QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) Speaking of which, i usually eat a bag of twizzlers in one sitting. Amateur...
  2. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) you must be talking about "million dollar baby..." Haven't seen that. I did just watch sideways and thought to myself "ehhh". It was way overhyped. It was just a neurtic movie that was rather stupid (but I didn't have any interest in it to begin with). I think I was too young for the humor or something. Although my dad says he's old and there wasn't any humor. Hell the best movie I've seen this year is Kung Foo Hustle. Saw that this past weekend, fantastic. Just an enjoyable movie. On another movie sidenote, House of Flying Daggers was ehh (not near as good as Crouching Tiger or Hero).

As pathetic as it is, me and my friends are gonna have a small kick back soley for Family Guy (were pathetic people, LOL).
  5. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) I just found some information at: http://www.tomsnetworking.com/Sections-article90.php The main problem is the size of the house, but apparently that shouldn't be a problem. Me thinks I'm an idiot and need to reset the defaults on the router before the expander will work. *stupid question alert* using a cable to connect the main PC to the router shouldn't effect the router's ability to broadcast to the house, right? How about XP SP1 compatibility with XP SP2? Will that effect network connections? Nah you should be good in that regards. Good luck getting it to work in that big of a house though. The expander should help, but make sure you have the main router in the middle of the house and go from there (also upstairs if you have the opportunity). My dads place is pretty big, but what made it worse were the phones as well as the fact that the router is in my room which is downstairs on the far opposite end of where my sisters and step moms computers are. Also just know that they bulls*** a whole lot in temrs of the range and good luck with that range thing. I've been told by my uncle (who does network stuff and all this other computer crap for a living) that the expanders don't work like half of the time. They just have trouble syncing in. Hell when I called linksys (I think it was them) to ask them what was up with there product they recommended me waiting for some new product to come out (the router with the build in range extender) because they even admitted the range extenders had a lot of trouble. Hopefully you got one that works though. The next time I try to set up a network I hoep to hell the new N networks are out cause those will be way badass.
  6. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) I spent all day setting up a wireless network in a 10,000 sq/ft house. I'm still not done due to all the hallways, multiple floors and funny angles. Anyone have experience "wi-fi-ing" an office or house? I'm using this for the main computer: Wireless Router 54GS and these in two other pcs: Wireless PCI 54GS and this to "bounce" the signal upstairs and down a hall: Wireless Expander "repeater" any tips would be appreciated For us we had to use the new belkin one. THe computers are far away and there is a lot of interference from phone lines and everything else. And the expanders worked horrid. It took me like 4 different tries and the belkin blows all of the other ones away. It wasn't cheap though, but we didn't need a range expander or anything so it ended up being a little less (plus comp USA has deals every once in a while). Although you may have better luck, we have 2.4 GHZ phones in our house and that messes with the network as well. If we had the 5 GHZ or whatever they are it would of worked easier.
  7. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) how bout they put in stories that all flow together this time. would make the perfect movie if acting, etc. is same... You mean actually make it a movie...nah...that won't happen, so many people rave about the 1st one which was total GARBAGE.
  8. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=7308 Hopefully this is true. I'll make sure to stay far away from that theatre. SinCity was singlehandedly the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life. I've seen some bad movies (and a lot of movies) and my god was it HORRID. People talk about the effects and ya they were cool, but the film was s***, absolute s***.
  9. Hell, I didn't even know they were adding another game.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Funny thing is i still see enough people that want him either fired or don't think he the right coach for the bulls to ever win a championship with. What the bulls should be looking to do and i expect it to come this off-season is resigning him for three or four years. I guarantee you the Bulls will be giving more then one long term contract this summer
  11. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) so i really didnt expect the bulls to play so well and be up 2-0 coming into the series but skiles really had these guys ready to come out and as we can see the coaching is making a big difference for us so far Plus just look at the adjustments they seem to make every game. He must be one hell of a coach, especially when it comes to adjusting the game plan to the way the opponent is playing. Its easier though when he has a team that will listen to him and buys into his philosphy (which is tremendous). I f***ing love this team. I know they won't win it all, but part of me likes this team more then the glory years bulls, simply because they bust their asses (then again those Bulls teams always gave it there all). Its just been so long and finally its another winner!!!! I can't wait to watch this team go through the motions and build up. Hopefully they can pick up a game in Washington, but this series is still going to be tough. The Bulls are off to a nice start though.
  12. Fantastic game minus the 1st quarter and damn was Hinrich good. Everytime I would start getting nervous in the 4th...bam he'd nail a jumper. Along with Kurt, I got to give credit to AD, Adrian Griffin, and Pargo who all played tremendous and Noc played hard nose as usual. Damn I'm loving this team. Go get em in Washington
  13. I went with Gonzo. Liotta and Haigwood would get honorable mention from me. Its just amazing how the Sox pitching prospects are throwing the ball. I absolutely love it.
  14. Thats right, Haeger has been kicking butt for em. Bakker will likely get demoted with Gio coming up and then of course you have Whisler maybe making his next start. Along with that there is Fraser Dizard who may be inserted into the rotation.
  15. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) Don't really see how that's a fair comparison. The game is over at that point in basketball. In baseball it makes a difference, usually. Really then...what should be called? Should guys be able to jump in front of anything, all the time, and it never gets called? Because the Crede lean was as blatant as i think it can possibly get. When the pitch is thrown at you and that pitch was way way way inside, then it doens't matter. If Crede went out of his way to get hit, thats another story. Its just a call that isn't made.
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) Total inconsistency. When was the last time any of us saw that call made? DJ said Fernando Vina got away with way worse all the time, and he's right. Crede did stick his elbow out but the pitch was well into the right handed batters box. It was obviously a judgement call, and I wonder why in that situation Wendelstedt chose to make it. I also why he chose to throw out Crede for flinging his bat, how many players do that? A lot. Wendelstedt knows damn well the Sox are playing short handed and IMO he goes on a power trip. He's the home plate umpire, he is entitled to make those calls no question. But there were too many screw ups in this series. The call at 1st base today (Podsednik being, ahem, doubled up in the 3rd inning or so) ... that call was blatantly bad. The call at home plate last nite ... Froemming didn't put himself into position to see the play. Sox didn't execute and that's why they lost. The umpiring certainly was error prone though, and in a close game it tends to affect the outcome. And it did. Moving on to the Detroit series. In the Crede situation he dropped a F bomb and looked back at the ump. I will say this though, in those istuations guys get pissed when they miss pitches and get out. Crede was pissed, but even more pissed at the call. He was obviously on a shorter leash than most and it was crappy. Hell why wasn't a warning ever given to Oakland during the series? I'd really like to know considering all the Sox that were hit. I mean the offices at MLB phone the Sox yet don't tell the umps to tell Oakland's pitchers or give htem a warning (not that I think they were throwing at the Sox). I just think it should go both ways. On a sidenote, I freaking hate it. Baseball is about protecting your players. I was always taught if they are targeting your team you give them the chin music, you knock them on the ass (you don't try to hurt them or throw at there head). But you say hey, this is my team and were gonna back them. Baseball and the comissioners office is trying to take this away and they havebeen for a while, its bull. I want pitchers throwing inside and who gives a s*** if they drill a guy every once in a while, its part of the game. If the other team thinks its intentional then there pitcher will hit one of your guys and it evens out.
  17. I have to disagree with this. This is one of those issues where it may be in the rule book, but it isn't called. Its kind of like a game ending in an NBA game with a carryover with like half a second left. (not a blatant carry over, just a carryover). It doesn't happen and shouldn't happen. The rules may not have been adjusted but it isn't called. Its only called when its in the strike zone. But still, its not what cost the Sox the game.
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Looked down the middle to me. We were all surprised in the chat room. I never saw a replay. The pitch looked on the outside corner to me, but from the camera angle I saw you really didn't get a good view of the plate. All I could say was the pitcher hit Kendalls mit, although that camera angle made it darn near impossible to see the plate because of the dirt (that and I was watching it online).
  19. Also just to add another point in this thread...un official related. The Sox needed to impliment some hit and runs when things weren't going right. Teams all around baseball (minus the Angels) don't use the hit and run enough. Its a great thing, put your runners in motion, and have a righty or lefty pull it to where the 2nd baseman usually plays. It works beautifully especially when an offense is struggling, like the Sox were (and hitting into so many double plays). When things aren't going right, its not necessarily a bad idea to force the envelope when all you need is maybe 1 more run. Plus you have Kendall behind the plate who is about as bad as it gets in terms of having an accurate arm. He's no Mike Piazza, but he's similar to Pyrz (whom I love) but would try and run on all the time considering the Sox have a few guys on this staff that couldn't hold on runners if there life depended on it. Aside from that I'm happy they had a winning road trip and get to come back home, hopefully the off day gets the banged up players ready (but I have my doubts).
  20. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Haha... nice catch. You are a well-versed Ferris Bueller fan for sure... Anyway, I'm a lifetime sox fan who just discovered this site in the pre-season this year. I haven't posted anything really yet. I'd prefer to tread lightly, only making a few points here or there where appropriate. Many of you seem to know each other. Anyway, I visit frequently and appreciate your insight. I may add a comment here or there... Go Sox Welcome aboard
  21. Alright ESPN 1000 on. New question, how long after the game does the press conference usually start, or have I already missed it?
  22. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Excellent road trips guys. Come home, get healthy and beat Detroit. What is the status on Iguchi, Uribe, and Ozuna I've been gone all day. I can't see how they would be able to play on Friday considering they were so banged up that they couldn't play in a super bind today.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Yes, the umpires have sucked the last two games. However, I don't want to see the Sox start acting like the Cubs when it comes to umpires. Right now, I don't like Hawk blaming the umpires for blowing the last two games. There were dozens and dozens of plays that helped determine the outcome of both games that had nothing to do with the umpires. I just want to see our guys keep their composure when the situation becomes heated. Crede got screwed, but he had to know to keep his mouth quiet because of our lack of depth right now. I'm dissapointed in Hawk too. I mean you have to point out the bad calls, but also go on to say that the Sox did plenty of things (which they could control) that cost them the game. From the defense, to the lack of executing and getting the job done with runners in scoring positon. You can only handle what you ahve control over and the Sox did a poor job of that. Bad calls happen and in this case I don't argue, they were terrible calls, but at teh same time the team didn't do what it could and for that its their own damn fault. They need to learn from this, get back to Chicago, and make some improvements realizing they are still the best team in baseball (record wise).
  24. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) I'm not sure what the history between them is but I'm just glad we are leaving Oakland, things just always seem to go wrong there. As for the Umps, I agree they didn't cost us the game but I don't think its right to take the game out of the players hands. The game is played between the lines not outside of them. Remember the game where with the bases loaded early against Mulder it looked like Buehrle was going to get out of the jam on a routine pop up to 2nd and the ball got dropped scoring pretty much everyone. Bad things happen in Oakland. I just hope the Sox leave that in Oakland and get back to playing fundementally sound baseball. Because up until Monday (minus that one game against Cleveland) I could safely say aside from their offensive woes (hitting for avg) that they were playing very fundemental baseball. They were pitching, playing defense (very few errors) and while the average wasn't there, they were getting guys in with less than 2 outs and runners on.
