If anyone gave top prospect value to Kris Honel, I'd dumb his ass incredibly fast. Maybe harsh, but I have little faith in him at this point.

In the future were going to shorten up the questions, to like 4 or so, cause this was incredibly long Although I gotta say, I enjoyed reading all the other peoples responses!!!!

Because he would be playing for a winning team. I think pretty much anyone in Pitt would accept out of there unless it was too the Expos or something. I think the only other bat they may add is if they decide they need another catcher. Their could also be the possibility they add a top of the order type guy.

Sox Acquire Everett for Rauch and Majewski By Jason Gage FutureSox.com July 18, 2004 When Frank Thomas went down, it was obvious that Ken Williams now had another hole to fill, this one offensively. Recently Carl Everett came back off the disabled list and Williams has long been a fan of Everett, especially after the way he played since arriving in Chicago last June. Everett hit .301 with 10 HR and 41 RBI in his 73 games with the White Sox. This season Everett has found himself on the disabled list a couple times and has struggled. Now he finally appears healthy, although he has not had a strong month of July, where he is hitting .222. However, he did hit over .300 in June when he came off the disabled list. Everett signed a 2 year $7.5 contract this offseason with the Expos. Everett will likely replace Joe Borchard on the roster with Magglio Ordonez moving back to right field, although their is the possibility that the Sox decide to send down one of their catchers instead. Despite that possibility, the White Sox want Borchard to be playing every day, and he won't do that with Everett now on the roster. Everett is not a legitimate option in centerfield for the Sox and it is unclear what will happen when Thomas comes off the disabled list in eight weeks (if he does), but either way this adds a switch hitting bat to a once righty dominated lineup. Now the lineup contains two power bats from the left side, at times, in Everett and Valentin. The White Sox gave up former top prospect Jon Rauch. Rauch, 25, has pitched well in AAA this year going 6-3 with a 3.11 ERA in 14 games (13 starts). His ERA was below 2.50 until his most recent start, which was an absolute shelling in a double header. Rauch was scratched from his last start, although it was unlikely it was due to the upcoming trade. Rauch has been hampered by a knee injury. Rauch also made two starts with the White Sox, going 1-1 with a 6.23 ERA. Rauch throws a 88-90 MPH fastball, a solid slider, and a curveball. He will ocassoinally mix in a changeup as well. The other pitcher the White Sox gave up was Knights closer Gary Majewski. Majewski has bounced around from the White Sox, back to Los Angeles, and then was acquired in the Rule V draft by Toronto, only to be sent back to the White Sox. Despite all his travels, Majewski is a good relief prospect, with the mindset of a closer. He was 3-3 with 14 saves and a 3.19 ERA with the Knights this year. His numbers as of late are even better, as he had a rough start to the season. Majewski throws a 94-96 MPH fastball with a good slider and a developing changeup. The White Sox also received cash considerations from the Expos. The result of these cash considerations mean that the White Sox will end up paying less than $150,000 for the remainder of the season. They are on the ticket for Everett in 2005, although Everett can opt out of his contract. The Sox hold a 2005 team option at $5 million with a $500,000 buyout. Note: For those of you unfamiliar with Majewski, check back with FutureSox.com later today or early tomorrow for a clip of Majewski taken during the FutureSox road trip.

Hate giving up Majewski, but I realize you have to give something to get something. I think Rauch straight up would of done it, but I guess the Sox got some cash considerations and thats why Majewski was part of it. I'm guessing KW is now pretty much done in terms of the trade department, with the possible exception of a deal that involves a reliever or something.

After talking with Kirk Champion a week ago, I saw the writing was on the wall in regards to Rauch. I'm not at all surprised to see him go, although I'm incredibly dissapointed to see Majewski go. I really like his potential in the late innings out of the pen. I'll put up an interview of him today or tomorrow for those that aren't familiar with him. He's really got that closers mentality and has been working on a change to go with a 94-96 MPH fastball and a good slider.

Rowand fine, but do not give up Garland...get them to take Scho, Rowand and two top prospects.
-
I know about him
-
I thought I, Robot was pretty damn good.
-
Ah didn't realize you guys had Fry's out there. They are a pretty badass store. Sometimes they have some pretty badass deals.
-
Indiana...I just whoooped the living crap out of FIU 91-6. I can't pass for s***, but my defense is all of a sudden whooping serious ass.
-
Rowand yes...Garland...HELL NO.
-
I'd take Olerud over Crime Dog. Still, I'd prefer Everett out of the bunch.
-
At the left side of the plate Borchard can hit, from the right side, its not very pretty.

Carl is a player I like to watch. He hustles and plays hard and has a good eye. He isn't tremendous in the field anymore, but he isn't going to be in the field all that much. He may ocassionally spell Carlos in left but thats about it. However, with another year left on his deal, the Sox should be able to get him without giving up much in terms of prospetcs. That to me is the key to this deal.

Ya, all that good stuff will be transferred. The site is being moved to a more powerful server. In addition we will be upgrading the board so their will be a few more additional features and it should have a bit quicker load time
-
Thats cause it was us that scooped it
-
Somehow you are using a dynamic image. I think thats one where the link flashes or something. I'm not positive though, but they are turned off cause they put a lot of pressure on the server. Hope that crappy definition helps

Combined with all the coke and heroin I was on, it was a real lowpoint in my life

My mom is from Chicago and for whatever reason I was always semi fascinated with the city as a kid. Since I got WGN I grew up watching the Cubs/Sox and I've always been an Angel fan as well, but they are back seat to the Sox. Over the past few years I went from liking the Cubs to well, pretty much giving a damn about them.

Gracious...it couldn't of happened without all the great admins/mods and all the awesome posters. All of us together have made it one hell of a community and one that will just keep growing

You gotta be...truthfully, I believe I'm the Emperor Pimp of Soxtalk

That would be the one, the only, ME Although my member no doesn't say so, because I screwed up way back when when I transferred the board one time
