  1. I have that and myspace, but don't pay much attention to it. It was kind of cool seeing what some of your old high school friends/classmates were up to when I first signed up though. One nice thing about facebook is the event thing, makes it easier to tell an entire group about a party your throwing or a poker game.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Beat Italy and Ghana and the U.S. advances no question, but in that senario (assuming the Czech's win at least 1 of their last 2 games), the U.S. will be the #2 coming out of the pool and will probably have to play Brazil as a result. Couldn't Czech's defeat Ghana and Italy defeat the Czechs with the US defeating Italy and Ghana, meaning you have 3 teams that went 2-1.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) A.J. with an RBI fielder's choice.....ok. 6-0, 1st and 3rd for Crede. I thought that was going to be his 3rd double play. Crede goes down on a high heater from Benoit. Sox up 6-0
  4. QUOTE(chuckywang @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) Who was the fifth starter last year? El Duque or Brendan McCarthy? Duque Konerko with an odd single, runners on the corners now.
  5. Hey Slav, you want to make me a sweet world cup sig with Donovan/Beasley/McBride on it.
  6. Damn...great play by Crede, but safe. Did the replay show he was out????
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:07 PM) Gage, you used to be my joke writer. Now, you're fired. I'm confused.
  8. Wow, great AB for Anderson and he draws the walk. Really good string of two games going for BA.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:02 PM) Crede hits it far too hard. You have to give Koronka a hand for sticking it out.... Dammit Gage, you're fired. What for? I emailed Omogrosso today. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:04 PM) I love Fullerton. They are so well coached. Close game though, you guys got a shot. Tied up...I'm a little slow.
  10. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) Hey, 2-1 Georgia now... True Jas, but 8 HRs in the first game, then they absolutely collapsed in the 2nd game after being up 4-0. This team is so so young. I love Fullerton. They are so well coached. Close game though, you guys got a shot.
  11. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) I'm glad the Sox are off to a good start. USC looking rather lost right now against Georgia They had a hell of a first game against Georgia though.
  12. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 08:25 AM) Dick, all we can do as Sox fans until the climate changes is fill USCF, watch the games to lift the ratings, buy the gear (more World Series gear, hopefully ) and patronize sponsors of White Sox baseball. The tide IS turning, albeit slowly. The White Sox's attention to families and children is now and will continue to gain new fans and young fans. As the Cub demographic grows older and the new Sox fans become the ones with expendable income, you'll see the shift exposed more in the media. Harping on about it ad infinitum does very little, IMO. Also, I have no problem seeing 2 positive Sox stories and 5 negative Cub stories. That's another "statistic" Hangar ignores - how many of the Cub articles would actually sway a fan to root for the Cubs? If I read yet another Kerry Wood DL story and another story detailing the mysterious litany of Mark Prior ailments, I am NOT thinking, "OOOOOH, I GOTTA go see Carlos Marmol pitch on Monday!!!!" As long as JR and KW stay the course, I see good things in the Sox's future, and the media will not be able to ignore it. Great post Critic. We got a shot to have a fun few years ahead of us.
  13. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Last year I used to post that when I look at the tigers lineup I find it hard to believe that they don't have a much better record. On paper, they were terrific. I'm doing the same thing this year with the Indians. Last season's second half charge aside, I think they could use a managerial change. Something's not clicking like it should under Wedge. Just look at the rotation and bullpen and there record should start making sense. Oh and the fact that they are freaking horrible defensively.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Is Pablo the greatest player in major league history? I think so. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) Anyone Realize the Rangers have turned 2 double plays already this game? If they didn't we could have another 5 runs.
  15. I have no idea if Itzuris will be healthy, but you guys that think Citron is better are freaking nuts. 1st off, a healthy Itzuris is better defensively than Uribe and 2nd off, the guy was still incredibly raw when he first came up with the Dodgers, he had a few really strong runs where he showed he could hit, and his only major concern (aside from the elbow) would be his plate discipline. Soxtalk grossly underates Itzuris. You won't find many smart Dodger fans who really would like to see Itzuris go, the only problem is they don't really have a spot for him.
  16. Anderson freaking tatooed that double. He has 3 hits in the past 2 games now, and still has more time today, but I'm happy with 1 hit from him
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 12:48 PM) Goal by Pirlo! The free kick king! When they said that the ball is more aerodynamic and would move more in the air, the 1st player I thought of was Andrea Pirlo. Looks like Gilardino tipped it possibly. 1-0 Italy. This game reminds me a lot of the Serbia/Netherlands game. Serbia had better chances but the Netherlands was able to capitalize. Italy capitalized. Of course, a US update at halftime. Why wouldn't there be a US update at halftime. If we were in Germany they would be giving constant updates of the German team. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) They were hoping for a draw between Ghana and Italy but Italy pulls it out 2-0. They basically have to beat Italy and hope Ghana takes the Czech Republic or at least draws with them. And then they have to draw or beat Ghana and hope Italy and the Czech's beat up on eachother and don't draw. If it comes down to goal differential, they will be f***ed. If they win 1, lose 1, and draw 1, then it comes down to goal differential. Just beat Italy and Ghana and they should be in decent shape, correct?
  18. Download the Show The White Sox went 4-2 against central division foes Detroit and Cleveland with the only two losses being poor starts by Jon Garland and Freddy Garcia. Mark Buehrle regained his ace-ship during the week and Brian Anderson and Juan Uribe were given votes of confidence by Ozzie Guillen. 19. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) For sure? MSNBC says this.. "It was not known whether Roethlisberger was wearing a helmet when he crashed." During the world cup they broke in and said he wasnt wearing a helmet
  20. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) For all our athleticism, we looked MUCH slower than the Czechs today. I don't think it was just the style -- we kept getting beat to ball, trapped by aggressive charges, the defense was run through and gave everyone an hour to collect themselves for the shot. That was the most surprising thing to me. Ya, they played tenative and did a lot of standing. I do think they really lost a lot of confidence falling behind 1-0 very ealry on. Its not like our guys don't have cup experience, so we really don't have an excuse. I still say we have the talent to get out of this group, but it will be really tough now. In 4 years time we should be an even bigger cup contender and even if we totally tank this year, I know the talent is there and I think we'll see a far sharper match next week. Our defense really sucked though, as bad as the offense was, our defense gave up 2 goals on horrid plays and the 3rd goal we made another mistake where we had the opportunity to tackle him in the open field and didn't.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Haha, that would be sort of the ultimate insult wouldn't it? Having your spelling corrected by you. Ya, its a sign that you've reached rock bottom. So if I do ever correct you, head the warning...up next will be the intervention
  22. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) Despite the fact that he wears one at his job. I've heard broken jaw, facial lacerations, missing teeth... and have also heard severe concussion, partially-collapsed lung and broken leg, but can't confirm that. I don't ride bikes, cause I know I'm one of those dumbasses that gets cocky and than does something stupid and gets hurt. Did that this winter snowboarding (f***ed my knee up real good for a while) and I try to be real careful with that. Although it sounds like he just rides so its not like he was trying to be doing trick after trick in his croch rocket like a dumbass. Still, you should always wear a helmet.
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) This just goes to show how s***ty FIFA rankings are. More so how s***ty the US played. And i think SSI is onto something when he mentions how our top players all are staying locally to play in the less talented MLS. Because of that our players raen't able to get better. We are one of the most athletic teams in the country and played a slow tempo style that really was ugly. We are a far better team than that, but we may have just dug ourselves into too deep of a hole.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) I hate you. I saw it, but figured in no way should I ever be allowed to correct anyone in this site for spelling/grammar.
