well.
  15. Yeah, that and he wasn't a superstar when he was signed by KC. You could have used this same quote "he is no superstar either" for Preist Holmes 3 years ago as well. However, that seemed to work out for KC. Just as everyone underrated Holmes before KCs signing the same may be said about Jones in a couple years. This offense makes superstars out of their RBs. Hopefully it will do the same for TJ. It will not do it for A-Train and I certainly hope A-Train is not a 3rd down back. That would be awful.
  16. I think Jones can be a superstar in this offense. Did you think Holmes was a superstar before he was signed by the Chiefs? If you recall Preist Holmes was an undrafted FA by the Baltimore Ravens. Why was he undrafted? He ran 252 times for Texas with an average of 5.1 YPC. He won the USA Today Fabulous Freshman honorable mention honors. As a senior in 1996, Holmes had 59 carries for 324 yards with 13 TDs, the sixth highest single season TD total in school history. Pretty damn good to go undrafted at a damn good school and conference, even if he was a backup. They thought so much of him after his 1000 yard season that still split time between he and Errict Rhett. The year after that they saw so much in him that they drafted Jamal Lewis in the first round. Holmes had a tendency to get hurt, missing seven or more games in two of his four years with the Ravens. Also, at 5 feet 9 inches and 213 pounds, Holmes was not as physical as the successful running backs, however that doesn't seem to matter in this system. After that year Holmes was let go and he was not very highly sought after to be anyone's starting running back. He was left out there waiting for someone to offer him a contract as others were pursuing Tiki Barber and Charlie Garner. Holmes signed a free agent contract with the Chiefs in 2001 worth roughly $10 million over five years. Very low contract offer from the Chiefs but had no negotiating leverage as they were the only team willing to offer him a featured back role. Obviously the coaches the Bears have know what type of RB is needed to fit into this system. They don't think A-Train is the back that can do this, but they do think Jones is. After seeing them hand pick Faulk and Holmes for their offenses and having each of these backs go off in their system I think they know what they are doing. Train is a good back up to have, especially at the price he is coming at. However, he is not a starting back in this system. He just doesn't fit. Thomas Jones with the explosive speed and catching ability fits this system a lot more. He is much more like Preist Holmes and Marshall Faulk than A-Train is. We will see if Jones can become a superstar in this offense.
  17. A-Train? Did you forget we signed someone by the name of Thomas Jones to be the starter? I don't think you pay Jones that much money to be a back up. WHo the hell cares about the A-Train anyways. Just average at best. Nice back up though.
  18. Yeah, good luck to him, but I am not a big fan. I like who we received in return.
  19. I am not sure if it has been reported here or not yet, but I just read in the rumors section of Sports Weekly that the Magglio for Griffey trade is likely to be revisited later in the year. Where do they come up with this stuff?
  20. I am wondering if he is going to compete for the CF spot or be our 4th OF. He plays a pretty damn good CF and has a strong arm. I watched him play a bit last year and he plays very shallow. He isnt much of a hitter, but very good defensively. I like him.
  21. It is an ESPN league and one of the starting line up spots is the middle infield spot or 2B/SS spot. You must have a SS, 2B, and a 2B/SS in your starting lineup. Cabrera may not and can not be used as a 2B.
  22. I agree Cabrera is better, but I am looking to upgrade over Loretta.
  23. So do you think I should pick up Roberts? Who should I drop? Or how about Damian Jackson from Colorado? I know Miles is pushing him, but Jackson has tons of speed as well.
