  1. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:50 AM) The Indiana @ Iowa game tomorrow night is on ESPN @ 8:00 CT. the games I listed were CBS games only. Perfect. I prefer ESPN, they actually do the games in HD. Well at least all of the Iowa ones I've watched on ESPN thus far were on HD. Every once in a while I'll see one not, but I assume the Iowa/IU game will be Should be a doozie.
  2. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) Put down the bottle Note I said almost any team in the country. But the important thing is, once I get off my lazy ass you'll be sporting a sig as evidence that they could take down one of the best teams in the big ten
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 06:15 AM) So you're saying Lamar should never take more than 15 shots in a game? I don't know what their record is when he does take 15+ shots, but that's sure as hell not the reason why they're only a couple games over.500. All I'm saying is that Kobe can score all the points he wants. Him taking 35+ shots a night is not gonna do anything for his teammates or the success of the franchise in the long run. Jordan figured this out. Kobe's in his tenth season and still doesn't seem to understand that. Lamar blows. He gets boards and is a decent passer, but he's lazy on defense and is a horrific shooter. Kobe's whole team sucks, yet if he stays healthy they will find a way to get into the playoffs. Thats what I call amazing.

QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) I saw 2 pretty random "couple year old" movies today. Behind Enemy Lines - meh, was entertaining, but wouldn't watch it again. Enemy at the Gates - right up there in my favorite war movies of all time. Now i understand all the comparisons that were made when call of duty came out. Enemy at the Gates is one of my favorite all time movies. Just a total bad ass movie. Speaking of movies with Enemy in them, I also really like Enemy of the State (good, entertaining movie).

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) watch the first movie again. See Kraven's reaction when he finds out that she likes a human. Vampires aren't supposed to like Humans in this movie. Every one of them were at one point or another human. Like when the master in the 1st one (Victor???) saved the girl and turned her. There had to be a reason to that. Obviously, later on, we find out she had some important information from her childhood.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) Vampires can love humans. They just turn them. Also, Michael has no societal pressure against dating whoever he wants. Why? Just because they are 2 groups which fight? The only forbidden love in Underworld was between Lucian and Sonja, and it was due more akin to the child of a white slaveowner being in love with a black slave, not members of 2 rival houses. And again, Michael was never a part of the Lycan clan or the Lycan-Vampire war. Exactly
  7. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) I personally consider this the record for points in a game. Wilt chamberlain was against 6'4 ( on a tall day) unathletic white guys. There is a reason he averaged 50.4 points a game in a season and that is not because he was the best or most gifted player... he was very much so int he right place at the right time. Kobe bryant was ridiculous today and anyone who thinks/says otherwise is foolish and just a pure hater. Most players wouldn't have gotten off the shots he did in the late third quarter and fourth quarter. He is something to watch. Thank you qwerty. I figure you were actually watching the game as well cause anyone that hates on him for that performance is either deaf, dumb or blind (possibly all 3). And I agree with you. It would have been like Shaq going up against a team full of Luke Waltons or Kirk Hinrich's. Its just a totally new era and that was the greatest performance I've ever seen out of an NBA player (now I've seen more clutch performances in bigger games, but tonights game was just insane). In the 3rd quarter when he went on his initial explosion my dad and I just kept looking back at each other (after all his shots) just in total disbelief. This continues and (even as much as I hate Kobe) I was going nuts as he kept scoring and finding a way despite double and triple teams. He's so explosive to the basket and is great at finishing. Plus he can hit pretty much any jumper he takes and has really improved his 3 point shot.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) Shut the f*** up Adam Haluska. Just like you didn't hear the fans at ISU. Just jealous that he left ISU for Iowa. And yes we did basically beat that team last year. We are capable of beating any team in the Big 10 and almost any team in the country. Doesn't mean we are going to do it. Iowa isn't some piece of s*** team without any skills. They don't play consistent enough and don't have the offense thats needed but they play very good defense (only weakness defensively is an ocassional flaw in transition defense; still one of the best defensive teams in the big 10, imo). Of course I think MSU is one of the best teams in the country.
  9. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 07:50 AM) A few notes for fans of other Big Ten teams outside their viewing areas.... Sunday February 12 Illinois @ Ohio State (noon CT) is being broadcast nationally, but NOT in HDTV. Saturday February 25 Michigan @ Ohio State (12:30 CT) is being broadcast regionally with the opposing game being Louisville @ West Virginia. Neither is in HDTV. The semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament on March 11 and the finals on March 12 will be shown nationally in HDTV. One (non-Big Ten) side note: The Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship Game this year will be broadcast nationally by CBS @ 1pm CT on Sunday March 5. Here is the complete college basketball schedule for CBS for the rest of the season. College Basketball on CBS Cripes...is the Iowa/IU game not on TV? Cause it should be. Thats gonna be a really good game.
  10. Today's game pisses me off like no other. I pretty much knew as long as Alexander was alive, Seattle would whoop Carolina. The thing that pisses me off is that the Bears defense is superior to Carolina's yet our s***ty ass coaching staff (good ole Rivera was busy looking for a job during the bye week; he doesn't deserve to be a head coach just yet) decided they were better than preparing for a team. Stupid ass coaching staff. We should have not only beat Carolina, but beat them good.
  11. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) I agree, it was absolutely disgusting for Toronto to allow this. Once past 70 points, Kobe would have been double--if not triple teamed if I were opposing him on the court. Not to mention the rib shots and hard elbows he'd receive. Stormin' Normin' Van Leer would know what to do.... I assume you guys didn't watch the game (I think I watched all but about 5 minutes of it) and he was getting double and mostly triple teamed the entire 4th quarter. It didn't matter. In this one quick stretch of the 3rd he went totally off though. It was insane. And I hate Kobe, but I'm more than willing to admit he's a hell of a player.
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) It was a great performance overall. I just don't believe in distorting a game that's already over to pad your point total. I remember many times in where Jordan could've went out there in the 4th quarter in games that were already decided simply to pad his point total. I just don't get the Raptors mentality. I would've clobbered Kobe if he was out there trying to show me up like that. The game has really changed over the years. 62 points through 3 quarters earlier this year and he wasn't in. This game wasn't the blowout you all thought it was. Lets not forget the Raptors were up big in the 3rd quarter at one point. Kobe singlehandedly brought this team back in it.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Not to sound like a hater, but Phil, Kobe, his teammates and the entire Raptor team should be ashamed of themselves. First of all, the game was over with like 7 minutes to go. Why is he still in the game? What if he gets hurt? Second, each one of Kobe's teammates refused to shoot the ball so Kobe could pad his point total. Third, the Raptors offered no resistence whatsover. You've got a guy out there showin you up when the game is long but over. They rarely bothered to double. Man, atleast make the guy feel it when he goes to the basket. It's like they wanted Kobe to run up his point total. If anybody tried to pull that s*** 15-20 years ago, they would've left the game on a stretcher. Dude they were freaking triple teaming him in the 4th quarter. The rest of his team is inept. Kobe scored like 27 points in the 3rd quarter and I think the rest of his team had like 4 or 6. They are f***ing terrible. As far as him staying in, the game wasn't a blowout with 7 minutes left. They started blowing them out but it wasn't a done deal. Once they were up why not let him go for the record. You don't think that stuff happened in Wilt's magic game. Come on.
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Kobe has 81. P.S. He's the best player in the NBA. That was just a sick game. They were down by like 18 or so at one point in the 3rd quarter and ended up winning by 18 or so. The guy was ridiculous. I agree he's the best scorer in the NBA. Don't know if he's the best player but he's one of the top 3 guys. Only thing I don't like is that he doesn't make the other guys better. Tonight he told the rest of the team to f*** off (they were playing worthless) and he just went on a tear. I give him credit though, he's totally carrying this squad. Without him one of the 3 worse teams in the NBA. With him, they will probably get one of the last 2 spots in the west.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) I'm pretty sure he was at the 4. But I can't say positively because I didn't watch much of the game. Ya, he was at the 4.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Leadoff by pushing the analog stick to the left. Its the same as in last years.
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) it's like the old high heat games. Basically, you point the analog stick to where the ball is going to end up. IE: a high fastball, hold up on the analog and swing, low and away breaking ball, point the analog toward it and swing. It's different from classic because in classic, you can basically hit anything out by holding up and swinging. And in zone hitting, you can use the power/contact mode hitting. I like it alot. I don't get it. In classic on the higher levels I never was able to just hold up and hit homers. Most of the time pitchers throw the ball down anyway. But than again I'm feeble on offense.
  18. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 12:27 PM) i'm having a blast on varsity w/ zone hitting. Averaging from 3-6 runs. But i agree with you on the baserunnign stuff, you have to really pay attention and correct them right away. What the hell is zone hitting? Classic hitting is the same as last years system (correct?). Or am I retarded and using the directional joystick for no reason?
  19. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) No.f***ing.s***. I just went a 13 inning game with Nebraska only to lose 1-0. I cant hit worth a f***ing lick right now. I owned MVP last year on the 2nd hardest level(this years All American) but right now I cant do ANYTHING. I am having a hell of a time hitting on Varsity. Than again I don't have one hitter above 70 in either power or contact, but thats why my team is a D-. I had an 18 inning game that I won on a walkoff homer 1-0. I have started winning, but its solely because I can pitch (which is basically how the first month or so of me playing MVP seemed to be). I'm doing classic hitting though, none of that joystick for me.
  20. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 08:14 AM) Cadillac got more pub on that one run where he broke like 8 tackels on one play in week 1/2 than Ronnie got the whole season Caddy isn't as great as some of you think he is. He breaks some big runs, but he's a pretty crappy runner in terms of consistently getting yards. It seems like its big gain or nothing with him.
  21. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) I might go a little off topic here but: I dont agree, I think nowadays you want the type of player that breaks runs in midfield that can help a team get to the endzone, for example shaun alexander and larry johnson, and when they get down there they use players like Duckett and Bettis to bust it in or the qb sneaks it in or passes it. Tough to say this can go any direction personally Id rather have a player with speed who can break some big runs, kind of like warrick dunn, or cadillac, nowadays the trend is to have a good backup who can just go in for the one play and score, every player wants to score so its not like you can judge ones heart more than the others. Benson being beat up in college doesnt mean anything, who backed up larry johnson, no one, and now hes one of the best backs in the league, if I were the star player on the team Id want to be in every play, yes theres gonna be hits and injuries but Im sure the nfl scouts would like to see which players can rebound off of injuries and make some comebacks. And what did Larry Johnson do his first couple seasons? NOTHING. I can't believe how everyone seems to have written Benson off after just one season. Thomas Jones played great and we were winning. He got into camp late (blame him or blame mgmt, I don't care) and he's gonna have a full off-season and training camp (barring injury) to really adjust to the NFL. He will be a star in this league and the type of workhorse running back that I love.
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Me thinks Tyson should start more.... That was a really fun game to watch. The Bulls played consistent and strong. Chandler was the Chandler I came to expect last year and Othella did a good job. Othella can d up on centers and try to do what AD and Curry did for Chandler last year. I think Skiles should stick with that lineup. Noc is playing awesome though, tough to have him on the bench but he still gets tons of minutes.
  23. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 09:22 AM) How about this? That is freaking beautiful. Definately gonna impliment that. Thanks so much. Really appreciate it.
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) The Lakers were actually doing all right last year too..until Kobe got hurt in January and missed a couple weeks. By the time he was back, Rudy T was gone, and the team was in shambles and had basically quit. With that $10 million a year deal Brown signed...I doubt he cares if you think he's an idiot. Get enough popularity with that opinion...and he'll buy you off. Actually (well at the beginning of the week), the Lakers record this year was worse than their record last year (at this stage of the season) by something like 2 or 3 games. Rudy T was doing a great job but without Kobe they are probably one of the 3 worse teams in the NBA.
  25. Thats not Orton. His beard isn't close to being that thick.
