  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) Look whose back in the 8 seed in the East. Must win tommorrow vs. Toronto. Are you kidding me? If the season ended today would we really be the 8th seed? If so, thats pathetic, but I'll take it. Still I need to see this team play consistently like it did the past two nights.
  2. Have you two seen the movie? I haven't and I don't plan on it, but I don't know how you can definitively say its a piece of crap without watching it. It doesn't interest me one bit but to say its horrible is another story, especially since I've never seen it, nor will I. I never saw Titanic either.
  3. The Steelers turned it on in the 2nd half. I so hope they knock off the Colts next weekend.
  4. If you want us to change it to DaSox just tell us.
  5. He's gonna be a 1st or 2nd round selection unfortunately. What a freaking prick.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 12:53 PM) Well when they first came to be they got that one stud guy from the Jags who was apposed to anchor the line.... but than he could never come back from injuries so that kind of screwed them... and than they have just been using draft picks on other positions.. QB, WR, CB... If I had a build a team from scratch id start on the O-Line and the D-Line... they dont get as much hype as the other positions but in my opinion they are the most important part. Ya, Boselli not being able to get healthy really hurt him. Man was Boselli the freaking man too. One of the best OT's I've ever seen, but injuries cut his career short.
  7. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) Unfortunately, that didn't help Kordell's QB development, and I wouldn't do that to a guy like Vince who needs a QB coach to polish up his motion and reads immediately. Vince would flourish in a place like New Orleans, with Deuce in the backfield, and Horn/Stallworth out wide, that offense would be a better version of Atlanta's attack. Not to mention the large NO fanbase from Texas. I honestly don't see a chance of Reggie Bush/Vince Young being the top 2 picks in this draft, no matter who is making the selection. Scouts will be in for a treat when they see Bush, Vince, and Mario Williams do their thing in the combines. Ya, thats seriously the last thing I would do. You need to let Vince make adjustments and if you plan on using as a QB, dont 'have him messing with other stuff, just focus on the QB position.
  8. As a Bears fan I'll say one thing. This is a far better Carolina team than the Bears played earlier in the year (although Carolina was on a big winning streak when we saw them). The defense is playing great and they have realized that a semi healthy Deshaun Foster is there best back (with the ocassional dose of Gowens).
  9. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) Looks like Eli inherted the Manning family playoff gene (and this is coming from a Giants fan). :banghead I haven't even seen him throw to Shockey (although I've zoned out as this game has gotten worse and worse).
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) Tennessee doesn't really have a choice, since they pick after the Saints. They will end up taking whichever QB the Saints don't pick. If for some reason the Saints pass on a QB (can't see that happening) than Chow is gonna push for Leinart but if McNair is back he will be pushing and pulling for Young.
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 12:03 PM) http://www.southsidesox.com/story/2006/1/7/103541/0773 The Sox. They thought they were giving up too much. Gracias
  12. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) It was on the side of Cheat's blog yesterday. A guy heard the rumors about this deal last week, and he said Levine was on the radio yesterday saying the deal was nixed. Cool beans. Who nixed it? Sox or Phils
  13. Eli is continually playing worse and worse. His season has gotten crappier and crappier and now its accumulated in one giant piece of crap game in the playoffs. Why oh why did I give the Giants any credit. I should have remember how bad Eli has played the past few weeks (especially in terms of throwing picks). He just got a PI call to take away a pick but 17-0 drubbing thus far.
  14. Where...Tennessee. Well if Leinart goes #2 than I think Tenn takes Young. I still think Leinart goes ahead of Young.
  15. Is going to cry when Iowa beats the Hoosiers at least once this year

I ended up seeing Hostel last night. Its essentially a porn movie. Lots and lots of breasts in the movie (Lik the whole 1st half) and I can safely say that was the only decent part of the movie (the girls were hot). The movie had some laughs, but it was pretty pathetic. Oh and not that bad gore wise. One part was really gory and made the part of the body they cut hurt like hell. I'd say D movie at best. Speaking of NetfLix, they screwed up and instead of giving me land of the dead I got something like House of the Dead (or Cabin of the Dead). I only watched like 20 minutes of it, but it was seriously one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen (it dealt with these people on a boat that went to an island and zombies were on it). TERRIBLE.
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 10:42 AM) the texans need an entire football team basically. I'd trade the pick for as many draft picks as they can get. I'd probably do the same. However, if they could find a team thats picking high that wants the #1 pick where they could gain a couple picks and move down to say 4 or 5 and still draft D'Brickshaw, well than thats what I'd do. It was clear to me that the Texans problems stemmed 1st and foremost from a terrible offensive line. D'Brickshaw would be a big time move to help solve the problem. The guy is a STUD.
  18. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) Panthers up 10-0 at half. They are killing the Giants, just smothering them defensively. That said, its still a winnable game for the G-Men.
  19. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) you know what, in the fall when i was betting pretty constantly, i ended up making a 10 dollar profit after about 4 months of fluctuating, Guess it was alot of luck because i'm downright awful when i post on here. Nah, I think you tend to make more bold predictions. If you see the chance of an upset your willing to pick it, yet if you were gambling or something was on the line you'd be a little more conservative. But you are well known on here. I bet people have strategies on betting, if you predict it, take the opposite and you should be in good shape
  20. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 10:06 AM) hehe Don't worry, aside from that awful USC-UCLA pick, I'm pretty accurate when it comes to football. Of course I'll probably jinx myself and stink it up here. I will admit I was downright atrocious during this bowl run. But this year I've flat out owned in my NFL picks contest with my dad (against the spread). I'm at 64% right on the year (don't ask me how either cause I started the year horrid).
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) As a Bears fan - Go Giants! The Giants scare the absolute hell out of me as a Bears fan. Tiki Barber = AMAZING and I do think the Bears have a weakness when it comes to the run. I know it hasn't necessarily shown at times, but if you can run outside you can have some sort of success (ie Samkon Gado). But I guess I'm the only one who was worried at how easily the Packers shredded our defense (not once, but twice). Luckily we were able to force some turnovers. However, we did whoop the Falcons but that isn't saying much considering they absolutely folded down the stretch.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 02:45 AM) Am I the only one who really likes othella? Anyways, hopefully they're starting to get some s*** turned around, I'll be back at the UC on Monday so I expect a good showing against the red hot Raptors(that felt weird to say). I remember hating him early last season, but I have came to the realization that he's going to have to step it up and play like he has the past couple games if the Bulls are going to consisnently put together wins. I really like the new lineup and lately I have to also give Ben Gordon some credit. He's looked much much better since entering the starting lineup and has had a much better shot selection.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 8, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) I really dont think anyone is expecting Bentz or Redding or whoever else they sign to be a rock in the pen. If they are, then they are overrated Cooper in a big way. Its a very low risk signing, that could turn out to benifit the club in some way. Wasnt Ozuna basically brought in like this? Exactly, if you can ocassionally get these type of moves to pan out than it makes it all worth while and the Sox have found a few people this way over the past couple years that helped give the club quality players to round out the every day roster. I remember when this guy came up with the Expos. As far as Bentz goes. He was a 7th round selection and while he hasn't put up great numbers in the majors, he was semi rushed. His main problem appears to be command. Or at least that was the case in 04 with the Expos where he made 36 appearances with a 5.86 ERA. He gave up just 23 hits in 27.2 innings but also walked 23 while striking out 18. He also gave up a whopping 5 HR.
