He's not really all that bad of a #3 receiver, in fact, I'd say he's a pretty damn good #3 receiver. Good move for the Falcons.
-
This is incredibly classy.

I thought Real Estate was where he took off. He made money in insurance and then used that money to invest in real estate and then got mega rich.
-
That would be awful for the Lakers. Houston has a horrid contract and is pretty overrated. Plus that would be tremendous for Isiah Thomas and the Knicks and I can't stand either of them.

and no one else does it quite like him Soon enough he'll be bringing that game to Chicago

Who's going to watch the Twins?
Chisoxfn replied to moochpuppy's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
My dad just got one for our house and its pretty badass. The only thing I notice is their still isn't that much really good programming out. Too bad I probably won't be able to get WGN-HD all the way out here. I always figured it wasn't that much of a difference, but when I finally compared the two, its definately noticeable. -
1st game I sat behind the goal in the upper deck 2nd game I sat in the middle in the upper deck and for the 2nd period we scooted on down behind the goal in the lower area. It was my personal opinion that I liked the higher seats a little more cause it seemed a lot easier to follow the puck and see the plays. My friends called me crazy.
-
That part makes sense to me. Its stupid that one player can be offsides. My thought is if they don't get the puck they should be alright (Kind of like in soccer, how a player can be offsides as long as the ball isn't passed their way). I was thinking the NHL wanted to get rid of the rule altogether.
-
Ya, by the 2nd game I started figuring some things out. I mean I play hockey about twice a month, but I just started to and I had never learned the rules. We don't play with icing, offsides or anything like that. The thing I noticed and actually kind of liked (when I never really watched - I didn't like it) was how once the puck goes back across the blue line (essentially its cleared) everyone on the offense has to get back onside and then they can get back into an offensive set. I thought it was really boring to watch that, but now that I kind of understand the meaning behind it, its a lot more interesting. As is when a player is busting his ass down behind the goal to try and prevent an icing. And Critic, I know what you mean about the Wings. Their passing and all around game was outstanding. I was rooting for them the pass two nights because of Chelios. He's a class guy and its good he got to go to a real team, instead of the crap that is called the Blackhawks (Although I like Arnasson, Ruutu and Bell). I just don't think I could hop right in and root for them, it would make me feel like a bandwagoner in a sense. I could go for the Kings, they have a pretty quality ownership that at least tries. Plus they are local. I think I'm just going to watch some more games and take note of who I like. Now if only hockey prices weren't so damn expensive. I had free tickets the past two nights, but face was like 30 bucks on them and those are the cheap seats.
-
But I went to hockey games each of the last two nights and I'm all of a sudden turning into a hockey fan. On Saturday I saw the Wings play the Kings and then yesterday the Ducks play the Wings. Both games were good, Sundays was action packed (14 goals between the two teams). I liked the intensity, speed, and hitting. I also like how you can see the flow so much better in person, etc. On tv you can't really see the next pass as well as you can when your in person. All I know, is I think hockey is the 2nd best sport to watch in person (next to baseball). And I'm going to try and follow it more often now. Slowly I've started to learn the rules. I'm leaning towards rooting for the Kings, but not sure yet. I'd root for the Hawks, but screw it, I like enough teams with s***ty owners.

No one is badmouthing you. Your entitled to your opinion as are we. As far as Benson goes, I just look at his stats and he's average. Does he have potential, yes, but at 6.5 mill (high salary) and a high injury probability, it isn't worth the risk. Their a better, less riskier options, that can also be very good. In fact, I think Scho is a guy like that. I like him that much. I always liked him when he was in Anaheim and there was a time when the Angels were much higher on Scho then they ever were on Washburn. Scho has some ability and has been busting his ass. I don't love the way this rotation looks, but not many people loved the way the 2000 team looked and look what happened. This team has some guys htat have the ability to step into new roles and produce. Whether they do or don't, I don't know, but its a definate possibility.

Well if I had a choice between who would be the better of the two...I'd want it to be Koch. If he's back, then it would be absolutely HUGE for this team. Him and Marte (assuming he stays healthy and keeps it up) would be a dynamite 8th and 9th inning combo. Then you got Politte, Wunsch and if Tagatsu figures it out its even better. Then you have Grilli and whoever else. This pen could be better then last years, it could be worse, but I love hearing good things about Koch and seeing the numbers he's put up thus far (not even factoring velocity into this).
-
Nice to hear about Koch's velocity, but I just want him to pitch good. If his velocity is back up...then thats awesome. I'm also going to wait till I see it on the guns on tv and such. Takatsu is getting shelled every outing though, starting to become a concern, imo.
-
Hell ya. Although I don't eat many potato chips. If I do its usually the Baked Doritos or the baked Ruffles. Dorito's I go Nacho Cheese...Ruffles I go with the Cheddar ones.
-
Your right on that. For now we'll stick to making fun of each other for being whipped
-
Is McGahee hurt or something? I still think he has loads of potential if he gets healthy. I just think they should of waited a round.
-
I'll be rooting for the Illini. Even if I don't have them beating Duke in my bracket, I don't care about the bracket.
-
No, I'd rather let Crawford go and just sign Richardson who is also a free agent. That or work out a deal where you swap players. If we move Chandler, package him with a higher priced player and get a very good player, imo.

Makes me feel at least a little better about JR. At least most of us can see the Sox play. -
At least you the upsets you were waiting for Well, In St. Louis I have Georgia Tech in there (Although I don't have them going on); so my St. Louis bracket is done. I still have St. Josephs and Okie State in East Rutheford (Although I have St. Josephs losing this round). Got Duke and Illinois in Atlanta (I have Duke winning) Got Vandy and Uconn in Phoenix. That gives me 7 out of 16...ain't that amazing. 3 of my 4 final 4 teams are still there (Zags are the one thats out). I have Uconn, Okie State, and Duke still there. I now pick Uconn and Okie State to meet.

I'd say that Sony used to have the best games, but now that Grand Theft Auto and Metal Gear are going to be more widely available on all systems its hard to say. Plus HALO is freaking awesome and HALO 2 will be an Xbox game (or at least I'm assuming it is). Graphics wise Xbox is hands down the best. Plus its got a harddrive or something built in so you can put in your own cd's and songs and listen to them while your playing a game. PS2 is still really good and GameCube is better for kids games, imo. Although some of the games GameCube has are pretty fun. I got PS2 and I like it...so I don't think you could go wrong with either PS2 or Xbox.

Only one of those events that I have a memory for was 9/11 I was asleep and my mom pounded on my door waking me up to tell me what had just happened (it was around 6:45 Pacific Time). I immediately turned on the TV and was just in aw. I can remember driving down the freeway and I had such an eery feeling.
