  1. How sir? With what? Who is in the system that anyone wants anymore? Nothing good enough to aquire a Washburn I don't believe. There are 2 players I have heard, one a cather and one a 3rd baseman, but they are no where near ready.
  2. You are wrong Mr. Aboz. They had Brian Anderson in their rotation.
  3. I'm not saying the Spanks are bad by any means. Just overhyped. I think they are vulnerable in many areas. Age is one and pitching is another. Injuries are more common among older players. If they really are able to go out and get what they need inthe middle of the season I will be shocked. Their minor league system is shot. They have nothing anyone else wants. Who are they going to give up to aquire someone they need?
  4. No problem. I understood exactly where you were coming from. I am sorry to hear about your weekend.
  5. I believe you are correct. I really like what the Angels have done. They are deep in SP and Bullpen. Solid defense and the lineup should be much improved with Guerrero. That is my favorite for the AL. Boston is not too shabby, but they seem to have a lot of players coming off of career years.
  6. I believe you are correct Mike. I think we saw this exact thing when ARod couldn't be traded to the Red Sox.
  7. Ok, so your saying it isn't in the best interest in baseball? That is a legitimate reason I suppose. Good point.
  8. really that good? They don't have a legitimate 2nd baseman. Kenny Lofton is old and being counted on to play CF and leadoff. ARod is now going to play 3rd, is that good defensively? Giambi wasn't all that last year. Leiber is coming off of injury, Brown is old and an injury waiting to happen, Contreras didn't look so great last year, Vazquez is really good, but he is switching leagues which isn't always the easiest thing for National League pitchers to do. They don't have any other minor leaguers worth anything to trade, so if another injury does occur how are they going to get what they need when that time comes? I'm sorry but I just don't understand all the hype. When you look at all the names it is staggering, but when you take a step back and really look at them I don't think it is all that great. Especially not for 190 million dollars. Anyway, we will see how this all works out, I am just not that impressed with the Yankees at all.
  9. Why would he stop it? I wouldn't see the reasoning behind it.
  10. I just looked over the Rangers' team. Projected lineup 1. Michael Young SS 2. Hank Blalock 3B 3. Alfonso Soriano CF 4. Brian Jordan RF 5. Brad Fullmer DH 6. Mark Teixeira 1B 7. Kevin Mench LF 8. Eric Young 2B 9. Einar Diaz C You are right. They would move Michael Young to SS and Eric Young, who they signed this offseason, would play 2B. Now who the hell is going to pitch for this team? And we are worried about our staff, YUCK!!!!!!!! Projected Rotation Kenny Rogers Colby Lewis Joaquin Benoit R.A. Dickey Chan Ho Park Projected Bullpen Francisco Cordero (Closer) Jeff Zimmerman Erasmo Ramirez Jeff Nelson Brian Shouse Rosman Garcia
  11. I understand what you are saying but please show me where I ever crossed the line in that thread. I would really like to know because I don't see it. I understand this is all about peace, but then why isn't this same exact thing being said to the other person involved as well. It seems as though it is pretty easy to knock me and everyone just stays away from the other person. It seems as though I am not the only one involved here. Thank you, I will now hang up and listen for my answer.
  12. Hmm, good point. I haven't hear that. Thank you supernuke.
  13. This is what I have heard too. Jose Valentine is the one most likely to be affected by this trade. The Rangers need help badly at SS. Hopefully we can get something good in return for him.
  14. You know I can now see that some people here get preferential treatment around here because they supposedly know people/players or can share inside private information. I was told that I would be kicked off the board here if I had one more disagreement with this person on this board. I wonder if this other person has received the same instructions. I have seen this persons post and what this person said about me but I refuse to comment on any of it. I was told we were to both stick to the subject of baseball. I held up to my end of the bargain, as I have no problem in doing so. The other person found it necessary to get personal and insulting. I'm sorry this person constantly feels attacked when I have a different opinion. If you look back at that thread, not once did I get personal nor did I get offensive, insulting, or attacking. What I did in the thread was similar to what I have seen many others do on this board. If I disagree with someone and they can't back up their stance then maybe they should walk away without insulting. In the past week I have also agreed with this person. I have thanked this person. There has been nothing wrong with my attitude. Now all of a sudden it is my fault again at least that is the case to some around here, that things turn into a personal argument or attacking. If you look back I was still looking to talk about the baseball argument. Never did I make the attack on the other person. I would like to apologize to everyone here if I offended any of you with my behavior. Take care people! SSI
  15. And that puts my parents in the discussion how? It wasn't meant as an insult how? Alrighty then! :headshake
  16. No you havent. YOu are explaining the part you want to explain and disregarding the part that is being debated. SOmeone else did as I have seen Brando's post as well. Here I will quote him here just in case you missed it: You don't make yourself as clear as you think you do. I have no problem moving on. This is another debate. I am fine with everything the way things were. I have posted on here when I thought you were correct as well. However, I am not going to kiss your ass and tell you your right when you are not. If that is what you consider moving on then you are soarly mistaken. I'm out, Happy Valentine's Day. If you want to continue with this discussion I will be back on Monday. Until then!
  17. Awww, thats so sweet. When you can't back up what you say you go to your insults. :headshake Oh well. Good try anyways. Better luck next time!
  18. Hmm, who is twisting things now? You forget the other part of your quote which is the one that is being debated here, There you go. Now what? That says a lot more than inninngs pitched. It states innings pitched AND!!! DO you not see the AND?
  19. just because Person is out for the year? He is in the same predicament he has been in the whole offseason. Person going down didn't change a thing.
  20. The comparison is no one expected Loaiza to even come close to what he did last year. Scho or someone else can do the same this year. I have looked at Loaiza's previous years and there is nothing that stands out to me that could have ever told me he would have done what he did last year.
  21. I didn't twist anything. Did you read your post? Alrighty then! No need to twist anything. I quoted you exactly as you wrote it. He wasn't better than Loaiza at anything but eating innings. That is not what you said. How can you come to the conclusion that a pitcher is an ace just by how many innings he pitches?
  22. Why must I always? :headshake I never knew I did it before. Thank you for keeping me in line. I was really getting out of control. So much for keeping things baseball.
  23. This is your quote: You didn't state that he was better at pitching more innings than everyone else. You stated that he pitched more innings AND was better than everyone else. That means he did both, when in fact he was only better at pitching more innings. Better than everyone else and he WAS an ACE on this team? In fact he wasn't better than everyone else. Just because he pitches more innings than anyone else makes him the ACE and better than anyone else? That is a strange conclusion to come to. In every other category besides innings pitched Colon's numbers do not measure up to Loaiza's. Buehrle pitched more innings than Loaiza last year, 230.3 to 226.3. Would you say that Buehrle was better then Loaiza?
  24. We have lost with him and his lousy attitude, I am sure we can do the same without him and it. Pitching wins championships. If we can get really good pitching in return for a slugger who can't play the field then why not do it? Take a look around the league, for that matter all professional sports, and you show me where the loyalty is. The loyalty is to the almighty dollar. If Frank could have received a decent contract from another team last year do you think he would still be here? He shopped his services around last year, where was his loyalty then?
