  10. In the case of wsc, I've known for quite some time that he was posting under beastly. He served his suspension a ways back and decided it would be best if he changed his name. I didn't have a problem with it and I think he's shown a great improvement on the boards. Now if someone is banned and try returning under new names, it won't work because their IP addie is banned and they wont' be able to view the site.
  11. If Maggs gets shipped out then I wouldn't necessarily look against Sheff coming here.
  12. Bastard...I was part excited part worried. Mainly excited cause I know were dealing with Dan Evans
  13. The one thing about Guzman is he has had only one good year and he still has a long ways to go. Still he has some definate upside and should come relatively cheap if available. Caberra is still my #1 choice when it comes to reasonable options.
  14. I don't mind Vazquez, but I wouldn't give up anything too decent for him. He really reminds me of Jimenez. I'm not comparing attitudes, but I just find them to be similar players. Good OBP, solid defensively. Remember, I was a big Jimenez fan, so this isn't a knock on Vazquez.
  15. While its very unlikely for the Marlins to beat Prior and Wood, just think about how likely it is to go 95 years or however the heck long they've went without a world series. You could insert us in here too.
  16. Whoops, brain fart. But I agree, no way can Castillo go to short. I also think there is a definate concern in regards to his stolen base totals going down. That being said I also think early in the season it was pretty much a given that he was gone. Its no defense as he needs to learn to pick and chose at a better rate, but he's always been pretty good on the paths and has amazing speed. Plus a .380 OBP at the leadoff spot is exceptional.
  17. I beg to differ, offenses can win division (see Atlanta and Cleveland throughout the 90s). Are offense wasn't consistent at all though. We would have 10 run outbursts followed by a 1 or 2 run performance. Offenses can win divisions but it doesn't win in the playoffs. Atlanta's pitching won the divisions in the 90's. Cleveland..... I'll give you that one. But Cleveland didn't win any WS's even though they did get to the big one once. Cleveland had no competition.
  18. All of his quotes seem to say he wants to build his team around pitching, pitching, speed, defense, and more pitching. And I for one back that idea to the Nth degree. Now I hope they follow through with it. I will have an open mind this offseason if they deal some of the socalled stars to make room for pitching and talented speedsters. The only thing I care about is the product on the field and I don't care what they have to do to get the right combination out there.
  19. That would mean crazy horse right?
  20. Hideki Matsui, Rich Aurilla, and Orlando Cabrerra are also FA. Christian Guzman is slated to be available as well if the Twins stick to what they've hinted.
  21. That's why they need to play in San Juan again and more games. They Averaged 14,500 here and if they would put ticket prices like they do in montreal more would come. Now the thing is they have fix the schedule so it ain't so brutal. And there's a strong rumor that there coming down here again in 2004 just some details gotta be fixed.. Sheesh don't bogart all the ML action to yourselfs One question, do you think a full schedule would hurt attendance or create more of a following? I mean if I knew that a team was only coming a few games, then I'd think more people would go when they were in time cause it was more of a special ocassion. That being said if they are permanently their, I'd think they would get more of a diehard following which could result in good fan support too.
  22. I still have SoxNet set as my homepage.
  23. What a weird day, my grandma went into the hospital today, but all the tests came back ok so she is just staying the night as a precaution. Mark, I'm really sorry to hear that about your grandma. I know you were very close to her. I wish her and your family the best.
