Hey Willie, thanks for these snippets of info.
-
Could be a solid player. Has Mel or anyone talked about him yet? Definately a sleeper, he's a little slow but has a real big body for a safety. As far as Razor goes, obviously most everyone thinks he's a tweener and can't find a position for him.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Has there been any rumors of this kind? No rumors per say, but there has been talk he'll be a cap casualty in Tampa Bay and him and Angelo have a very good relationship. I know people have speculated that because the Bears have had a need for OLB and Lovie has even gone as far to say it, yet they have not really agressiveley pursued any of the free agent candidates. It makes me believe that JA knows or at least has a feeling Brooks will be out there come June and thats when I think the Bears spend the rest of their money for this season.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Well he can be as good as Ramon Martinez all he wants... Ramon Martinez was very very good back in his days with the Dodgers. I'd take him in his prime (healthy) over anyone on this current staff aside from Mark Buehrle.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) Bautista is flat out nasty IMO. He's the cousin of Pedro and Ramon Martinez(yes thee Pedro Martinez) and he could be just as good as them one day. His first game of the season I think he only gave up no runs in 8IP. This is going to be a toughy for our offense IMO. Hopefully I'm wrong. Ya, he absolutely shut down the Angels in his 1st start. Has an absolutely filthy curveball.

Agree 101, McPherson was the lone QB on the board who I had rated higher than Orton in terms of pro potential. Problem with McPherson is I can't look past his gambling problems. He definately appears to have his head on straight now though and he's as good of tools as any qb in the draft, imo (although I happen to really like Alex Smith).
-
ORton has a very strong arm and has been a cold weather player. He plays in a wide open offense and only threw 5 interceptions. He did a nice job reading defenses and is 1000 times the player Krenzel ever was (if were talking about offensive abilities).
-
Prediction of the Day: Derrick Brooks will be one of the starting OLB's for the Bears on opening day.
-
Sweetness. Glad you got this up Mike...I didn't see your email till like 12 last night.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) Right I would probably go with the pens of Minnesota and Anaheim with maybe St. Louis but our is in the mix if we can do it for a longer period of time Not Anaheim, imo. Donelly, Shields and Krod are all very good, but aside from that there pen is nowhere near what it was in previous years, imo.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) Tulane for Losman Cool I knew it wasn't Clemson.
-
Did Losman go to Clemson? For some reason I thought he went somewhere else.
-
Plus they got Derrick Johnson. They did a very good job, imo.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:10 AM) This was J.P.'s Losman's favorite target in College right?... I think its a good pick, but with all these WR's you have to wonder where Gage and Berrian are going to fall on the depth chart. Musin, Gage, Berrian, Wade, Bradley, and Currie will be the 6 WR's. Maybe they plan on carrying 6 of them?
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) How many f***ing WR's do we need god damnit The guy is pretty darn good football player, statistically speaking at least. I kind of thought yesterday they may draft 2 WR's simply because they want depth and they want to have plenty of potential guys to develop and obviously want to give Rex plenty of options. Bears may be looking at OLB right after the draft via FA.
-
Bears draft Airese Currie. If I recall he's a really fast reciever. I've heard his name before.
-
Shazor will be there and OLB is a need of the Bears. That or they could go TE or PK.
-
I'd have to think Cleveland looks long and hard at Shazor.
-
Just KC and Cleveland ahead of the Bears

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Keith, has McCoy been selected yet? If your talking Matt McCoy of SDSU, he went yesterday.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) KEEP FALLING SHAZOR fall all the way to 140 you can start this year at OLB I know Lovie had indicated that they would look at OLB in the draft so maybe they'll think of moving up but thats probably doubtful.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 07:21 AM) I love the uribe line. Ozzie had a great quote earlier saying "I have to know how to curse in english, spanish, japanese, and whatever language uribe is speaking." Overall just a funny interview.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) You have my respect. What a gutsy play tonight. Your a gamer, i'll tell you that. He also has his zip back on that fastball and is looking fantastic this year. I absolutely love this bullpen, especially when Shingo gets his stuff together and he will.

QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) That would have been a fantastic pick for anyone in round 2, he was a projected 1st rounder BTW, love the Miami pick "Roth is regarded as one of the premier pass rushers in the collegiate ranks and one of the toughest players in the country. He is a blue-chip prospect with a blue-collar work ethic. Roth is a colorful character who plays the game as if he is on a "search and destroy" mission. He is the source of a campus urban legend, as many Hawkeyes talk of the time Roth challenged and cleared out an entire bar in a fight." As a huge Hawkeye fan I can tell you that both Miami and Atlanta got two very good, talented football players in Roth and Babineaux. Both can get at the QB and also do a good job against the run. They were also very well coached and have good fundementals.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) Ick. McMillon should be a number five on a team with good CB depth -- or barely on the roster. I'm hoping they grab a CB in the fifth... McMillon is a $5. Vasher, Rdub, Zoom, and Peanut are all ahead of him on the CB scale. Rdub will not be playing FS this year unless they find themselves in a pinch.
