  1. Also has a pretty damn good hook. However, the way he was pitching against St. Louis he didn't even have to throw his curve. His fastball is disgusting. It just jumps out of his hands and is clocked in the mid 90's and can get as high as 96-97. He has had great command of it as well and when he's spotting it he doesn't even need to throw his curve much at all. His curve is a very slow curve as well, although he will ocassionally snap a harder one.
  2. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Thanks. Was it a one piece or did it come as vest and black undershirt? I was hoping to get it as a one piece jersey. I'm wondering about a number. I'd say putting #14 on there is a no-brainer, but if they don't resign Konerko, it becomes obsolete. #35 is a good choice, as you'd be harkening back to Frank's glory days. It was a 1 piece. I got mine with 41 and McCarthy on it.
  3. I just got one of these. They are called home vest. Triple Threat Sports had a sale when the Sox clinched the division and authentics were 99. I got mine and was wearing it this weekend when I was in Chicago and its pretty sweet. I'm sure you can find it elsewhere as well, but www.triplethreatsports was the website I think. Grandstand probably has them as well. Just know they are called home vest
  4. If given the choice, who would you take? Haren or Mulder I'd take Mulder. Now you may tell me its not that simple, but as of this point Mulder is the better of the 2 pitchers. However, Haren definately looks legit and should develop, but you never know what could happen. Calero didn't come close to reaching the A's expectations and Barton is still a minor leaguer. Financially speaking there are other aspects, obviously, but Mulder was signed to a reasonable deal. I think this is one of those trades that worked well for each team, but you can't tell me that Oakland blindly robbed the Cards. The Cards have a #2 pitcher with post-season experience thats entering the prime of his career while the A's have a #3 pitcher or a great #4 pitcher, whose still developing as well as a solid reliever (not a great one at this point..although he could return to form) and a good looking prospect, but in the end, he's still a prospect.
  5. Kalapse...that graphic is just sick. Rooftop, it could be that the image was pruned out. Every once in a while we clean out the server and I did that a while back and may have deleted it on accident.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) I refuse to put my marker on my house. Too many people around here who might want me out of the picture. Don't worry...Mike Caruso's got your back. Than again if he fights anything like he hit, your gonna be in trouble
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) jason's looking awful grizzly BRING BACK THE BACKSTREET BOY LOOK Backstreet Boys ALRIGHT Even more grizzly as of now. Hopefully it won't be shaven till the Sox are wearing their new rings.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) It could be worse... You could have had penis's on your head. :headshake
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) Who's the poindexter in the Sox hooded sweatshirt? Just the coolest guy eva
  10. Here's a link to pictures from the ALCS clincher in Anaheim. Most of them are of the celebration when tons of Sox fans were by the dugout cheering on the Sox. http://community.webshots.com/user/Bullsback Enjoy
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) this is exactly where i was thinking....i'll bet a million to one this is the reason. Just got your message (left my phone at home on accident). I'm hoping to have it up tonight, but have been messing around with trying to come up with a nice photo gallery for them. Got my fantasy draft in a few so if I don't get it done before that, i'll have em up for sure tomorrow. They came out great.
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Thanks Steff. I think it might be worth the risk, just based on a few things. 1) If I end up not scoring tickets, I will still be downtown, maybe trying to squeez my way into Jimbos or even hang out at Grandstand. 2) I am planning on going alone. My thinking if I go alone, I might be able to score a single game ticket for cheap. It could backfire however, if the guy only wants to sell a set. 3)I really am going to give myself a set limit, only bringing down $350, and having $300 for 1 ticket. We shall see what happens. Its if Saturday tony, there is a decent shot Mario and I will be there as well so if does come down to a situation like that, we could probably find a way. Usually though a scalper will be stuck with individual tix. THey may have 4 in one area and someone comes to buy 3 and then the 1 thats left now is an outlier and because of that you can usually get that single for less. That said, sometimes you can negotiate with them (especially if its late) for 3 seats too, because they now know they will get rid of 3 tickets (this is assuming they are at the point where all they want to do is unload them as fast as possible because the game is either 5-10 minutes from starting or has just started).
  13. Got my live draft for my fantasy basketball league tonight over at my buddies and I'm already exhausted. At one point this week, I'm so taking a nap.
  14. Got a question. Is there a way to cut a deal with a ticket broker or someone where if you wanted tix to one teams world series and you had tix to another teams series (obviously you can't really do it this year, but if it was ahead of time) would you be able to make some sort of deal with a broker so you could trade a set of world series tix to a team you didn't care for, for one that you do want to see. Like a Cardinal fan purchasing them and than dealing them for White Sox tickets (obviously this would have to be done in advance). Just curious.
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) For every game? Those are the 3 games I want for next yr. Also, do they go on sale when the regular Sox tickets go on sale? Will they do it like they did this year, where you can only get them by buying some sort of partial ticket plan or winning a lottery (which was done during soxfest)???

    SRO

    QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) I believe so but am not postive bue yes I could've sworn I saw tix selling for SRO(Standing Room Only) No options on ticket master. I don't think there is a standing room only section. If there was they'd of used it for the ALDS and ALCS as well.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 07:01 AM) 90210? Melrose Place? LOL...don't worry, Laguna Beach will be in the top 10 of the 21st century
  18. Interesting. I think Condoleza is a decent person, but I've long been a Dick Cheney supporter. I think he's a lot sharper than people give him credit for. I guess we'll wait and see what happens.
  19. Hopefully Ozzie will get the golden ring. On the sidenote, It finally hit me, Ozzie's gonna be coaching the all star game (unless he retires). I gotta be honest, I won't complain one bit if he retired since it would mean the Sox won 4 more games But hopefully they win 4 more and he comes back and they can start making a habit of playoff and world series trips.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Considering I have never been to a WS game I couldn't give you an answer. But if 300 or so is your limit, it probably is your best chance. I'd say you'd have a good chance. I went to a game in San Diego a few years back with my dad and we waited till about 10 minutes before game time and were able to get some seats on the field at face. As long as your patient I think you'll be alright. Obviously demand is going to be much higher for this, but regardless of that demand there are still going to be scalpers with boatloads of tickets in there hands and the closer to the event, the less you'll pay. I'd guess you'd have a really realistic shot of paying 2 times face on the ticket and you could find yourself doing better, especially if you wait till first pitch. You could even get lucky and find a family whose going and had someone get sick that is just looking to recoup the cost of the ticket. Often times thats how scalpers get tickets, they buy them off someone cheap and sell them for more.
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) You're booked Saturday night and Sunday. Drinks on me
  22. Guys and gals relax...were in the World Series...lets celebrate!!!!
  23. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) Look at the bright side... The new Ashlee Simpson cd came out today.... Whoa....whoah, that shouldn't be in green Alex On the bright side, my Brandon McCarthy jersey came in the mail today. Looks freaking sweet. Now hopefully he turns into the pitcher he's capable of being and was down the stretch
  24. If I can't find some tix at a reasonable price, I'll be in the city for the two games so I'm down for watching a game someplace with tons of Sox fans.
