  1. I am a big Kim fan. Don't know how much he makes though...I think thats the issue, but if the Sox unloaded Koch and Maggs for Nomar, Kim and Williamson I'd be incredibly happy, although I wouldn't move Kim to the rotation.
  2. I am too. I know the Sox can get value for Jose with Seattle and Konerko will fit in with the Dodgers. Then if they can move Koch they will be set. Get one starter from the Dodgers in the Konerko deal, get your 2nd reliever in the Koch deal and allow yourself enough money to sign your 5th starter who gets non tendered. Then if the Sox want to go a little above budget at a left handed hitting right fielder/1st baseman.
  3. Thats what I figured...alright...put those pipe dreams to rest. Well...chalk that up as one reason that Otis' rumor is bs. No legit source would say the Sox are going to do something that isn't available...now if in fact there is some sidebar to being able to trade them..then my bad.
  4. I give a BIG :fyou to all of the East Coast for making me have to get up at 9:30 Am so I can get to the bar to catch my Bears games
  5. Teens want to have sex because it is thought of as this evil candy. All you hear is your whole life...wait wait wait...wait wait wait, but you also hear how great it is and eventually most say screw it. Look at Europe... I don't know their STD rates, but Teen Pregnancy is insanely lower then it is in the US. They are a much more open society when it comes to Sex. My thought is, just be smart about it. Use protection and me, I couldn't have a one night stand...because if she's willing to do me after one night I have to wonder how many others has she done the first night. And thats not cause I have a low opinion of myself..but still...one night, just couldn't do it. Now if it was Kristin Kreuk...ya...that be another story
  6. Over what was already offered...or is that simply their demands. I mean I am guessing that Boston was already offering to pay a few mill a year, so it could still be a minimal difference.
  7. LMAO...just remember why Monday Night Football games start so late on the east coast...WEST COAST POWER
  8. While I'm not gonna rip Otis...I still find a lot of that stuff hard pressed and I think there have been at least a few of us speculating that the Sox could get Nomar..the question always was whether they'd be willing to hold on. As far as Everett...is their a clause that says you can't sign a player and then deal him a little later? Thats the question, I don't know. He'd be a superior pickup to Gonzalez simply because the Sox are desperate for left handed pop.
  9. Because baseball is a business and sometimes things happen and they don't go through. If he stays in Chicago, Maggs is a class act, and I have no doubt he'd bring his A game. Maggs will always be one of my favorite players and he'll be greatly missed, but at the same time, The Sox tried to work an extension and now they are moving on to Nomar...who could be the type of star poewr the Sox need...or could be turned into pitching, pitching and more pitching. Its all so wait and see right now. But if the Sox get Nomar...then Evans gets the short end of the stick because he has absolutely no leverage and either overpays for Nomar or gets Konerko (Solid...but the Sox get there wish too, cause they get pitching and a bit of payroll relief). The huge question is...will Nomar stay, if he does, will the Sox pay him, and does this mean their budget goes up.
  10. If thats the case and its a 5 mill difference a season...then I'd say it would be a MAJOR stumbling block and I wouldn't do the deal if I were Boston. Thats a ton of money when you think about it. Hopefully its not the case.
  11. Oh for sure...having the best player in the game playing in a city like Boston will make a lot more money then in a place like Texas...plus there is the whole east coast bias.
  12. I'm sure Einhorn will be involved to a point. Him and JR are the two main people in the organization, well in terms of setting the budget and all that. But KW has got to be the one behind the trades...JR has just given him the approval to let it happen and if you ask me thats why JR was at the winter meetings. For KW to even consdier this, he had to know JR was gonna agree with it, otherwise there is no point.
  13. When you've worked this hard and this much money involved, 5 mill isn't going to stop the deal. The question is will one play really hard to get and force the other one into the corner. You know Texas wants Arod and his contract out of there big time (They will save like 80 mill..if not more) and Boston wants to show up the Yanks big time..both are incredibly motivated. One of them will bite or they will just split the difference.
  14. Don't be so sure of it. LA is in a state of flux right now and there is no idea whether they will be able to offer Nomar the bucks it takes. Plus, we may here he wants to go to LA, but let KW/JR and Tellem/Nomar work things and see. The Fire have are a good MLS team, maybe Mia Hamm can be the first female to play in the MLS.
  15. Only that the Sox have done some background checks. I don't think Juan Gone fits unless the Sox move Konerko to the Dodgers and hold onto Nomar (A distinct possibility) and then the Sox would have a few options: Option A: Keep Lee in left, let Frank play first, DH Juan Gone Option B: Move Lee to 1st, Juan Gone in Lf, Frank to DH Option C: A mixture of all of these. The one problem with Juan Gone is the Sox would have a very very right handed lineup. Carl Everett would be a great option because he would be more then capable of playing right field and would provide lefty pop (switch hitter). The question is could the Sox deal a lesser type prospect to get him???
  16. Completely agree. I want to keep Nomar and just sign someone to play right.
  17. I think if LA is involved that KW is the one calling the shots, but he may use Hahn or someone else to actually do the talking simply to keep Evans from just hanging up the phone. Either way, this seems exactly like a KW type move. He's bold, agressive, and in my opinion has a huge passion for the game and wanting to see the Sox win a series. Who knows if it will work out or not. I do think it will be JR thats involved if the Sox keep Nomar. It will be his relations with Tellem and his willingness to say hey...this guy could bring fans to the park and compete with Sammy and the Cubs. If thats the case, then I think he will stay with the Sox.
  18. Borchard has done nothing the past two years to warrant consideration for the job, but he has potential. I still don't think he breaks spring with the job. And an OF with Rowand/Harris in cf, and Borchard/Reed in right would be risky if the Sox don't have the pitching to make up for the lack of offense. Now if the Sox acquire Randy Wynn to leadoff or Guillen to hit in the two hole, then it makes it more likely, although I think there is some truth to Juan Gonzalez, imo. But if there is, it won't happen for a long while and I'll hold out hope that the Sox get Carl Everett back
  19. If it were me...I'd ask Mota and two stud prospets and take my chances at getting Washburn and Garcia when they get non-tendered. Thats only if they don't keep Nomar.
  20. Mix that with the fact the Sox really don't have much depth at shortstop. It could make sense to offer Nomar a 4 yr deal for 13 mill a season. Would he accept it, thats another story?
  21. He got him back with marte and Ruddy Yan though. Still...I've always said from day one...Kip was the one they should of held onto.
  22. Munoz would be my guess...I still dont' think the Sox should give up any, but thats my personal opinion. Here's the question, who is more valuable...Magglio or Nomar. My preference if it were straight up would possibly be Magglio. I realize the production is so tough out of a shortstop, but Maggs is much more proven and has been healthy. Still, if Nomar puts fannies in the seats and the Sox get Williamson, I don't have a problem with it. Especially if it means JR ups the payroll That and I think Nomar, could make a HUGE HUGE impact. Now if we are talking about getting Nomar and then picking up someone like Everett (Trading for the Expos...just giving up a PTBNL) then I love the deal....absolutely love it. FOr the Dodgers, if we have Nomar...hold out for two of their 3 pitching prospects, I think they could. No matter what deal Jose to the Mariners.
  23. I think you could. Rumors are just that, they go on and on. Now I don't think Ramirez could be brought back, but Magglio, no doubt in my mind you could.
  24. If these are photos of you steff...then I want in
  25. 61382...I know the feeling. I think the most likely possibility is the Sox keeping Nomar and moving Jose and Konerko to the Mariners and Dodgers respectively. This clears enough payroll for the Sox and they can get a leadoff hitter or 2 hole hitter for Jose and a starting pitcher for Konerko as well as clear up enough of a chunk of payroll that the Sox would be under budget. Of course they now have a void in rf, and still could use another reliever, but Koch could be on the move and the Sox could up the budget a few more mill. If it goes down, this will probably be the biggest deal the Sox make, but far from the last, imo.
