  1. QUOTE(TLAK @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) Jerry Owens was on White Sox weekly a few minutes ago and said he heard through his agent that 'something' might happen today. Thats all he said. I wonder if that something would be him getting traded or him replacing Pods in the outfield.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Sox fans love to blame the hitting coach. The guy whose actually done an oustanding job and right now is probably considered (league wide) as being one of the better hitting coaches in all of baseball.
  3. Anyone taking there time to post about the Sox on an internet board is a real fan. Case closed, imo. There are rare exceptions that aren't but you lost me when you try to make yourself out to be a bigger/better fan than anyone else. We are all Sox fans here, and saying your better than any of the members at Soxtalk, well its like walking into an AA meeting and saying your a bigger alcoholic than anyone else in the room.
  4. Guerrier is so good. I was a big fan of his and hated when we dealt him for Marte (obviously that was a good move for us though). But man we are gonna have trouble hitting him, it always seems like we do. Hopefully Javy can stay strong and stay out of the big inning.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) I hated Super Troopers, so I'm going to pass on this. A typical critic you are, hating on the good movies like super troopers while you watch BrokeBack mountain for the 20th time.
  6. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) You did a lot of leg work on this one. Looks good to me. Complete games from here on out is absurd, but 2 to 2.5 runs seems doable. I think all you guys are ridiculously optimistic. He's due for at least a bad outing and that would pretty much throw that 2 to 2.5 runs theory out the window. I just hope he pitches like he has and goes 6-7 innings giving up roughly 3 runs per.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Mackowiak did homer off Radke the last time he faced him there for Mackowiak >>> Anderson. Career Vs Radke: BA: 1-2, 2B Mack: 3-8, 2B, HR We'll never get a f***ing answer from Guillen simply because of the pussies who run the media in this city. It's unbelievable that Ozzie could do so many god damn interviews every week and not a single member of the media has the balls to call him out on his love for Mack/hate for BA. Mike North did an interview with Oz this morning, not even a mention of Mackowiak. It's sickening that we'll never get answers to all the questions we have. I only have 3 and I'll never get a real answer to either. 1.) Why would you EVER start Rod Mackowiak in CF over Brian Anderson? 2.) Why was a REAL 4th outfielder never acquired for this team? 3.) What the f*** happened to Freddy Garcia's arm? Couldn't have said it better myself. Although I wouldn't mind asking him why he retarded McCarthy's growth.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) I would LOVE to hear a reason for Mack in CF tonight. I usually dont go that hard on Ozzie, but unless Anderson broke his arm diving for that ball yesterday, there is no excuse for Anderson not being in CF. There isn't one. Ozzie's use of Anderson and Mack has been absolutely retarded just like his use of Bmac. I thought he had figured things out with Anderson but apparently he hasn't. Whats even worse is Javy is on the mound and he wets himself like a kid whenever a blooper falls and those are for more likely to happen with Mack out there than BA.

    Lunch

I bbq'd a piece of chicken and had it with rice and sauteed mushrooms. It was delicious.
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) I think Ozzie is very close to pulling the plug on Pods as a regular. Just from his comments, he seems to be getting little digs in lately. All season that appears to be the case. The thing that dissapoints me is he's made an example out of Uribe and he's done it to other guys at times, yet he really hasn't done it to Pods. I really dont' get it.

QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) I need to watch super troopers again. Farva is possibly the best character in any movie ever Does that look like spit to you? Ah f*** it (he takes a bit bite into the burger).
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 06:31 AM) I have to say, Jim and I are struggling with the 61 home games this year. The # goes up every year it seems and we are never home over the summer. We are thinking about scaling it back next year. Season seats are hard cause you can't possibly make it to all the games. We give out a lot of ours for work purposes but we've also started selling them on the exchange which is really nice. Of course I don't think we are gonna pony up for the Angel playoff tix. 5200 bucks thrown down in advance for next years seats doesn't seem like that good of a deal to me (considering our playoff tickets are a little more than the entire regular season). I just know that we are guaranteed our seats as full time season ticket holders, but maybe that changes if you have in the lower level (we have UD seats). OH and of course I'm not talking about the White Sox.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) Why I let this team screw with my hopes, I really dont know anymore, but I am pumped about this series. I have an odd feeling Vaz is going to step up tonight, and this team is going to show some fire. God I hope im right. Way to set yourself up. Best thing I ever did was write this team off (unless Vaz mans up and develops into the pitcher scouts think he can be) because now I can just watch the games and enjoy them. Yesterday's game was one of the most enjoyable Sox games in a long time. I've finally gotten over the high expectations and learned to relax and just enjoy the games. If we win great, if we lose, not the end of the world. You can't win every game and you can't win every year. Obviously I'd like to this year, but for that to happen Jose and Javy will have to really man up so I guess this series will be a microcosm of the remainder of the season because if those two can step up we win this series and if those two step up (to go with Jon) we officially become the team to beat in the postseason, imo. I'm bolding that cause I really think that will be the key to our season, Jose and Javy developing into front line guys to go with Jon.

Ya, I think I'm going to have to check that out simply because its the same cast as Super Troopers. Than again Club Dread was awful but It looked awful in the previews too.
  15. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) English please? Technical problems are frustrating us
  16. Waiting for the DNS to kick in, its taking a bit longer than expected but figured I'd give you a heads up here. Hopefully by Monday, DNS should have kicked but its lagging and than just the final details which we can do over the weekend if all goes smoothly.
  17. Ya it seems odd considering the Sox pionereed a ton of stuff in the area of promotions.
  18. I've seen that site a few times and honestly have no idea what it is.
  19. The fact that he was a clean player could really help him get through since he may be one of the first clean hitters to have a legit chance 6 or 8 years from now (depending on how long Frank continues to play).
  20. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) The boobs and the karate chop on the snake really did it for me. Oh ya, the boob seen I almost peed myself, that was so great. Even the pissing scene was classic and well almost every Samuel L Jackson line was great. Especially his I'm sick and tired of these mother f***ing snakes and than shoots the windows out. Oh and I almost forgot, when the FBI is in the helicopter going to the guy who has all the snakes house and he comes running out of the house and falls over, that was classic too.
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) Did it work? Oh ya, no more ants in my room. Where I live we have major ant problems (kind of the whole city does) and my house is super clean (no thanks to me, but my mom is a clean freak) yet we have ants living in our rooms despite the fact that there is absolutely no food. I finally got sick of waking up in the middle of the night feeling some sort of ant crawling on me (I guess its better than waking up with a snake or something crawling on me....damn snakes on a plane). Than once winter comes they will dissapear, but in the summer...ants take residency.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) On the birght side, Jason, at least DBAH0 will probably still be up at 6 to help his mom garden. Oh man, if I had to get up at six today, I'd have been screwed. I think I finally laid down around 3 AM and I had been up since 5 AM the previous day because I was stupid enough to spray raid in my room to kill some ants and decided I better sleep on the couch (as to not inhale all the raid while I slept). But my mom gets up for the start of the market every day now and that means I was forced into waking up or going into my room and breathing the intoxicating raid smell. Oh and Dbaho fertilizing his moms garden with vomit so does not count.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) I think we have our new slogan!!! QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) All though the toilet might hear from you... Thats if he gets lucky and finds the toilet.
  24. Screw that, I finally saw Snakes on a Plane. Way more serious than I expected but it was still solid and it also had some moments where I couldn't stop laughing.
  25. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 05:08 PM) Rex, I have a feeling your going to be REALLY dissapointed. Expect more about the QB dating the star cheerleader than football. I am interested in checking this out. Haven't seen the first episode but it sounds like MTV is doing this more as a documentary as opposed to how they do Laguna Beach.
