Nah, I'm working on that right now Steff. I'm not closing this DB down and we may actually be able to do this without losing posts (key word being may) or any of the info. We have a lot of things in the pipeline right now but the good news is when this is done it should be screaming (key word being should). The stuff done last night worked brilliantly. Give me about 25-40 minutes or so Steff and I'll have your stuff (you don't have to log out or anything).

Good stuff. It is also interesting or at least intriguing that Gio was requested not to pitch. He last threw on Friday IIRC (same time as Floyd's start) so it isn't as if he were tired and not ready. I wonder if a promotion of some sorts is near or if some other type of move is close.

I wouldn't have a problem with that move, especially if the Sox than swang Jenks for a bloody ransom. You than still have your closer for next year in Lidge and have parlayed Dye into a number of prospects (well technically Jenks but to do so you had to move Dye to keep yourself strong at the closers position). Interesting. I hope Joe can come back and swing the bat well. It will give the Sox reason to work out an agreement with him and with time he should be able to create some trade value and in turn allow the Sox to get something of value for Joe (or keep him if they opt to go with that method while moving Fields to LF). Still I'd be stunned if Crede stuck around after proving himself healthy (heck he may very well get non-tendered).

That something we thought of but I've never been in it for the accolades (albeit I was really stoked to get listed in the top 8, just like I was stoked to have an interview in ESPN the magazine and see this site featured on Sports Illustrated). Still, I think with more hard work and a stable server set up this place will continue to emerge as a premiere community, baseball site and well just all around great web site.

I've always said this place is fun for me so I never and will never charge any sort of membership fee (you can all hold me to that). I recover costs now through the couple advertisers that are up here and one day I hope to make some nice side money on the other sports sites that are up (however, never at the members expense). Now thats not to say if someone offered me a 100K advertisement deal that I wouldn't jump on it (wink wink to any big time backers out there, LOL). Glad everyone here likes this place as I know without it I personally would know a heck of a lot less about the Sox.

We are going to do this where we hopefully have absolutely no site outage (we have already backed everything up) and I'm actually doing the install right now. We will be cleaning all the bugs up or at least most of them before launching the new version sometime tomorrow. We will also have an outage later on this week when we likely double the server's ram (which should also help the site out).

I'd be stunned if he wasn't back. The question is whether the Sox will have the resources to bring Aaron and another FA in.

I think when we start over we will go through and look at ways we can organize this place even better but we will also always take into account whether splitting a forum up a bit will take away too much discussion and in a sense make the forum inactive or little used. So the crew will definitely take a look at that and see if it would work (heck I don't venture much into some of those areas so I'm going to go through places looking to see what can be added, what can be shrunk, etc) and see if any other peoples ideas would work. Lord knows we've consitently done this on a trial and error basis and we are always up for trying knew thinks that could make this place better. Also note, if you have any important PM's grab the info. In an ideal world you will have access to them again in 2 weeks but with me doing some of the work you never really know if you will

The Soxtalk.com staff would like to inform the members of a temporary site closure that will occur during the All Star Game (July 10th, 2007).
