QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) Was it Young or Fields who didn't run hard on a pop up and got a talk about it?? If it was Young that message got through to him cause I saw that play too and he was flying. It was Fields.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) El Duque, Gload, Marte? Ding Ding Ding

Good riddance. This club will have 3 new players when the all star break comes to an end.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) For those thinking Rollins I think he's going to cost a fortune in talent to get. He led the Phils last year in win share & he's very balanced vs LH & vs RH in his career. That's not easy to find in any player especially a SS. I don't see why Cincy would trade him which makes me believe you would have to overpay big time to get him. Trust me, Phils aren't going to trade Rollins after signing him to that fatty extension about a month ago.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) JR just said on AM1000 that if KW wanted someone he couldn't imagine money being a problem. Nice

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) From everything I've heard, he is nowhere near close to that good as a hitter, little stolen base threat. He is 24 after all. Remember he was injured, which pretty much set him back at least a year in terms of progression. He is a great athlete and is the fastest guy in the system, imo. The big question is whether he's finally put things together with his swing. Thus far it sounds like he has.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) .jpg....? Your onto something...it has to deal with the music file.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) 22 SBs, 11 CSs. Better improve that lower that second number, or he isn't going to be all that effective on the basepaths... Valido is probably the best base stealer in the organization. Isn't as fast as Owens but he's just a very very intelligent player.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) I've tried not to give up on the guy either, but the problem is...he's out of minor league options after this year. As I understand it, that means that he either makes the big league club next year or he has to clear waivers to go back to the minors. Odds are Borchard will be in another organization next year, unless of course he wants to stick with the Sox. However, with Sweeney, Anderson and Young (currently) all in the system he'd be wise to move to another org where he may get a shot to break camp as a 4th outfielder (and who knows, maybe he can earn himself a starters spot with time on a team like Pitt). Of course Borch is the type of guy that could just tell the Sox he'll resign and stay in Charlotte since they gave him the opportunity and such. It will definately be interesting to see if this is the new Borchard or if this is just a longer hard streak. I know I thought he looked a lot better during spring, but than early on it didn't translate to good numbers at the minor league level. But if he keeps this up I think he'll see some time with the club in September.

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) Yeah I mute the music too. Is Level 8 the Jay Pack one? Ya, you got to look in the source code at Level 8. Notice there are two songs.
-
Nice, to level 8 I am. The part that gets you there has to be the easiest one in a while, at least for me.
-
Good god, what the hell is that a wrapper of in level 7.
-
Level 6 was pretty tricky. I used photoshop and make sure you use google cause you have some translating to do (hint).

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) Song title is 2 words, 1 is name 1 is pass Dar, I figured it out just before you posted this. Makes me feel at least semi special. I was sitting stumped and was like maybe. I kept trying big bad voodoo daddy as the login for some reason and than finally was like dar.

QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) I think the fragile psyche of Count and Duque make them fixtures in some regard. I also do not think a team will take on their salary. I get the feeling the Yanks are paying a good chunck of Count's salary which keeps him cheap for us. Sox are paying roughly 6 mill a year for Cont. It may even be 7, I forget exactly, but its far from cheap. Of course if Jose pitches like he did early in the year it would be well worth it.

Total bust. He's such a quality individual. Its also another huge loss for the Dodgers.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) The larger point is, could a deal involving those two key figures be made? It could include a LHP like Scott Erye, other players, who knows. I mentioned Scott Eyre once. He has good numbers, Sox are at least semi familiar with him, and I'm sure the Giants would be willing to deal him for 2 mid-level guys.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) It doesn't make sence. Rangercal offers stats showing he pwns some pitcher but does that mean he blows vs the rest??? Thats precisely it. A team has way more than just one pitcher. Plus just think, Juan's stats are often times based heavily on last years performances. Its not like he played in the AL for years and years like Omar did.
-
You could also look at this another way. Sox could keep Zach Day as the 5th starter, allowing them to package one of Cont or Duque and some prospects to another team for a pitcher and than be able to lock up said pitcher to a long term deal (ie AJ Burnett). You give up a guy like Duque, and two good prospects and a mid-level for Burnett. Sox than insert Day into the 5th spot (they still have Bmac as the potential 6th guy cause he's the one guy you don't ever offer...also who knows if Florida would accept) and than you now free up 4.5 million or so that Duque was set to make, meaning that you only really increase payroll by 5.5 million and offer AJ 10 mill a year. They could also do this to acquire another player who may have a higher salary. Just throwing it out there.

QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 07:08 AM) I agree with the idea that Uribe fits better than Crede. Crede cant play Ozzie ball,he's slow and is not going to be here next year anyway! I'm starting to see Crede make the adjustments and I think he's going to be big for the club down the stretch. Unless the Sox get Chavez and Zito in some blockbuster deal, I don't see anyone other than Crede starting at 3rd for the Sox.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 04:29 AM) I'll be the first to pose a question or two. So here goes: 1] how would you feel about a trade involving basically, Omar Vizquel and Juan Uribe? 2] Would it take say a bullpen arm like Bajenaru along with Uribe to make it worth SF's while? 3] Would SF even want Uribe [though getting a 25 yr old who can start at both SS and 2B is hard to find]? Good lord...if the Sox traded the two straight up I'd be sick, let alone give something else. Juan Uribe >>>> Omar Vizquel (when were talking about trade value...Giants would make that deal in a heartbeat and I don't think the Sox would). However, the Sox could potentially give up a guy like Uribe if they were also getting Schmidt. Personally I'd go more for picking up Zach Day and packaging him with a couple minor leaguers for AJ.
