  1. He does, he just thinks for some strange reason that hte Sox would of made a hard push at him in the free agent market...afterall the White Sox have a tremendous track record at making hard pushes at starting pitchers in the free agent market. I don't know what the pitching market is this offseason, but off the top of my head, Odalis Perez will be the best guy out their and while he's good, when you have a thin starting pitching market, their will be teams needing pitching that are going to be seriously overbidding. That means Garcia would of been bid on by many teams...KW may get into bidding wars in trade, but when it comes to cash...it ain't going to happen.
  2. Tough for Schnur's streak to come to an end. Hopefully he goes right back out and starts a new streak!!!!
  3. One thing about Valido is that he is an incredibly smart player. Hopefully he cna get his bat together cause I saw him make some stellar defensive plays when I was in Kanny last week.
  4. Bull has had a few starts as of late as well, although he pitched out of the pen again last night.
  5. This was a fair deal from both sides. And Greg, Rauch hasn't been too highly thought of for quite a while, imo. The Sox weren't pleased with him and no one can blame the Sox for not dealing him earlier. Geeze...everyone just go back and read what I wrote in the thread about prospects that the Sox have given up. Folks, hate to say it, but the guys they are giving up, minus Reed and arguably Webster, Rupe, and Fransisco (who wasn't thought of as a high upside prospect) aren't all that good in terms of general MLB. The sox system is thin at the top and deep at the bottom. Of course younger, lower level prospects, while talented, rarely command much in trade value. This is not an example of the Sox giving up too much, imo. This is an example of getting a player they coveted. Just wait and see what the Dbacks get for Finley and then tell me how much the Sox overpaid....cause when you see a team give up one of its actual top prospects plus another prospect as good as Rauch or Majewski and then think about it. I realize Finley is a good player but so is a healthy Carl Everett.
  6. First he has to get onto the 40 man roster. The Sox have an opening, but someone else could also get that spot.
  7. Weaver has not signed yet. The Angels seem to be careful with him and have indicated that they will pony up the money to sign him, but aren't in a hurry at this point. They are likely going to sit him the rest of the year, since he was worked hard in college ball.

10 out of 10...oh ya. Now give me one of my old calc tests and I doubt I'd get 1 right. I just remember that we did derivitives, I don't have a clue how the hell to do them anymore.

  11. Great Falls White Sox Struggling After 9-6 Start By Evan Solon July 19, 2004 FutureSox.com After a solid 9-6 start of the season, the Great Falls White Sox have only been able to muster 4 wins in the last two weeks, dropping their record to 13-14, 2 ½ games behind 1st place Helena. The Sox didn’t fare well either two weeks ago as they went 2-5 over that span. However, this last week, July12-18, they didn’t do much better, with 2 wins in 6 games. That span has especially been unkind to Donny Lucy, the 59th overall selection in the 2004 Amateur Draft, who was controversially chosen over highly regarded catchers Kurt Suzuki and Jason Jaramillo. In 11 at-bats this week, Lucy only managed 1 hit, which was a single. He also recorded 3 strikeouts and 0 walks. However, it’s not just Lucy who’s struggling on offense. As a team, the White Sox have batted a measly .233 with just 13 extra-base hits, striking out 50 times, while working just 18 walks in 201 at-bats. The lone bright spot on offense was Daron Roberts, who held a .316 batting average with 1 home run and 6 RBI in 19 at-bats. The starting pitchers have not fared well either, going a combined 0-3 with a 4.19 Earned Run Average (ERA). The starters have also combined to issue 17 walks, while striking out 24 in 30.1 innings pitched (IP). The starting pitcher who had the most trouble this week was Grant Hansen, who had a 0-1 record in two starts. He had an ERA of 5.40 in 10 IP, allowing 9 hits and issuing 6 walks while striking out 8. Demetrius Banks performed well in 3 relief appearances this week. He had an 0.00 ERA, while giving up just one hit while striking out 6 in 4.2 IP. Other News and Notes: Ray Liotta will get the start tomorrow night against the Idaho Falls Chukars… Great Falls will have a busy schedule in the next 2 weeks with 14 games in 14 days… Great Falls has the 2nd best attendance in the Pioneer League, with 52,858 people attending 17 home games… Great Falls has been an affiliate of the White Sox since the 2003 season. Prior to 2003, they were an affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers… Numerous players have passed through Great Falls on their way to the major leagues, including Pedro Martinez, Raul Mondesi, Eric Karros, and Jeff Nelson just to name a few… Current Chicago White Sox prospect and Kannapolis Intimidators outfielder Ricardo Nanita has the Pioneer League record for consecutive games with a hit, with 30.
  12. I'll email right now
  13. 2nd and 3rd right
  14. Harris Rowand Ordonez Lee Jose Konerko Everett Crede Whoever is catching The reason I have Everett down in the lineup, is because I want to see him first get his bat rolling. Once that happens, I think him and Jose should be flip flopped. I want Willie starting everyday at the top of the order too. When he was playing everyday he was a productive leadoff hitter, and the Sox have had crap since he was demoted (I think he got a raw deal).
  15. I really hated seeing Majewski go. The few times I've seen him pitch, he just shows such good stuff and he definately has that closer attitude. With Borchard and Baj their its time for the Knights to get on a roll
  16. I'm assuming they will want a major league ready bat.
  17. Thats awesome news. And I'm sure the Knights are happy to get some healthy players back.
  18. My guess is he'll have an outing or two out of the pen with Santiago closing and then he'll be moved into the closers spot. Congrats Baj!!!!! By the way Alex, I added a paragraph at the end
  19. Happy Bday Cheat. Hope its real badass and that its topped with a Sox win.
  20. Don't I make myself look like an idiot numerous times already...without you trying to make phony quotes I think this calls for a nice Clones suck...cause this was the worse attempt at a burn that I've ever seen
  21. I really did think he looked a whole lot more comfortable. His swing seemed a lot smoother, still long, but definately smoother. He hit the ball hard too, I think it was Saturday where he could of just as well had 3 hits compared to 1. He may need to give up the whole switch hitting thing though.
  22. Joe Borchard Optioned to Charlotte By Jason Gage July 18, 2004 FutureSox.com The Chicago White Sox optioned right fielder Joe Borchard to Charlotte on Sunday, following the White Sox game versus the Oakland A's. The move doesn't come as a surprise, since earlier in the day the White Sox acquired outfielder/designated hitter Carl Everett from the Montreal Expos in exchange for pitchers Jon Rauch and Gary Majewski. The Charlotte Knights get Borchard back, which will provide a much needed boost to the Knights offense, which has been hampered by injuries. The Knights will also call up at least one more pitcher. Reliever Jeff Bajenaru tops our list as the most deserving player of the promotion and we will see in the next day or two, who the Knights call up. Borchard had 19 at bats since being called up to Chicago and hit .158. However, he had 13 of his at bats against left handed pitching, which meant he had to hit from the right side, his weaker side. Borchard won't use it as an excuse, but Ozzie Guillen had some regret that they didn't get to see Borchard from his natural left side as much. In the few at bats he had from the left side, Borchard looked much more comfortable and lose at the plate, then he did in years past with the Sox. He shouldn't be dissapointed by the demotion, and still has a bright future in the organization. Borchard was hitting .267 with 16 HR and 48 RBI in Charlotte this year. He was drafted in the 1st round of the 2000 draft by the Chicago White Sox out of the University of Stanford. Since then he had the weight of the organization placed on his shoudlers. He has had some ups and downs, but this season he has impressed at times and given the Sox the hope that he will one day come close to their dreams.
  23. I remember their were quite a few people at the beginning of the year thinking that was a great sign (The Everett one). Geeze....you whine about Everetts contract and then go on and on how the SOx should acquire Larry Walker's??????
  24. Nah, Schnur had a better average and only struck out 3 times in one game. Other than that he flat out raked the ball. He may not of had the run production, but he's also on a 16 game hit streak, which to me gives the nod over Sweeney. As far as Rodriguez goes, his one start was very good, while his other start was alright. Their weren't that many options and I'm sure their will be some weeks where their are quite a few deserving players.

Cripes, 52 million, thats freaking huge for an opening. I don't know about anyone else, but the two movies I really want to see are still coming out...Bourne Supremacy and the Village.
