I've long thought KW was going to be the guy that helped bring a World Series to the city of Chicago and I'm so glad he did it. This is a really great organization and its one thats in a position to make some consistent runs into the post-season. Lets hope this is just the start of something, but even if it is the finish...it was the sweetest finish ever!!! To Ken Williams...2005 Executive of the Year (in our hearts and minds).

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WORLD SERIES WINNER!!!!!!
Chisoxfn replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in 2005 Season in Review
I can't wait till Soxfest...I hope every player is there because they all deserve standing ovations. Hell, I'm thinking I need to make it out to Chitown for opening day next year. -
Oh and just because I want to...I told you all, this club was special and destine. I figure nows a good time to say this since the search feature was off. I recall Fathom and I both talking about how this club would just go on a total roll once they clinched the playoffs and they did exactly that. Way to go CHICAGO!!!

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) Going along with what Kap said....I don't think the season would be half as special without this great group of fans. Completely agree. This is the best sports related event of my lifetime and I'm never going to forget this season, EVER. I always will remember the Rally Crede for my entire life and all the good times on this board during this magical season!!!

Greatest sports related event of my lifetime. Thank you 2005 Chicago White Sox, for a season I'll never ever ever ever forget. And to everyone here at Soxtalk that I shared this season with!!!! -
I have a 40...fits me pretty good, but probably could have went with a 44. I've noticed some fit different. I'm 6ft (well half an inch under, but 6 sounds better).

First lets win this thing...than we can debate this. Come on Frederico!!!

Magloire Traded To Milwaukee
Chisoxfn replied to hammerhead johnson's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Great move by the Bucks if you ask me. Magloire, when healthy, is a near upper echelon big man and will join a pretty good group including the likes of Bogut and Gadzuric plus you have Michael Redd, Bobby Simmons, and TJ Ford (who should be 100%). The Bucks are big time sleepers in the East and are much improved. -
White Sox Autograph appearances

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) Jenks, Podsednik, and Garcia are all signing at the upcoming Sun-Times show. First shot to get a signed World Series ball. Prices are 25, 39, 39 respectively. I just watned to throw this out because in light of what you guys might fork over for soxfest tickets on the 2nd-ary market-it would be wise to order your tickets soon. I'm going for Freddy. PRetty excited about meeting him, I think this is his first public signing in Chicago outside of Soxfest last year (was he there?) He didn't end up making it to fest last year. He was on his honeymoon, IIRC. I hope we can win one more game...if we do, it will be the greatest Fest ever. -
I'll try to make it, but I doubt I'll be able to. Got work and by the time I get off it would be mad traffic to get down there.

1st we got to do it this year. Were in great position, but the club still needs to win 1 more game. The Astros didn't get here by being a bad team and they are perfectly capable of winning 4 in a row. Sure it would be incredibly tough, but tell that to Boston. 3 wins doesn't mean squat if we don't get that 4th. I'm not going to concern myself with anything until we win 1 more game.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 06:40 AM) Nobody on the radio, nobody on TV, nobody on this board. Nobody has mentioned the players last night celebrating while holding up the number 4. Willie was doing it, Widger was, everyone was holding up the number 4 in the late innings. And when Blum won the game for us, he walked to the dugout and everyone was giving high fives using the number 4. This is because the bench players were known as the forgotten 4 or the group 4 as they have been referred to on ESPN.com. They were all going crazy for the members of the 4 to be contributing and actually performing very well. Widge played well, Willie had a nice SB, Blum won the game, etc, etc. Many props. the four I was wondering why the hell they kept putting up the #4, LOL.

Aside from a couple mistakes last night, he's been tremendous. He's also looked excellent at the plate and showed some patience.

I don't really know whats going on, but I just want to say. All post-season I continued to say that in the end, we were going to need one good outing out of Marte and he gave it to us last night. Marte pitched excellent. You can knock his two walks, but he was pitching agressively and throwing strikes. He made good pitches and rolled right through the Astros, picking up his 1st post-season win. Damaso...I've bashed you a lot this final month, but you stepped it up big time today and next time they announce your name (even if its for another team) I'm gonna be giving you a standing ovation just for last night.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:54 AM) SnB and I were in the same spot in my apartment minus a few bathroom breaks and trips to my balcony to cool down. By the end of that game we were mentally and emotionally exhausted. SnB was even a bit delirious. I think at one point i told him that i could stay up for a week straight if that's how long the game went. It was unreal. My next door neighbors must think we're absolutely crazy with all the screaming and yelling, especially after Blum's home run. I tackled SnB onto the futon by jumping on him, nearly broke him in half. All I got to say is I'm really starting to buy into what you told Steff during Sunday's game...(about god).

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:51 AM) My fingers hurt.. LOL. I had 11 conversations going. Jason kept me off the ledge.. That was such an awesome win. That had to be better than the Pods win, simply because in the 9th inning, despite sounding like I had confidence, I totally thought the game was over and Duque was gonna give up a run.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:16 AM) I couldn't speak when Blum homered.. but when Crede's ball crept down the 3B line I did yell "fair ball, fair ball".. ya know.. in case they didn't know. I was just stunned when Blum turned on it. I was just yelling, get over, get over, get over and when it did I just pumped my fist. I was getting lower and lower on energy, lol. Than when the Widge walked for the insurance run, well that was great. Gotta give it up to Damaso too, he pitched great. Marte Partay

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) were you consulting your magic 8 ball again or what? nice prediction...just having some fun looking at old posts on Konerko. Haha, pretty nice. Of course I won't take any pride in this unless the Sox step up and win 2 more. I still say a lot of people are nuts, Paulie is gonna be back, even if the Sox have to offer him 12.5 mill a year or so.

I should add, he's their best pitcher and this is going to be a very tough game. Oswalt pitches like he can and there is a great shot the Astros get a W with Freddy than pitching game 4 for us in a hitters heaven, which isn't good for a fly ball pitcher like Freddy. This is a big game, if the Sox take this they will be in excellent position, however, if the Astros take this they are prime to potentially tie this series up at 2. Of course Freddy will be going up against the Stro's weakest starter in Brandon Backe.
