  1. When it comes to Enron some of the people that got robbed the most were employees of Arthur Anderson and all the partners and principals of that company because it was a crying shame that they got closed down (and years later it came out that they should have never been forced to close, but unfortunately, it was too little too late and now we have the Big 4).
  2. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 02:00 AM) Really, I think you should calm down. It's a football game. Seriously, I had a few laughs at that post but relax man....in the end its just a game. And thats coming from a diehard like me. Of course its a game I'm so excited for and want to win so badly (its as if I actually played, LOL). QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 07:49 AM) Not too long after Katrina hit, I started playing my Scorpions CD and the first song is "Rock you like a Hurricane." The hockey season was getting under way so of course I played it over and over (not thinking about anything but hockey when playing it). Of course a few people that were driving near me gave me funny looks - guess it didn't help I was wearing a Hurricanes hat at the same time. By the time it dawned on me why I was getting funny looks, I couldn't stop laughing.
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 09:10 AM) #3, what's a bus? No one walks or takes public trans. Seriously, if you are from California every member of the family has a car, LOL.
  4. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 09:12 AM) Having no class on fridays is sweet. oh and turkey/cheddar lunchables are also sweet. Nasty...only kind of lunchables I didn't mind were the pizza ones cause the meat was always god awful. Oh and try having no class Friday and Monday cause thats how the real playa's roll (or did roll...now I'm a working stiff, booo).
  5. I've long been a fan of Trot Nixon and at 3 mill (if he's healthy and able to play 130 games) this will be one of the FA bargains of the off-season.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 07:59 PM) Tallaadega Nights was funny because of Baron Cohen, Walker, and Texas Ranger. Anchorman was funny because of Steve Carrel. Heder better make this movie worthwhile. Ferrell on his own = bad. Ferrell with a good supporting cast = potentially great comedy.

OMG, the partner for my job just showed up to our location at the client and I'm sitting here bursting out laughing at this thread. THREAD OF DA YEAR!!!
  8. I don't care about Belli being an ass. Weiss is an ass too, but I love him as a coach (he's a brilliant offensive mind) just like Belli is a brilliant football mind and he's proven himself to be one of the all time great coaches (winning 3 super bowls does that). Lovie is a guy that you can like because of his personality but in the end as long as guys aren't comitting crimes (neither Weiss or Belli are doing that) I will support and love any excellent coach and Lovie has a chance at being an excellent coach and a loveable coach. However, there is no way If I'm building a franchise that I choose anyone but Belli to be my head coach. Hopefully a few years from now I'll be calling Lovie and outstanding coach (heck maybe even this off-season, LOL, because in the end you need rings to be an excellent coach, imo).
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 05:36 PM) OSU is the more talented team, there is no doubt about that but IU also defends better and is probably the best defensive team in the conference. I'm pretty sure that Greasy's point was that IU has done just as much as OSU so far this season, yet OSU has the Oden hype train. I do think that OSU is better but this IU team is very good and very dangerous, when you defend like they do, you can compete with anyone. Heck, Iowa may be the 2nd best defensive team in the conference. Of course they have almost zero offense (outside of Smith/Haluska) and because of that will not make the tourney (unless they find some other scoring options).
  10. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) SN ranked us with the 4th best bullpen in the AL. They listed us with 5 guys who throw over 100MPH when no one else has more than 3. I believe in the last issue they ranked our rotation 4th as well. Twins were number one for Bullpen, Tigers number one for rotation. I probably should know this, but is SN, Sporting News?
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 01:14 PM) If Zambrano does indeed hit free agency, I hope kenny just throws globs of money at him. He's a psycho but he's one the best pitchers in baseball. The only pitcher in baseball right now that I'd for sure take over him is Johan. Stop thinking like me. We obviously agree on things. And yes, Carlos is one guy worth boatloads of money.
  12. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) Carlos Zambrano sucks against the AL too. He can't hide behind the weak hitting catcher and pitcher. For a supposed ace and Cy Young contender, his K/BB was 24th out 38 NL starters, and his WHIP was 16th. It's a shame Oswalt will be getting much less than this fatass headcase. Oswalt is clearly the better pitcher, yet doesn't get half the hype I'll take Zambrano as would any other scout in baseball. Of that list you made...Johan is the only starter I'd take over Zambrano. Clemens is pretty ridiculous but he doesn't give the innings that Carlos does. Pedro isn't healthy anymore and the rest of those guys aren't even close to being as good as Carlos, imo.
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 05:36 PM) We were there and you called the comeback, easily my best moment as well. Awesome seats for that game to boot. I still remember getting called by my dad in the game and telling him don't worry, Yhancy Brazoban will blow the save. Hell, me you and mario were going crazy at the end of that game (only time I went more wild was when the Sox clinched).
  14. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 11:12 PM) How is that game? Worth picking up? I'm in love with Fifa and College Hoops right now... I can play Fifa all day. The game is amazingly awesome.
  15. Happy Bday
  16. I am the lightest sleeper in the world though. If the heater turns on and starts blowing, I will wake up (unless I'm sick or sleeping for the first time in a day or two cause in those cases I will actually be in a deep sleep as my body makes up for its lack of legitimate sleep). Basically the slightest of noise and I'm up (no one could Tee Pee my house as a kid because my window was always open and I'd hear things instantly and pull pranks back at them.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 02:44 PM) Will be interesting to see if Dunleavy can live up to that so called "potential" of his that made him a top 3 pick. Suprised he didn't get traded to the Clippers straight up for Maggette though. Since Indiana gets another cancer off their team in Jackson, it's probably slightly in their favor. Find it weird they traded Harrington after they really wanted him back though. Elgin Baylor was on the radio today and said that as long as Dunleavy is the coach, he will never ever have his son on the team.
  18. QUOTE(Jeff Liefer @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 09:08 AM) I'm pretty sure I took my first piss in a White Sox bathroom between innings as a toddler...I barely remember Old Comiskey, but the first memories I have are Sox memories...born and raised. At least you didn't get locked in the pisser, like Liefer did when he was with the Brewers org That said I always liked watching Liefer take BP, he was "country strong" as Hawk would say.
  19. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) Bulin wall was God awful tonight.... 3 of those goals he had decent looks at and just missed them. Given on one of those Buf stopped his feet and got deeked out of his jock but Bulin should have made that save IMO. Another 2 goal lead gone for naught. Yep, Bulin lost that game for the Hawks. That said on a couple I thought the defense could have done a better job, but still, Hawks played agressive and were bringing the wood all game. It was cool that I actually got to see a Hawks game and in HD to boot.
  20. I got like 7:30 hr's. Absolutely passed out at 11. It's great, ever since I started running a couple miles when I get home from work (before I cook my dinner) I've really started to sleep even better (and I sleep good as it is). On a sidenote, I'm 100% convinced that aside from noise, the reason some people can sleep well and some can't sleep well has to do completely with stress levels. Me, I forgot absolutely everything when I'm going to go to sleep.
  21. I have defeated computer solitaire 3 straight times (yes, its a very slow day at work).

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) I dont like the concept as much as that service that allows you to use your existing cable connection at home to watch the channels on your PC. Ya, thats going to be really sweet. Especially since I'm out of town on business a lot. In this case I could access my cable box through my laptop and than watch MLB Xtra innings and the Sox game via that.

I thought this was pretty darn interesting. The concept is very cool and while they aren'the first (as we can watch TV online via most networks now) the idea of having one place to be able to search for tv show clips is outstanding (especially if it works well). These guys are pretty damn inovative considering they succeeded with Kazaa (albeit in the footsteps of Napster) & Skype already.
