Your right Willie, but Cheat won't look at it that way becuase it goes against what he is saying. I also think that if the Bears were offered a 2nd or 3rd rounder by anyone at all the Bears would jump at that opportunity. If he was on the block or not. I think we can all agree on that.
-
No, I stated that if they received an offer of a 2nd or 3rd rounder then they would take it. I think we would both agree on that. You said the bar was set with Owens, obvioulsy it was not. If he really is that good as you say then why arent teams offering what was offered for McCareins or for that matter AJ Feely?
-
Bobby Taylor is another that will be missed. I agree comlpetely with what you are saying. Plus the coach has been shown to have a willingness to throw the ball. I believe Moss, Reed, and Carter all had their best years with Billick as OC. With Lewis, Owens, Heap, and Taylor Baltimore should have a very very good offense. I believe all his crying comes from the lost money. He and his agent should concentrate on getting a contract done with Baltimore instead of filing a greivance.
-
No doubt. I wouldn't mess with Ray Lewis at all. You may end up dead. Oops, did I really say that?
-
I think he is whining because he just lost a 10 million dollar signing bonus and a bunch more money per year. Big baby no doubt. He is a complete ass, but I would be pretty upset as well. I would be more upset at my f***ing agent for not sending in the paper work on the correct date. What an idiot.
-
what bait? what is true is true.
-
Just read in the Sun Times today that most of if not all of that signing bonus is for the first year. That would be hard for the Chiefs to match. Not only that, but there is a no trade clause in the contract, so the chiefs can's match and trade him to the Bears or any other team (Dolphins). If they sign Tait they are mulling over signing former Denver Broncos LT Ephraim Salaam. We could go from having one of the worst O lines in the leage to one of the best. Salaam, Tucker, Kreutz, Gandy, and Tait. Very nice!!! The Cheifs may ask for a draft pick and then would agree not to match the offer. I can't see how they can free up enough cap space to fit in an extra 14 million this year. Depending on what pick they ask for though I wouldn't mind giving it up. 1-5 rounds no way. 6th or 7th I would do it.

I agree with you. However, I am if they did have a deal together with the eagles then they should not have accepted another offer without talking back with the eagles. The eagles may have been willing to give up a 2nd and Thrash for Owens. Maybe a 1st rounder. The thing is they were never offered another chance. As far as the Eagles knew they had a deal worked out and were getting TO. That is poor business.
-
Where did I ever compare TO and respect? This is respect between the 2 organizations.
-
49ers screwed themselves in many ways. They couldn't afford him due to salary cap restricitons and they came out and said they were going to trade him in the next 72 hours. TO is a troublemaker, but teh niners didn't help themselves out one bit.
-
Owens and McCareins both giong for 2nd round picks? Seems like a steep price to pay if you would have had Owens for the same price. Isn't that right Cheat? I mean the bar was set. If McCareins can go for a 2nd round pick then where does that leave Train, one of the best break away backs in the league, a proven back, doesn't turn it over, and has proven he can handle the workload that comes with an NFL season, should bring us back at least what McCareins, who never went over 1,000 yards and only has 9 career touchdowns in 3 full NFL seasons, brought the Titans. Of course, that is if Train IS that good. Don't you think that if the Bears could get a 2nd rounder for Train they would move him in a heartbeat? I would think so.
-
If I agreed and signed to it then there is nothing I can do. What is done is done. Either way you look at it cheat it is a poor way to do business just to get back at a player you are going to piss off and cheat another team in the process?
-
I wonder how that works. If this is found to be true and Owens and the Eagles win their greivance against the Niners, what happens? Does Owens go to the Eagles? Then do the Niners get the Eagles 5th rounder and James Thrash? The Ravens their 2nd rounder back? OR do the Niners just keep Owens and this starts all over again?
-
Yeah, but take that for what it's worth. That is some "insider" talking. I know what your saying, and it does sound like a s***ty thing to say. If they trade him I don't think they would get their 2nd round pick back for him.
-
Wow cheat. Ok, all I am saying is it is a bad way to do business. They supposedly had a deal worked out with the Eagles and that is what the Eagles thought. Unless they heard otherwise they were going to get T.O.The next thing the Eagles know he is with the Ravens. You are right, if a deal wasn't agreed to then the Niners don't have to call anyone back. Supposedly a deal was struck and agreed to, then the Eagles were not called back or notified. There is just a little something wrong there don't you think? Why would the Eagles call them if the deal was agreed to? That makes no sense. The chances of the Eagles facing the Niners are just as good as the Ravens facing the Niners in the regular season. Playoffs are another subject, but I don't think the NIners are worried about the playoffs anytime soon. I highly doubt shipping him out of the NFC was top priority. Shipping him someplace that he didn't necessarily want to go, now that may be what they wanted to do. You also said that the Eagles should have sweetened the pot. Why would they do this if they already have a deal in place? If a deal was already agreed to why the hell would you give them anything more? That doesn't make any sense to me. If I am trying to buy a car and they say I can have it for 20 grand am I going to say oh no, here , let me give you 30,000 just so I am sure I will have it. Hell no Im not. If we have a deal at a certain price why would I pay more? Why would the Eagles offer more if a deal is already agreed to?
-
Steve, what did T.O. say? I only see the agent of T.O. talking and the Eagles complaining. I don't blame T.O. for being a bit pissed off though. Look at all that money he just lost! That is a s*** load of cash!
-
They were never given the chance. They thought they had a deal. Did you read the article cheat? After the Ravens offered the 49ers a 2nd round pick there was not another call made to the Eagles. They learned that they didn't get Owens by watching ESPN. No communication between the Eagles and 49ers after they received the offer from the Ravens. Why would you sweeten the pot if you thought you already had a deal? I think it is far from sour grapes and they have a legitimate complaint. It was pretty s***ty on the 49ers part.
-
Eagles Cry Foul Over T.O. Deal How is this possible? What will happen if they win their greivance, will T.O. go to the Eagles for Thrash and a 5th rounder?

I usually check out ESPN, Fanball, and Rotoworld.

Now how and where did I ever give you the opinion that this was an asset? My point was he never had the opportunity to prove himself, be it of his own foolishness, the coaching staff, or illness. That is all. Why read into something? This was the silliest comment of the whole argument yet. Really? Hmm, I thought the 49ers stated that they wanted to get rid of him no matter what. That really brings the value down. They had no choice to get rid of him. Not only was he an ass and a distraction to the team, but the 49ers have salary cap issues and couldn't afford to have him on the team. This is not the case with the Bears. The Bears have a starting RB of the last 3 seasons, that according to you is one of the top breakaway backs in the league. Because only 8 other backs are better than he. This is not worth at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick? Wierd! The Bears do not have to trade him. He is not making that much. The Bears are far under the cap. Train has not demanded a trade. Train has not been an ass or a distraction to the team. The Bears did not say that they needed to get rid of him within 72 hours, like the 49ers did with owens. If he really is one of the top breakaway backs in this league then trust me he is worth at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Piss poor example if you ask me. Clinton Portis was worth Champ Bailey (a proven pro bowl DB) AND a 2nd round pick. If Train really is one of the best break away backs in the league, is a proven back, doesn't turn it over, and has proven he can handle the workload that comes with an NFL season then he is worth at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick. To me he is not. To me he is vanila, bland, average, and a mediocre everyday back, but I am just going by your examples and that would lead me to the conclusion that he is worth at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Obviously stats are not deceiving, right? Listen, we obviously don't agree and we will never agree on this issue. To me Thomas Jones is the perfect fit for this offense, Train is not. Train is better suited for an offense that likes the bruising running game. Not an offense that is tailored for a back that runs outside and recieves the ball a lot. Those just aren't Train's best assets. Those are Jones' best assets. You can comment back if you want, but I am agreeing to disagree with you. -

Have you looked at either one of those divisions? There is not a lot of talent in either the White Sox division or the Bears division. Don't just look at the negatives Baggs, there is more to it. I never said it was Jurons fault, I did say it was Shoop's fault. We had enough talent on offense to perform better than we did. That is all I know. Shoop's offense and play calling ability was awful. Juoron's only fault was his loyalty to Shoop. I think I see a trend with certain speculation's of yours, Baggs, and mine. I believe we will constantly bump heads in issues like these. I am always optimistic and will always look for the good in things. You seem to alway be optimistic and look at the negatives first. I think that is just our nature. Nothing wrong with that at all. Every season I have optimism going into things. What is the point of the season if I am already planning on losing? To me that would be a awful way of going into it. Maybe it is easier on you to expect less and perhaps recieve more. I can understand that, being pleasantly suprised is nice. However, it is always easier to take the negative stance because you will be right more often than not. -
I believe you are referring to Hearst as being the other back in the system? Hearst was officially released earlier this week or last week. Barlow was signed to a huge contract. He will be the only back next year. I am trying to figure out if he will be as good as he was last year. They lost 2 OL, Owens, Streets, and Garcia.

Donkey just join MLBs live broadcasts. If you have a broadband connection in Japan it is the best thing you can do. I don't believe it was that much if I recall correctly.

So you are taking what he did in one miraculous season and make that his career? What about 2002 and 2003? Do I believe that Jones broke his hand? or do I believe he broke his hand while slamming down the phone? Does it really matter how he broke it? It is still a freakish injury, plus he also missed part of a season with pnemounia. How many backs are in this league? You picked 6 to make that comparison? I will tell you this Jones is closer to all of those backs than Thomas in ability. They are all speed backs. That is not the Train. I don't think you are really trying to compare Thomas to those backs in terms of break away ability are you? Because there isn't one. Stats are very deceiving at times, this is one of those cases. I really don't think you believe that Train is a break away threat whenever he touches the ball. Jones can be. Jones is also younger than Train even though he has played more years. Jones is a better fit for this offense than Train. I really don't know how you can dispute that. If Train was really that great the Bears would have received an offer from another team willing to trade at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I doubt they have received such an offer as Train is still here.
