Nothing and I'm looking for 2 if anyone got lucky and wants to offer em up
-
Game 1 is entirely sold out. I got there with 4 people through the queve got that error message, dropped down to 2, got that error message, and now at 1 get that error message. Right at 12 I got through one on of them only to have it drop out with some stupid error message. Oh well, what you going to do.

Good luck everyone

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) That's been my backup plan all along. It'll be like that ESPN commercial...where someone is always going after the trophy (I think thats what they were going after). So Rowand will whack someone and say he's got tix, we'll all find him and it continues until the lucky person finds his way into the gates

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 07:38 AM) I'm sure they were bombarded with deposits. Considering this whole process takes human contact they are going to have a hard time reaching everyone by the time the tickets go on sale to the general public. I would imagine that the tickets that would be reserved by people making their deposits would be held out, but you never know. It wouldn't surprise me if they are contacting the people requesting the most expensive seats first. Ya, you got to figure when the tix get released to the general public they will be holding some back in an attempt to still contact the people who put down the deposits. In fact, I'd be shocked if they did anything less.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 06:28 AM) Yes and the White Sox make $2K on each World Sereis ticket sold insteead of $140. People need to realize that it is a big world out there and keeping the die hards happy isn't the goal of the White Sox nor should it be we follow them when they blow. Bandwagon is where the money is and this is the target not the die-hards. I am buying a full two seat plan (usually I have 27 game plan), am going to one WS game and selling the rest to pay for what I can not afford, a full plan next year. Who pays this for me, some guy I do not know. I do know this, I will be at a ton of games next year and will spend $$$ while there. I hope the guy that buys the scalped seats has fun and I would like to thank him. Next season if they go all they way, I'll be there for every step. If they suck oh well, that is KW's fault not Brooks. Brooks will have 1.6M tickets sold in February (this year they had 800K), KW needs to make it worth the time for the fans to be there. If the tickets were sold, the 15K for the Royals would've been 30K in September. Diehards like myself want to go, but trust me, In the long run if the Sox make the series and than go on to spend extra money and all that (which they will) I really am just fine with it (in fact I'm exstastic...if someone tells me that this means Konerko is resigned and because of that I may miss out on a series game, so be it in my book). Plus I'm gonna go crazy in excitement if they win the series (whether I was able to get to a game or not). Hell, I've been lucky enough to see 3 playoff games, one of which was the clincher against Anaheim.
-
I witnessed it in Anaheim. Winning and making it far in the playoffs has a way of creating a lot more diehard fans. It will have opened many casual fans up to the White Sox and they a lot of them may sit there and go, you know what, I'm a Sox fan now. You also have a lot of people (like many of us on these boards) that love going to games and get to a decent amount of them and than an opportunity like this, kind of pushes fans like us to getting season seats for the 1st time and than the hope is that you really enjoy the experience and continue to renew. But lets just win 4 more and see the season ticket base double.

I'd assume it would be Duque being replaced.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Ok, here comes another dumb question, what number should I call tomorrow? Should I call the ticketmaster number or a sox ticket rep? If its for season seats, a Sox ticket rep.
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) LOL, probably shouldn't have said anything considering I control nothing right now, it's all what my dad decides to do at this point. Haha, its all gonna be for naught cause were gonna get those damn world series tix tomorrow. Soxtalk is gonna get lucky
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) If you want to deposit some money to the rowand44 fund, I'll go in your honor. I'd deposit a decent amount to the fund if I were entitled to a Cubs game or so, a weekend series of some sort, and a world series game.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) I'd start trying earlier, since th deal ends at 11 tomorrow and there are probably hundreds of desperate folks like us who filled out the online orders and need processing. Hey Jason, use that supersecret Batphone number I'm sure you have and wake Brooks up so he can sort this all out for us right now. Brooks isn't able to sleep...he's getting calls from everyone and his brother begging for tixs or so I'd guess. Soon enough the CEO/Owner of Soxtalk may be begging

Man, if only I lived in Chicago. I'd bo so down for that deal. Its sweet for a diehard fan and gives you an awesome shot to get out to a ton of games next year.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) Yeah I paid the 50 % for mine right now. I figure no matter what I will still come on top. I figure I may just sell my WS ticket (if its only 1 all together Im getting) and using the profit as a HUGE discount towards my season tix. You could probably even sell the ticket now...than wait till the day of and buy one a little cheaper (since stuff is going for so much now). Although thats super risky. Me, I just want to go on Saturday. If I miss out on a ticket Saturday or Sunday I'm gonna try and get a ticket to the Bears game on Sunday, watch the Bears game and than see the Sox game at a local bar or something. I figure either way it should be fun.

If you guys have the scratch and it means you get 2 tix to each game, I'd do it. I know I'm totally against scalping them, but in that instance (if it were me), I'd take the 2 tix to each game, go to 1 (thats all I want to see, I'd love to see more, but I figure thats my best shot) and I'd sell the remaining 3 games seats at the 1000 bucks they are going for. You basically pay for everything. Thats why I just can't see the Sox doing that. All that said, like Jim says, it still means the Sox get there money. Great deal for all parties involved, especially if it goes to a diehard fan. However, if its as assumed, I can see why brokers would be all over this deal.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) That's what makes the most sense, but the way I read it they will give you a chance at purchasing 1 WS ticket for EACH of the 4 potential home games (if available) for every season package purchased: Like you said earlier, you could make your season ticket money back by selling one or two of those WS tix. But the die-hards taking the plunge now are not going to do that, and even if they do, the Sox still have succeeded in selling a season ticket package. Actually, reading that again, you can even see that is being able to buy 4 tickets...1 ticket to each game of the world series and you'd be on the hook for 4 season seats. Or you could go for 4 tickets to 1 world series game. Basically your limited to the amount of seats you have total. However, it says for each ticket you purchase. SO basically anyone who purchases a World Series ticket in advance (ie before they go on sale) is on the hook for a season seat for every ticket purchased to whichever game they want to see.
-
QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) so you saying 1 ticket all together? or 1 ticket each ws game? Im thinking its 1 ticket all together. 1 ticket to 1 world series game of your choice. Thats at least the way i read it and I'm 99% sure thats right. I'm agreeing with ya. Hopefully we'll all be able to get a ticket at face or at least close to face. Its not a bad deal though if you get a tix to a world series game and spend a 2000 or so on a season seat as long as you plan on going to a few of the games. Heck, sell the Cubs/Sox tickets your entitled to and that will pay a decent portion of your seats as well as the Yanks and BoSox games and than just enjoy the rest of the games. There are some ways you can pull it. We just calculated or season seats in Anaheim and we ended up paying (actual out of pocket) 2000 for 4 seats for the entire regular season and postseason in the lower part of the UD behind home (about 5 rows up in the low part of the UD). Obviously ticket prices differ, but we sold some of our playoff seats and sold ocassional seats during the regular season. We also gave away a ton of seats to clients, but they aren't a bad investment and than your allowed to see as many games as you want at a pretty good price.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) So wait wait wait guys. If I purchased 1 season ticket I'd be able to get 1 world series ticket per game? No, if you purchase 1 season ticket, you get 1 ticket to 1 game of the world series (from the sounds of it, it is a game of your choice).
-
QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) Are you sure? Ya, that 1st line says your eligible for 1 world series ticket per season seat purchased.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) That home run could go down as one of the greatest in postseason history if Saint Louis goes on to win the NLCS. Wow. 1-2 count, 2 outs, one out away from the first world series in team history and poof a three run homer and you're down 1 with one AB left. Wow. That was a no doubter the second it left the bat. Holy cripes did he clobber that. Total hanger to boot.
-
If you could buy 1 season seat and get 8 world series tickets I'd buy it, sell the world series tickets (some of em) and that would pay for that 1 season seat that I'd never use, which is why I assume they wouldn't allow for that.
-
I'm assuming its a maximum of 8 WS tickets and thats only if you buy 8 season seats. My guess is 1 WS ticket for 1 game per season ticket.
-
I'm sure if htey have this deal, they basically hold the exact number of seats they sold and will be in contact with you. You'll be getting your tix, I wouldn't worry.
