  1. I can finally give my school a little props. They are one of the best teams in the big west and they play at home this Thursday against top 25 Pacific. Fullerton didn't lose by much to Pacific last time and has at least a decent shot at beating them this time. Its kind of odd, I'm actually excited about a basketball game at my school!!!! GO TITANS
  2. QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) I get ISU alumni email newspapers weekly, and they mentioned something of this nature. Apparently, they will be feeding this to campus dorms, as well as dining centers, for no extra charge; however, the article also stated it won't be available on standard/basic cable. I guess you must have either a dish or digital cable with ESPN U as a selected channel. I guess it would be cool to see some ISU games, since that's hard to do outside of Bloomington/Normal. I'm sure its one of those things that will eventually appear if people want it. I know ESPN News isn't on standard cable out where we are but we have digital cable (how else could I watch all the Sox games, lol) so its included in that package which is nice.
  3. Anyone want to be the Braves trade him in a couple years. They definately backloaded the deal with his annual salary the first two years being incredibly modest and since the Braves are now financially strapped I don't see them taking him at 13 mil a year. Damn good deal for the Braves though, basically a little under 12 mill per season guaranteed for 4 yrs. Unless my numbers are off.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 05:38 AM) The problem is, is Skiles ever going to start Hinrich and Gordon together? They'll get abused defensively against bigger guards especially come playoff time. Ya, Hinrich is already a good defender. He may be smaller but he's strong and quick enough to d up pretty much anyone. Of course he has trouble against the real tall scoring guards like Tmac and Kobe, but pretty much everyone does and in those instances you can slide Noc and Deng over. Gordon and Hinrich will play together a lot more next year, but there already on the court a ton at the same time. It just happens to be that the way Gordon plays he'd absolutely die if he played 40 minutes a game. He'll improve stamina wise though and be able to handle more minutes and of course he'll have to improve defensively, but Skiles is the right guy for that job.
  5. I just saw a commercial about it and had no clue they were starting a new ESPN station. This one is gonna be all about college sports. Sounds like a really cool idea. I'd like to see htem televise some smaller schools basketball programs and of course other random sports. I also think it be very neat if they televised some college baseball games during the season.
  6. Gonna be a tough game. Yao gives Curry fits down in the block and Tmac can run amock, although I think Noc will get him a little frustrated. Still, I love watching the Bulls play other good teams because they typically play well against them, although for whatever reason they do better against the top teams in the west then the ones in the east or at least it seems that way.
  7. Good, but its gonna be tough. I heard a few different NFL experts talking and they were indicating that Fielder has been getting tons of calls and is gonna be a hot name in the backup/starter type area. Would be a hell of a pickup by the Bears. Also heard mention of the Bears and Holcomb if something happens there. They want someone that is capable of coming in if Grossman flops and then they are obviously gonna also work on developing Hutchinson, but a legit backup is needed.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 09:47 PM) Fair enough. I agree with what you said, though I guess Bmac and Anderson could be ready some time this year but hopefully we won't have to rush them. Bmac is on the brink and I guess you could make a case for Anderson being there as well. Personally I think any guy within a years time given a good growht earns that right. I still think Anderson is farther away then most, but he's gonna be a good one. Bmac's gonna be at worse a good #3 and I still think he's got ace potential if his velocity develops and even if it doesn't can be a good #2, but I've long been very high on Bmac. I like guys that can throw strikes and know where to put the ball. He can do that and mixes things up well. Edited by danman for ridiculously bad grammar by Jason. 'I like guys who no where to put the ball?' You have to be really out of it to write that. How do you confuse no with know? /End rant
  9. QUOTE(daa84 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) baseball america just came out with 75-100 top prospects, Fields lands at 95 with Iguchi right behind him at 96. i guess you consider him a prospect. interestingly enough angel guzman has fallen to 88 for the scrubs, who will probably have only pie and dopirak in the top 100, sox should land anderson sweeney mccarthy and maybe tracey http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/featu...228top1001.html Guzman has arm trouble. You should see Anderson, Sweeney and Bmac all appear somewhere on the list. I don't anticipate Tracey or Young (the other two guys BA really likes) making the top 100, especially since they've already had 75-100. Heck, there is an outisde shot that Sweeney doesn't make it simply based on his production, but BA and most scouts tend to rave about Ryan.
  10. Duhon does a good job and his offense has been steadily improving. The problem is Duhon still is young and obviously has to learn, but he is a good defensive point guard at this point and should only get better, imo. I don't ever think he'll be a star, but he is a TRUE point guard and as BG develops he'll look really nice coming off the bench spelling both Hinrich and Gordon.
  11. I pretty much guarantee the Bears won't draft a WR at #4. Financially it would be stupid to give Musin so much money and then give a big time signing bonus to Braylon. My money is on the Bears signing a veteran WR like Travis Taylor at a price tag similar to what DT made this past year. I think JA likes Gage, Wade and Berrian as the 3, 4 and 5 recievers with them being able to learn from veterans. In the draft I think the Bears go RB, LB or possibly Alex Smith assuming they stay at 4. I also wouldn't mind Antrelle Rolle, simply because I think he's a stud. But mark my words, they WILL NOT draft a WR at #4. Also John Clayton seems to think Warner is destined to join the Bears. It appears that following the signing the Bears still have roughly 7 million in cap room this year.

    A New Addition

    Awesome...Dogs are the best.
  14. I think you can pick strep back up pretty quick, but after just getting the flu its supposed to be tough to picking it back up. Wait...reread that and no I dont' think you do. They are seperate viruses, like steff said.
  15. He'll have some good years somewhere, but he never will live up to his hype.
  16. Sapp isn't going to be cut. I don't think it would be cap friendly to do so.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 06:23 PM) Uhhhh Williams ain't a LB there Jason. Meant Derrick Johnson.
  18. I know one thing, my #1 choice is Williams because I think the guy is gonna be an absolute stud. Think Derrick Brooks. I freaking love the idea of him, Url and Briggs. However I think Johnson is the Browns top choice and Benson is probably the Dolphins top choice at this point with Rodgers going to the Niners. Which would mean Alex Smith is there at 4. But so is Braylon who I like quite a bit and I think Ronnie Brown can possibly be a Marshall Faulk type back.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) So, Williams is out of the picture. OL is out of the picture. Benson is 75% out of the picture. It's down to, like I said, Braylon, Ronnie and Derrick. Dead on. Of course I think Benson will be the Bears selection if available, but there is a good shot he's gone when the Bears pick. Mike Williams = NO Chance. I personally wouldn't mind the Bears moving down for a team wanting Braylon because Williamson is a WR I'm really intrigued with. Projects in the mid 1st round and had stellar 40 times and the Bears still need that speed receiver. Right now I'd be happy with any of Braylon, Ronnie, Derrick, Antrelle Rolle, or Benson. However, for whatever reason part of me thinks the Bears could shock the world and grab one of the QB's if they are there and impress them. Don't know if Alex Smith goes quite that early though and Rodgers has to be going to San Fran.

    Films

QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) I Heart Huckabee's must be one of the worst films I've ever sat through. LMAO. My buddies and I watched that last night and I can agree with your assessment. We thought it was supposed to be good but at the end of the movie were just like wtf.
  21. I used to do some of those things back in high school and they worked. I had a program on my computer that would auto move my mouse to make sure It appeared I was active and would constantly click through to different sites and such. It worked for a while and then the stuff stopped paying. Wasn't bad though for a bit of cash back in high school.
  22. QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) And I think I blew it. I went through possible questions I would be asked last night, but I didn't practice my answers out-loud. This was a mistake. I came off far less eloquent and articulate than I actually am. There were several 'ums' and 'uhs' that I was telling myself to avoid beforehand. One question came completely out of the blue and caught me off guard. I probably stalled for 6 or 7 seconds before I started an answer to that one. The sad part is that I genuinely wanted this job. I'm feeling pretty depressed right now, just needed to vent. Do any of you have advice or your own stories about the interviewing process? I've been going through internship interviews right now. Had one yesterday and just got called back an was invited to the inhouse next week, which is typically the final process. Its from 3 till 9:30 so I'm sure they will be evaluating the skills you can work in group, plus a few more interviews. I wouldn't worry too much. My approach to interviews is different then a lot of other people. Typically people focus a lot on the behavioral questions and try and memorize there responses. I simply come up with a few examples because typically you can use those to answer a lot of other questions. Even then I don't focus much on that. I try to be polite, take note in what they say, because typically the interviewer will tell you a bit about themselves to start and its important to have good questions at the end of the interview. I usually base one or two of them off there experience. You also can look around there office and see if you can notice some things of common interest. Also I wouldn't worry about 6 or 7 seconds of silence. If someone asks you a question you may have to calmly think of a good response and there is nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't worry to much. The key is just go in and be calm. Make sure you get there early enough so you aren't rushed (because then your way more likely to be nervous) and specifically what I do is just take some real long deep breaths while waiting outside the office just to get myself real calm. Hopefully you get the job Oh ya, and after the interview ask for there business card if you dont' have it and make sure you send them a short thank you. This is the part I'm absolutely worse at. I am so bad at getting stuff like this out.
  23. Remember Adkins has started in the past. He's just not a very good starter because he doesn't have enough pitches.
