Agreed....except I am not positive that we will be out of it by the All-Star break. I realize KW is not in charge anymore....but he put the team together....and teams that KW has put together have, in the past, had 2 very terrible months, 2 months where they played decently, and 2 months where they played outstanding baseball. This is our second month of terrible baseball. The only hope we have left is that the above holds true. Thats teams that are managed by JM. You look at 2000 and really thats exactly how the Sox were.

He made the error that allowed them to score. Ill never support Crede again. Crede, PK, Manuel, KW, Einhorn, JR and Buehrle are on my permanent Sox blacklist... How are they on your list yet Frank isn't. If all it takes is one freaking game then why the hell isn't every player on the majors on your list?
-
Why is Crede getting blamed. The guy plays awesome defense and makes one freaking mistake. Everyone is gonna botch a play here and there. It sucks that it happened with the game on the line but thats life. Fact is the offense should score more runs and if your serious about Walker getting canned already then I don't know what your thinking. It takes quite a while before a hitting coach can make adjustments and even when the adjustments are made it takes quite a while until the player gets comfortable with them.

I'm pissed too. Just went to the guide looking for it and the freaking thing isn't on. What a bunch of crapola. I just thought of something awesome though, Joey B's been called up just in time, the Sox-Dodgers Series is coming up! Oh ya, thats in like two weeks. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

That is the theory I'm using, lol.

Thanks for the update

Just create a new thread. Like I said I never saw it so I don't know, but its cool in my book to do so. Like I say, the more Sox fans the merrier. We all can agree that the Sox are the most kick butt team in the majors (even if their record doesn't show it; it will at the end of the postseason).

Calling Up Borchard May be Beneficial By Alex Ernst May 23, 2003 SoxNet.net Today the Sox called up slugger Joe Borchard from the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. Even though Borchard has been out to a slow start with Charlotte, this may not be a bad move for the Sox. The Sox outfield has been juggled in recent games, with the only player staying in the same position being Carlos Lee. Magglio Ordonez has been playing more and more center recently, giving an opportunity for Brian Daubach to gain playing time by starting games in right. Sox manager Jerry Manuel has, in the past, always played the Sox’s newest player in the game immediately after he is called up, and not letting him leave the lineup for a while. This should make things interesting in the lineup, as Ordonez will most likely be moving back to right. This leaves Daubach, who has been heating up as of late, out in the cold. Expect to see Konerko or Thomas getting time off as Manuel will want to get Daubach in the lineup as much as possible. While Borchard has not yet found his spark this year in Charlotte, this may be his chance to prove he belongs in the majors. Despite his lower than usual slugging numbers to this point, he still has a lot of raw power that is very sorely needed for the light-hitting Sox.

Friday May 23rd Pick to Click
Chisoxfn replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Konerko!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Vince, just make a post and include the picks in todays thread and make note that the other two picks are for the day after and the day after thats game. I'm assuming that would be adequate.

Me...I still back Ken Williams.

All I'm going to say is I don't know how this Winner argument is made on Jose. I don't have stats in front of me, but I'd say the 2000 Sox were the only playoff team he played on and I know he's been on a ton of losing teams. People get labeled has winners cause they play hard, etc, but there are plenty of guys in the majors that play hard and don't make all the mistakes Jose does. He's a below avg defensive shortstop and avgerage offensively. He is clutch and I Think he'd be a very productive utlility player, but he is not the shortstop I would want if I were on a world series type team. In the playoffs defense is about 10 times more important and with jose there you know there will be mistakes and playoff teams capatilize of anothers mistakes.

Most of them were called up.
-
John, I don't have a clue what happened, but I'm sorry about it. I just got in from school so I wasn't around earlier. It could of been accidentally removed or their could of been a glitch or some sort.
-
Agreed, we have an option year next year and the Sox can mull over it then (If he's still pitching awesome). Now if during the offseason he finished this year and pitched awesome, then the Sox could also try to get him to a sign a few year deal at a discount rate.
-
He could potentially contribute off the bench if he was on a team that was in great need for hitters. While statiscally it looks like that with the Sox, it really isn't the case and we have quite a few more options ahead of him. He's got to just hope he gets a shot and can stick with some team as a role player.

Happy Bday Colon, don't each too much birthday cake. Ah hell, eat whatever you want as long as you stay healthy and pitch awesome for the Sox. I want you wearing a Sox uniform for years to come.

Guillen was a top prospect way back when (I think with the Pirates). This guy has all the tools, would be a nice pickup. Were gonna see borchard though and I'm excited for that. I hope he's playing today. My theory is all these guys with limited potential aren't doing crap so Borchard should be able to do what they do while developing into a pure stud.

Temecula, huh? Hope you stay away from that ghetto casino they have up there, Pechanga. The management sucks. Ah yes, Pechanga and all the other damn casinos you hear advertised on the sports talk stations like Xtra. Hey WU, did you use to listen to 690 at night with Randy Jones and the Coach when they did their baseball shows? Personally I think it blows how they went to all that network wide crap. I liked how they had local shows.
-
Damn that couldn't work out any better for you. The one person who was calling for him to come up all along and now you get to see him. Hopefully he crushes the ball all weekend.
-
I'm definately watching tonights game. For a while I've been thinking that maybe all Joe needs is the jump to AAA where he can work with Walker, Manuel and the rest of the staff and just kind of have fun and get adjusted to major league pitching. Hopefully he will keep improving like I think he will. He's a hell of a defensive player, has great speed and can make things happen.
-
Hope you can go swimming cause its going to be hot out here (Cali) By the way, welcome back. Not sure about the post, but just make a new one, you guys and gals know what to do. You and everyone else on the net that are Sox fans are always welcome here.

I was hoping for the same.

I would wonder, but I'm assuming it is because Melvin Mora doesn't want to play second base and the second baseman they called up is pretty highly thought of or at least thats what the Angel announcers were saying. I just think they were doing this so Matthews could try to start somewhere else.
