  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) If he is still fast, sure bunt and get on. But after a few groin injuries, how fast is he going to be. I want to see him go from 1st to 3rd and watch how he runs. That is more of a test of ones speed than bunting and running, or even a stolen base. The thing is he needs to have confidence in his speed and do the things that a speed guy will do. Lets see if he's healthy, if he is great, he's an asset as a leadoff hitter and if he isn't lets see him do what speed guys do (and if he isn't healhty he'll fail at it) and hopefully management makes the right decision and goes with someone else as the starter if thats the case. Pods made a nice running grab. He's looking at least 100%, whether that means he's got his old speed I don't know, but he's running confident and a confident Scotty could be much more like the Pods of 05.
  2. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 01:36 PM) They haven't showed any of the LBSU/Tenn game, but I assume they are using a hockey power play format for each team as they cross half court. 185 pts with 5 minutes left? Ya, the score is just crazy. The ND game was a solid finish though.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) Scotty is in midseason form. Call me crazy but I thought it was good that he was willing to bunt in his first game back. Plus I think he should bunt more anyway. Than again I'm far from a so called money ball guy.
  4. Pods lays down a bunt, gets out, but I think its a good sign that he's willing to bunt and trust his legs.
  5. Ozzie says Juan has walked more in spring training than he did the last two years of the regular season and he just drew a great walk (something I never thought Juan would do). Ozzie is also saying that he has talked to Juan about getting a higher OBP. Also said some nice things about Ersty.
  6. Great having Kenny and Ozzie on with Hawk right now. Better yet...I'm at work and on my laptop half of the screen has the Wiscy game on, the other half has the Sox-Cubs game on. Uribe's having a great AB.
  7. Wisconsin could blow a lot of brackets. They just aren't a top 4 or 5 team and they are the type of team that could lose to almost anyone (although they pull out pretty much every close game which is to there credit). Still Tucker is banged up, and Butch is not near 100%.
  8. Wow that was a brutal call against Notre Dame. Should have definitely been a charge and not a block. Great finish to this game and its going to ruin a couple brackets in the pool I'm in (not mine though, although I did have ND winning this game). ND is toast....Winthrop going to be moving on. Up 7, with one more freethrow to shoot and just under 30 seconds left.
  9. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 10:07 AM) God damn it, still a player short. I'll let the admins add whomever they want, they'd get Steff's team... The final team is taken...my friend will sign back in and just use Steff's team instead of his old team.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 09:55 PM) Terrible. Awful. Did pretty well tonight except for Duke. At least I don't think I lost any Elite 8 teams yet. Ya, I made the mistake of having Duke in the sweet 16. The matchups really looked good for them, plus Coach K has been in the sweet 16 the last 8 or 9 years and while Duke isn't as good as usual they still are a decent team. Oh well as of now that is my only sweet 16 team thats a goner.
  11. QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) Butler is keeping it real in the 2nd half. The game against Maryland should be a good one. Hopefully Butler displays the 2nd half effort today as opposed to the 1st. After one day, I bow down to you
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 04:51 AM) IU will be in that game through out, but in the end UCLA's guards will just be too much imo and they'll pull it out. UCLA will win by 15+
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) Doing the same thing for me today. I must be the lucky one. I've been watching the Memphis game, but have switched over to the Virginia game since its halftime. Absolutely no problems.
  14. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) Yeah so is getting paid to watch basketball games. I love the boss button classy (although I dont really work with spreadsheets still is hilarious) Ya, that thing cracks me up. Marquette proved the comittee got the rankings right. That was just an easy pick with McNeal out.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 12:16 PM) I really shouldn't give Iowa fans crap. We hang banners for conference championships, conference tournament championships and NCAA berths. I can't remember if we do for the NIT. It kind of depends on the sport. We've got a ton of s*** hanging up there, including retired jerseys. But like, for wrestling, we've got the eight national championship banners and that's it. Plus we took care of business against you this year and were the better team the past couple seasons.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 06:59 AM) At times it's been foul trouble, but like even nights like last night where he stays out of foul trouble, he usually ends up on the bench for a Mike Sweetney. Last night, he stayed out of foul trouble, they let him play a lot of minutes, and what do you know? If Tyrus gets his shot AND does his part (stays out of foul trouble), this team is actually dangerous. Dude, Sweets never plays so if you want to argue skiles is ruining Tyrus than at least make a valid argument and don't give me this crap he plays Sweetney more than Tyrus. Skiles has done a good job with Tyrus. We've seen him grow a ton as a player in just his rookie season. We all knew he'd be raw but the improvements he's made have been tremendous as of late and call me crazy but I'm going to credit Tyrus for his hard work and Skiles and the rest of the coaching staff as well.
  17. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 12:03 PM) Anyone else having issues with it? I can't get the games to play. I get audio but no video (sans ads). Just a frozen screen. Works superior than mlb.tv for me. Albeit the quality of the picture isn't as good as mlb.tv.
  18. Memphis is waking up. On fire all of a sudden after North Texas had a lead mots of the first half. Now they are on a 14-2 run and up by 9 with a minute left in the first half.
  19. I'll be cheering for the Hawks tonight @ the Honda center.
  20. That is way more than people typically get for violating probation (I know this because my buddies brother with two strikes got a whopping month and a half in prison). Albeit none of his charges involved weapons.
  21. Yes to being unassigned today at work. Its basically a day off where I'm relaxing at the office with ncaa on demand on right now and mlb.tv on watching the Sox game later on today. Definitely makes up for having to work from 6:30 AM till 10:30 PM yesterday.
  22. Alright, I haven't been able to get in here but I thought this was a great move by the O's. I also think it is ridiculous to compare Iguchi and Roberts. No offense to Iguchi and I realize two years ago was a complete career year, but regardless Roberts is a better ball player. He's as good of a hitter as Iguchi, a better defensive 2nd baseman (albeit not by that much) and a superior base-runner/base stealer. Roberts is one of those guys I would have loved to pickup. That said I like Iguchi a lot and he's a very solid 2nd baseman (i put him in that Adam Kennedy mode to where he's above average as 2nd baseman goes but very underappreciated).
  23. Zoom...are we stlil short a player? Let me know because my buddy is raring to go if a spots available. And thank goodness, I thought I had screwed the pooch (thinking the draft was on Wed) cause I hadn't set everything. I'll be able to make the draft on Saturday and I got my list of players set up. Thanks for all the hard work.
  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) panda express orange "chicken" is pretty good though. Yes....I love that americanized chinese food.
  25. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) Joshua Tree, but again NOT in the summer. I did a 6 hour mountain bike ride in Joshua tree in the summer about 6 years ago (when I was in far better shape) and after that ride I seriously thought I was going to die (it was a zillion degrees out and it was for boyscouts...about halfway through we were all wondering why in the hell we decided to do this). However Joshua tree is an awesome place as long as you go in the spring (before it gets ridiculously hot). You can go hiking and climbing all over the place and you can also rock climb. Very cool park. QUOTE(shoota @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) You don't need a passport to drive into Canada until January 2008. Though on returning to the States she'll need to show a birth certificate and driver's license. A passport is a good idea, but if she doesn't obtain one by your planned departure date, don't let it cancel your trip. I hear Illinois's own Starved Rock is a romantic getaway. You might want to look in to that. Is that new? I know I went in and out of Canada a few years back and never even had to show a drivers license.
