QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) Never has a team given me such bad headaches before. I think I'm gonna go get some DQ, but I wanna watch BMac pitch seeing as how I might not get, and haven't gotten many chances this year. Lets just hope the Bears don't dissapoint cause that would really suck. Two straight teams where I have high hopes only to get crushed.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:31 PM) Okay, guys, I've pulled it out. It's Rally Havlat! time.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:26 PM) Stop quoting f***ing Ozzie, Hawk. I am f***ing sick of seeing him, hearing about him, thinking about him, or even knowing he is still our manager. The only solace I take is in reading your guys posts and it makes me laugh (even though I'm posting the exact same stuff). Its nice to laugh cause this game SUCKS.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) I see positives for the 2007 for every pitcher besides Garcia, even though it wouldn't shock me if he "finds" an extra 3 mph next year during his contract season. I've gained some confidence in Freddy as of late, especially because with his loss in velocity he's developed a superior changeup. So if he could find that extra 3 MPH he could come back more dominate than ever. I wouldn't have any problem moving Jose because I think someone would give up stuff as if they were getting an ace and they may very well be. I even wouldn't have a problem moving Buehrle if the right offer came along because we are going to be due to pay him a huge chunk a year from than. That said I don't see why Buehrle couldn't turn things around. Javy is just all over the place so who knows, we'll see what happens but it may determine things. The more I think about it the more I don't think I'd be stunned if nearly our entire rotation stuck around, that said I wouldn't be stunned if we changed 3 starters either.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) Our pitching absolutely refuses to get on any kind of streak. And I assume there's been a lot of complaining about Ozzie's terrible idea to start Mackowiak AGAIN today against JOHAN SANTANA? More than usual, at least a few of us have pretty much had it. This is just more reason why Ozzie should be FIRED.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) I would give up on a basketball game if I was down 6-0 to Kobe Bryant...

QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) Tony what I'm saying is Anderson sucks, also. We would have been a much better team with the same pieces of last year. All the additions have been s***. McDougal, Riske, Mack, the list goes on. Greg, ask Hawk what he thinks of Brian. I think him and DJ already think he's one of the 3 best defensive outfielders in all of baseball. Offensively he's hitting over .280 or so since the ASB (IIRC). The guy is a top notch prospect who continues to get better and he is one of the few guys that is actually doing things right. You don't expect a 9 hole hitter to dominate, you expect them to play top notch defense and be able to bunt and ocassionally come through. The past month BA has probably had more big hits than anyone not named Jermaine Dye or Joe Crede.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) This was about the time last year where you and I started saying that all we have to do is make the playoffs, and then all the pressure will be off. I'm a born pessimist, but I just don't have that feeling with this year. This team has no chemistry, and the players just don't seem to care. Oh ya, last year we were right on about that. This year I have the exact opposite mind set. I think if we make the playoffs we have very little chance. The only reason I'd give us any chance is the fact that no team in baseball (at least playoff wise) really has a rotation that scares you.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) Why do we suddenly stink? Minnie must love kicking our ass so much. This is on KW, not Ozzie. He's the one who signed Mack and counted on BA and his spiffy .220 batting average instead of Rowand. Greg, look at the stats. Rowand has done nothing in Philly and he doesn't even hold BA's jock strap defensively. Offensively Rowand has also been worse the past two months. This isn't on Kenny, albeit he should have gotten us an extra outfielder that could play CF. However, there is no reason to not play the best defensive cfer in baseball (statistically speaking) damn near every day (and that person is Brian Anderson).

I just got to say, for good analysis all you have to do is check out every episode of Soxtalk on the Air because I have consistently been accurate on this team almost all season. It sucks too cause I wish I would have been wrong. Ozzie will inevitably be back next year and all we can do is hope that Kenny finds a way to get some more pitching that will be so good that it will once again be capable of overcoming Ozzie's idiotness.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) I really don't want to hate Mack because of this either. I love the effort he puts out there, but you can't fault him that Ozzie continually plays him out there. If Rob was hitting .250, we likely wouldn't ahve this problem. Whoah, dont' think I'm hating on Mack. Its not his fault the manager continues to put him in a spot where he's destined to fail. Its no different than running Freddy out as a CFer (the guys a pitcher, not an outfielder or in mack's case the guys a corner outfielder not a CFer). Oh and I'd have no problem if Mack started in CF once every 2 weeks as a way to keep Brian fresh or every once in a great while when Mack has sick career numbers against some guy (of course i'd prefer it if when he had those numbers we put him in LF for Pods).

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) Contreras is just brutal now. Well thats been obvious for the past few months. I've been laughing at anyone that still considers him an ace. He's fallen far too in love with all those arm angles and has gone completely away from his fork ball.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) Well, I really hope Ozzie isn't brought back next year. Let's give Dustry a try! Razor Shines with Sandy Alomar moving in as the bench coach. Get er done.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) Good. I hope Ozzie learns. Garbage. He had 3/4's of a season to learn. The guy's just a dumbass. I hate to be overly harsh but I get sick of getting beat because we have a corner outfielder playing center a few times a week. Its a f***ing joke and I wish someone in the media would stop kissing ozzie's ass and start asking him the right questions.
-
f*** Ozzie. You know what, we know its going to be a low scoring game so what the f*** do we have Mack again. This team is worthless thanks to its clueless dumbf*** manager. I'm sick of this bulls*** and the media giving him a million excuses and putting s*** on other people. The guys a f***ing idiot when it comes to managing a baseball team. He got the best out of his players last year but it ain't going to work out that way too often. Last year we had the pitching to overcome his idioticness, this year we don't. Oh and I'm not saying BA catches that ball, but he'd have a better shot than Mack.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) It absolutely boggles my mind people actually think the White Sox hitting coach needs to be shown the door. If Greg Walker is doing a bad job, what's Don Cooper doing besides stealing a check? At least the hitters have performed better than anyone could have hoped this season. The pitchers have a collective ERA equal to the Cleveland Indians, and look at their record. FYI I don't blame the pitcher's inability to consistently pitch good games on Cooper. I think he's a good pitching coach who people gave way too much credit to last year. Of course apparently the Indians rotation is amongst the best in baseball, the problem with the Tribe is there pen which is absolutely brutal. That said the Tribe has a good offense yet somehow us with our offense has been able to put together a far better record (like you said DA).

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) If he's getting called up, does this mean Thome is being DL'ed? That could very well be the case. Its interesting considering he last played on August 10th. That said he was making some strides prior to going down. You just wouldn't think a guy that hasn't played in two weeks would get called up, than again with Ozzie sometimes our callups make little to no sense because if he likes a guy he wants him up regardless of how he's doing in AAA.

QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) So Good, i recently found out you can order chicken and steak for the same burrito and they don't charge extra , imagine the possibilities . Also it doesn't really bother me that they are owned by the McDonalds corporation. Ya, one of the first ones was opened by me about 4 years ago and I live off that stuff whenever I want fast food. For me its either Chicken Burrito with black beanes, rice, medium salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce or Chicken Taco's (I ask them to put rice in it, its free too). Both are freaking outstanding. And every once in a while I'll go with there chips and guac and its awesome. They have great guac. Plus at least out here if you show student ID you get a free pop so its a pretty heatlhy, clean meal thats damn tasty for 5.50 or so.

QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) So? I mean, yea, he'd have to clear waivers since he's on the 40-man roster, but its still possible to trade him. Especially if the trade was with one of the poorer teams in the AL.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Um, it's after July 31. And the Mets just acquired Shawn Green. Trades can still be made.

QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:27 AM) Chipotle is delicious, I'm a proponent of both their Chicken Burrito(rice,black beans, chicken, mild, cheese, guacamole, sour cream) and their chips; lime salt? is awesome.
