Ya, if you could make it 325 width and Who's that would be sweet Deploder. And the one that is the current size may be able to work for something else (if you can switch it to Who). Otherwise cool stuff.

New Site: TalkBears.com
Soxtalk.com will continue its expansion today, by launching a site, one devoted to the beloved Chicago Bears. This site, TalkBears.com, will be the first of a larger network of Chicago Sports sites that we will be building on our new network, TalkChicagoSports (TCS). Soon to follow the TalkBears.com launch will be a launch of a Chicago Bulls website. We hope to expand the passion that is Soxtalk to other teams fans and try to create that same passion on the web for Bears fans. So if your a Bears fan or have friends/family that are Bears fans please tell them to check TalkBears.com out. The site will begin as one forum, but will eventually expand to have offtopic discussions. Once the site takes off we will upgrade to the version of the site that is used at Soxtalk and in the near future TalkBears will also have a front page. Hopefully everyone enjoys it.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 07:19 AM) Some say it certainly helped Northern Iowa last year. I was thinking last year was when Iowa's AD was one of the higher ups and he had to leave when discussions came up in regards to his team (maybe it was the year before that though)???

Golf ball size hail

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) I am not a fan of UCLA at all. Not only are they in a s***ty conference, they lost to Washington twice, and the best team they beat in non-conference play is probably a toss-up between Nevada and Michigan. They rely very heavily on Afflalo and Farmar, and if one of them has a bad game they are probably done. Mbah A Moute is passable but far from stellar, and Bozeman is really only useful as a defender. Honestly, their offensive options are weaker than Illinois', and their defense isn't as solid. They'll get out of the first round, but I'd guess they'll go down to the 6 seed they'll probably play in the second round. They should be a beast next year though, with another year of experience and Shipp coming back from injury. Statistically speaking, UCLA is one of the best defenses in the country. There adjusted defensive efficiency is 8th in the country. Shockingly Iowa is 2nd in the country . Kansas is #1. Thats from some stat website I was looking at. So I'm going to totally disagree with where you knock UCLA's defense. They will be in the elite 8.

Bears To Target Randle El
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) If we have the cap room, I'm ok with overpaying for him. I don't know if you watch Chicago Bears football week-in-and-week-out, but, the added dimension he would add to the offense is worth overpaying. True, he is not #2 WR material, but, he is fine in four receiver sets, he can throw the deep-ball, and would slide right in as the return man. The markets are all crazy now anyway. For every quality signing, there are four irrational ones. The only game I missed in the past 4 years was the final game of the regular season this past year (the Vikings game). It was my break to get ready for the playoffs And I'm not ok with overpaying. We are in a good cap position because Angelo has had success in the draft and has been smart with who he's given contracts to and how he's given out the contracts. He's a very cap savvy GM and with his ability to find talent in the draft as well, it means he should be able to make us a contender in this league, year in, year out. That said if I'm shocked and he ends up signing a modest contest, I don't mind Randle El. He's a good guy who played good in the playoffs and is a playmaker.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 01:03 PM) ^^^^x100. Im almost getting sick of myself because it seems like thats all I post anymore. We need at least 1 more veteran in pen. I threw out the name Ray King, but there 20+ other guys that fit the bill, and will be available by June. I'm totally with you two. One now, one at the deadline.

i have a terrible feeling...
QUOTE(TLAK @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) I'd like to add that Cintron, based on the numbers, is a much better middle infielder than either Ozuna or Mack. Mack can hang with him at 3B but Cintron is head and shoulders better in the middle. Ozuna can earn his keep with his legs and his bunting. While he can survive at just about every position, which lets you use him in a pinch role without burning two players, I don't think he would be first choice to sub a whole game at any position. I agree. I think on our bench in terms of players go...Cintron, Mack, Ozuna. Mack and Ozuna can also play the OF (Mack can even play CF) so all 3 provide versatility. With the bat I think Cintron is the best of the bunch.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) Baj is much more valuable than Ginter was. Noone's gonna rip on Cintron if he produces like he has in the past. If he sucks as much as Timo, well, yeah, then he'll be a goat. I don't really think so. I think both were pretty much not so valuable. We got Timo cause the Mets saved like 1 mill and we got Cintron cause the Dbacks saved like 1.6 mill. Neither Baj or Ginter would get you much at the time. Ginter would have been the more highly touted one though (higher draft pick, actually was hyped at one point during his career). Had one run of success with the Mets, but Cintron is a better player than Timo and I would agree that Baj is a better player than Ginter (but I don't know if he was more valuable in a trade sense).

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) I also love the playmakers they have on that team. As long as Bozeman is healthy when having him and Farmar out there, you got two tremendous creators. With a team that has this much talent, that's pretty scary. Good news for UCLA fans is that Bozeman is looking solid today. The route is on. 16 point lead now. They are just running away with this conference tourney.

NFL Off-Season Rumor Mill
QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Weren't they 6-10? Yea, its not far off, but in the NFL, two games is a lot. I watched quite a few Browns games (the Bar I go to is predominantly a Browns bar; probably 20-30 Browns fans there every Sunday) and they lost a ton of games that they could have and probably should have won. I wasn't watching the games too indepth, but I noticed they were one of those teams that could have picked up a few more wins than they did. Of course they beat the Bears in a game we should have won. But the Bears played conservative.

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) that Cintron will replace Timo as the whipping boy. Both were traded for in spring training for flailing AAA pitchers. By all accounts Cintron is more talented*, but i think he will be it. More like Cintwrong, amiright? *impossible not to be true. I think your way wrong. Cintron has such a pretty swing. In fact if Iguchi hickups in his 2nd year, I have zero problem with Cintron stepping in as a starter. He's been drilling the ball in the WBC too. Hit a HR for Puerto Rico (Bernie Williams also hit a big time bomb; looks to be in tremendous shape). But I was watching the Puerto Rico/Mets game about a week ago and saw Cintron hitting. The boy can hit. I don't know what kind of a fielder he is and I realize he doesn't have a great OBP, but I wouldn't be too concerned about his bat. Its a pretty swing.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:36 PM) UCLA has absolutely everything to make a run. They're number 3 on my big board right now. With Hollins playing well now, they got a 7 footer who can play down low, they're one of the best defensive teams in the nation, and their guard play is absolutely fantastic. I love this UCLA team. Plus while the Pac 10 is down, they typically get strong play in the tourney. Washington is another team on the rise, but not near as loaded as the Bruins. Arizona just isn't clicking this year though. I love what Howland has done and UCLA has some stellar recruits coming in. They will be a dynasty in basketball once again thanks to Howland. Plus I love West Coast schools and its great that the best college basketball school ever is on the west coast (thats right UCLA; thank you John R. Wooden). I'm actually thinking UCLA has an outside shot at the final 4. They are a really talented team whose deep thanks to all the guys that were inserted into more important roles earlier in the year when the starters were dropping like flies.

You know whose really playing great right now..UCLA. I realize they are beating up on the down pac 10 conference but they are playing strong defensively and the team has grown a lot and responded well to all the injuries. Plus Ben Howland is a very good head coach. The only thing is they'll need to get Bozeman back healthy. I'm putting them down as an elite 8 team.
