  1. I don't know if we will be able to tell the difference between Juan Cruz and Sammy Sosa in spring training. Off the juice!
  2. no hard feelings at all I still have a hard time believing Jeter will be moved. I don't see many people in that position taking kindly to someone coming in and taking over their position. This could cause a lot of animosity. Supposedly this was even worked out with ARod before the deal was made. Jeter will not be moved. I have heard this on a couple of different stations from people withing the Yank organIzation. I am not saying it isn't possible, but I would be the most suprised person out there if Jeter is moved to 2nd.
  3. I could not ever see a situation where Jeter moves from SS to accomodate ARod. That will never happen. I can see them acquiring a 2B such as Grudz or Walker, but they will not move Jeter.
  4. I really don't think you understand my argument at all. Here I clearly state: Do you see that word SUDDENLY? Now if you think it is a no brainer that you would have Soriano and a healthy Boone over Arod and Wilson/Cairo then you are proving my point. They were a better offense before Boone got hurt. However, no one was going crazy over it and complaining and calling them the best offense in the league and stating they are going to run away with it. That Boston has no chance. All of a sudden Boone goes down and they trade Soriano for ARod and they suddenly become the best offense in the league? NO THEY DID NOT. THEY ALREADY WERE before the Boone injury. Now do you understand where I am coming from? Boone got injured. They were not a better offense after they lost him and they are still not a better offense since they lost him. They did not SUDDENLY become the best offense in the league.
  5. This is something our organization will never understand. We, the core fans, will always go to the game. That is not the problem. By getting great players in your draw more attention to your team. You get more exceitment. By doing that you draw the casual fan in. Drawing more and more casual fans is how you make the money. Once you get that and you get more income then you can start spending more, because all we want is to break even, right Jerry? Come on Jerry!!!!!
  6. How about St. Louis K. Robinson Renteria Pujols Edmonds Rolen Sanders Houston? Biggio Ensberg Bagwell Kent Berkman Hidalgo Braves? Furcal Giles Jones Jones J.D. Drew Phillies? Byrd Rollins Thome Burrell Abreu Liberthal Palanco Bell There are a few NL lineups that are pretty damn good
  7. I would love to have Cabrera. I hope Willie pans out. We would be very solid up the middle if that happened. We would just need a better CF (Carlos Beltran?)
  8. Is this really big news that people from overseas lied about their age to increase their value as a prospect? Yeah Soriano did it, but he is far from the first or only one. Plus both teams knew about it. It really doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
  9. So if everyone that needed to know about his age did know about his age what the hell is the big deal?
  10. Where is Frank's loyalty asking to be traded? Where was Frank's loyalty when he was shopping around his services before he signed last year? Frank is doing what he thinks is best for him and the Sox will do what they think is best for them
  11. It is in the current edition. Feb 18-24. It is on the third page on the bottom right hand side in "The Buzz" Baseball White Sox slugger Frank Thomas says he wants out of Chicago and hopes to be traded to Los Angeles. The White Sox have offered Thomas or first baseman/DH Paul Konerko for starter Odalis Perez.
  12. I wasn't listening to the show. Why else would he call him a pitcher? If he screwed up the positions then maybe he even screwed up the first names. If anyone was listening could they please give a bit more information. Thank you.
  13. I just read the sports section of the USA Today and I couldn't find it in there anywhere. I did see that Josh Hamilton from the TB DRays was suspended 30 days and fined for violating the MLB's drug policy. Phillie Phanatic got his head back, already knew that. That and all the ARod news is all the baseball that is in the USA Today sports section.
  14. Maybe they are talking about Rafael Soriano, the pitcher from the Mariners. Isn't he about the same age? Maybe a year younger?
  15. Did you call the station ss2k4 to make sure if it was or was not reported? I didn't hear him say this either, but I only listened for about 20 minutes today.
  16. Maybe someone should call the radio station and ask if this has indeed been reported. If it hasn't then appropriate actions should be taken. There is no need to spread this nonsense on here if it is in fact false.
  17. All I am going to say is comparing one PLAYER'S age to a TEAM's average age is comparing apples to oranges. RELATIVE to the average TEAM's age of MLB the Yanks are an old TEAM. As a TEAM the YANKS are old old old. They are the oldest TEAM in all of MLB.
  18. Yeah good point. Especiall to help out Buehrle and Garland. It would be nice. I just don't have a good feeling about him. I think he is going to get rocked.
  19. Rex would you really want him? I mean he is a National League pitcher and his 2nd half was ok, but his 1st half was awful. Then again looking at what we have as a #4 and 5 I wouldn't mind him. Not at 7-8 million a year for 2 years though.
  20. It's been mentioned and supposedly they have suddenly become the best offense in baseball after they made the ARod trade. Be prepared to get harrassed. Soriano and a healthy Boone or ARod and Wilson/Cairo
  21. Oopsie daisy. Sorry, never meant to sound uptight.
  22. No one said Jiminez was a great defensive player either. Alomar actually helped Valentin a lot. I wouldn't judge him on half a season with the Sox. Harris received very little playing time so you can't judge him on that.
  23. From baseball america: Durham's pending free agency contributed heavily to the decision to deal him, as the White Sox are looking to trim payroll and have three Triple-A middle-infield prospects as potential replacements: Willie Harris, Tim Hummel and D'Angelo Jimenez. Chicago general manager Kenny Williams said that another factor in the trade was getting a chance to see Harris play regularly in the majors. But no matter what spin is put on this transaction, Chicago got very little in return. Adkins, 24, has intriguing stuff: a 90-94 mph fastball with good sink and a plus slider. He also throws a changeup and a splitter, which aren't as refined as his two best pitches. Despite his arsenal, however, the 1998 ninth-round pick out of Oklahoma State doesn't show consistent command in the strike zone and gets hits hard and often. In 97 innings at Sacramento, he gave up 139 hits and 33 walks, while striking out 76. He had Tommy John surgery in 1999 that kept him out of most of the following season. The Oakland Athletics signed first-round draft pick Brian Snyder and six more draftees Saturday. Snyder, a third baseman from Stetson who hit .396 with 11 homers and 55 RBIs this season, was the 26th overall pick in the draft. Oakland had the pick as compensation for losing free agent Ray Durham, who signed with the San Francisco Giants. Brian Snyder, 3B Another first-round pick for the A's, out of Stetson, Snyder picked up 146 at-bats with Vancouver in the Northwest League after signing. While he hit just .253, the A's were very pleased with his approach, including his .409 OBP. Minor injuries may have hurt his production in his debut.
