  1. U guys know that the new ESPN football game is gonna be 20 bucks. CRipes, temps me to get that over madden. ESPN's is supposed to be pretty badass this year. I'm guessing its theri marketing ploy to get people to try it over madden and figure out its actually a pretty good game (Or so they hope). Madden could put out the s***tiest game ever this year and it would still kill in sales. Not that their game will be s***ty, its supposed to be pretty badass.
  2. Ok cool, that makes me feel a bit better. I was beginning to think I really sucked ass. On a sidenote, I have the s***tiest qb ever. And my receivers must be smoking the reefer 24/7 cause they are awful. Hell, I wish I had Dez White.
  3. Its freaking hard to play. In the old versions I could be any s*** box of a team and still beat the real good teams (albeit that was on PS2 and I'm new to XBox) but in this game I can't beat the good ranked teams or really get close. Do I just suck ass on XBox or have they really improved the realisticness of the game?
  4. White Sox Minor Leaguers Play in Other Mid-Summer Classics By Danny Santaromita and Jason Gage July 16, 2004 FutureSox.com The big leaguers had their day in the sun on Tuesday July 13th, but so did the International League and Southern League. The International League played its AAA All Star Game on Wednesday July 14th while the Southern League had its All Star game on July 12th. The representatives in the AAA All Star game were Felix Diaz and Bryant Nelson while Jeff Bajenaru, Matt Smith, and Candy Maldanado represented the Barons in the Southern League All Star Game. Earlier in the week (on Sunday) major league baseball had the Futures Game in Houston, Texas. Arnie Munoz represented the White Sox and played for the World Team...MORE
  5. Daniel Haigwood Named SAL Pitcher of the Week By Jason Gage July 16, 2004 FutureSox.com Kannapolis Intimidators' left hander Daniel Haigwood was named BC Powder Pitcher of the Week for the South Atlantic League. The award is for the week of July 9th through July 15th. Haigwood went 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA during that time period. In his first outing, Haigwood went into the eighth inning with a no hitter, before losing it. He struck out six in the outing, while walking four in a 2-1 victory over Lake County. In his second outing of the week, Haigwood went six innings giving up 4 hits and two earned runs while striking out seven in a 8-3 Kannapolis win over Delmarva. Overall on the week Haigwood went 13 innings giving up just 5 hits and 3 runs while striking out 13. He held opponents to a .116 batting average. Haigwood is 8-4 with a 4.63 ERA in 17 starts for the Intimidators. He has given up 72 hits while striking out a team high (now that McCarthy is in Winston Salem) in 91.1 innings of work. Haigwood didn't pitch last season because of a torn ACL.
  6. Wunsch to Throw Bullpen Session This Week By Jason Gage July 16, 2004 FutureSox.com FutureSox.com has learned that Charlotte Knights reliever Kelly Wunsch is scheduled to toss a bullpen session sometime this week. Wunsch, who pitched in three games for the White Sox this season, has been on the disabled list since June 15th with a sore shoulder. He was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in the three games with the Sox this season. He has pitched in parts of 5 seasons with the White Sox. His best season came last year where he was 0-0 with a 2.75 ERA in 36.0 innings of work. In his career with the White Sox he his 10-5 with 1 SV and a 3.64 ERA. Wunsch went 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA in 12 games for the Knights this year. Wunsch has not pitched since May 29th. No timetable has been set for Wusnch's return, but expect to see him pitch again this summer.
  7. On the graphics we just need to figure out how to remove that ugly looking white box around them (Like Dan mentioned). After that, some badass custom graphics (even ones that are just different color like goldmember made) would really finish this thing off
  8. Check out www.minorleaguenews.com They have some great stuff on the top 50 and its free. I'm working on getting FS syndicated on their magazine
  9. Andy Gonzalez Promoted to Birmingham By Jason Gage July 16, 2004 FutureSox.com The Chicago White Sox promoted Warthogs infielder Andy Gonzalez to AA Birmingham on Thursday. Gonzalez will replace Barons shortstop Guillermo Reyes who was placed on the disabled list. Gonzalez started the season in Kannapolis where he played 12 games before being promoted to Winston Salem. He hit .271 for the Intimidators. However, Winston Salem is where Gonzalez made most of his progress. Gonzalez, who was once thought of as the White Sox shortstop of the future, began to improve on his hitting and has shown great discipline at the plate. He was hitting .266 with 8 HR and 28 RBI for the Hogs, where he hit lead off. He also had a .381 OBP. Defensively Gonzalez can pick it. He has great range and a good arm and has made numerous "web gems" with teammate Pedro Lopez. Andy played the bulk of his games at 3rd base for the Warthogs this year, but has been moved back to shortstop with the drafting of Josh Fields. Reyes was hitting .310 in 23 games for the Barons. The switch hitter also played briefly with the Knights this season, hitting .118 in six games. Gonzalez went 0-4 in his first game with the Barons.
  10. Wow, Pauly is one heck of a prospect. I still can't believe he hit the century mark a few times, even if the gun was a little quick.
  11. I think the next step will be creating some custom images.
  12. I don't know if we can do that, at least not yet, but I'd like to get a different banner up eventually on the FutureSox forum, like one that features Soxtalk.com but has some minor leaguers up their.
  13. Schnur is really coming on strong. His wrist is feeling great and he's taking a few more pitches now which is really getting him in a position to rip fastballs and what not.
  14. Holy s***, I like the black. Its definately a bit of a changeup. Alex, you could set it up where you make a copy of this skin so people have the option to keep this skin or go with the new one your making.
  15. Jim Gray reported it. Their was an article today in the trib about it. They basically used my exact line of thought on how the Bulls could of potentially got him.
  16. Happy Bday..Hope its a good one (rootbeer)
  17. If your ps2 and computer are in different rooms, also invest in a long ethernet cable. You would plug this into the router (Which you would put by the computer) and run it all the way to the ps2, wherever it is. It would look ugly, but just unplug it when your not using the online mode. I don't know if ps2 offers a wireless option (maybe one is coming out though????), but I know its an option for Xbox. If they do offer the wireless option, I'd go that way (if your ps2 and computer are far apart) and then just buy a wireless router and you'll be all set. You won't have to worry about anything. You could set up your ps2 anywhere in your house.
  18. Those places will have them. You'll need a router if you want to access the internet (from your computer) and be on the ps2 at the same time.
  19. They were the worse team that I could find in a major conference. I'd of went with the Hawks, but I wanted a challenge
  20. s***....I'm gonna have to get my tickets tomorrow then.
  21. Alex...look in your box for NCAA, you should of gotten a 2 month trial of XBOX live. So once the bugs are fixed, we should bust it up. I suck ass as of now. Won the first game (I'm Indiana) and then got dropped in the 4th quarter against Oregon. I was winning and then my qb's and receivers decided to suck major ass. I had 6 straight passes to wide open guys where either the receiver dropped them or the qb threw them right into a defenders hands way away from where the receiver was.
  22. Anyday works for me. I'm assuming their are still at least some tickets available for every game of the series? I sure hope so at least
  23. Everett would be a good pickup, as long as it didn't cost much anything. He can DH while Thomas is gone and then platoon in the outfield once he's back. As far as Beltran goes, I'd rather see Johnson, unless the Astros are willing to do a deal for Rauch, Borchard, and one other prospect (not a Sweeney/Anderson).
