Sox Net Chatroom
Your damn right it should be. At least now I'm done and can head out for the night and have some fun.

Willie Harris
Well with Borchard down Harris is getting more time in center meaning he'd be ready if needed. Right now I think the Sox are being very patient and won't rush anything in terms of callups for another few weeks. I think they kind of know that if Rowand doesnt' make it here, he may not make it at all so they are trying to handle him carefully. He does still have some trade value though, so even if he's not in the future come June or July I think they could move him along with someone else for help in another area.

KC leads 4-0
Well as long as the Sox play and take care of business then I have no worries about the other teams in our division.

NFL Draft
Right now my best guess is they are talking up Robertson so much to increase trade value. If a team is going to move up, it will be to snag Robertson unless somehow Rogers falls to our slot. Robertson is the talk of most teams boards and I think the Bears will use that to move down and get Boller and an extra 2nd rounder and later pick. To me their is no secret that he is Angelo's guy and then in the 2nd they will draft a cb and a dlineman or maybe even a corner. Now if they could get 2 first rounders, they probably would.

Mark, the link won't work like that. You can't use a doteasy link cause it only lets people with your login and password access that.

Sox Net Chatroom
I'm going to update the link on the main page this weekend and then we'll make it more known to come to the chatroom during the games. Wasn't there today, been doing homework, which sucks.

the look
It was a nice play but he kind of seems like he zones off out there. One thing I notice is that Hurt really seems to be getting along with everyone. He had a huge smile after the double and when he went into the dugout him and Jose were laughing and he really seems to be part of the "team" and not just a member of the team.

Baines
The Orioles announcers said he was helping the Sox as a special coach or something. They mentioned something he said about Rowand and how the coaching staff things he can go get anything and has a real good arm and that the Sox are still high on him. Great game by Loazia and it was great to see Koch get the save, even if he didn't look perfect. I noticed he was working on keeping the ball down and when he was missing he was missing low, which is a big improvement from the past couple games where he was missing up.

Happy B-day
Gracious. Now if only my teachers would cancel the tests I have scheduled this week. I have two of them the day after my birthday. Hopefully the Sox can win tomorrow and only one more year before I can do this legally

Jose Reyes
That kid has a lot of hype. Our own Ruddy Yan is doing damn good himself with around a .400 avg Then their is Willie Harris hitting up a storm. Of course Reyes is one of the best prospects in the majors. I like our guys a lot too though. They are fast and I hope one of them can make it cause I love having speed at the top of the order.

Popup Ads..?
Ok Talked to the server company and they were doing work the past 2 weeks, rebuilding and cleaning the mysql logs which is what we use to help run this board. I guess our site is more high maintenance then most of them, but they did it slowly so their would just be a few one minute outages each day instead of one day. Anyway, I was told that everything should be fixed as of tonight. I'm also talking to them about moving us to a brand new server. Either way the issue should be solved.

Garland
Lawrence was the guy I wanted the Sox to acquire this past offseason. He was one of the names I mentioned. The kid is really talented despite not having great stuff and just signed a very affordable contract extension. I don't even think you would have to give up Garland for him. Still, I'm happy with our team. 4 starts aren't a season, after 7 or 8 I'll be worried.

The NBA is exactly where I got this idea from. They always phony injuries to the point that they might as well just expand the rosters and get rid of the IL. I wish the MLP Player's Union was as weak as the NBA's. The MLBPA is way too strong and causes too many problems. Such as steroids and all the supplements that major leaguers can use. I'm glad that minor leaguers don't use it, but its kind of unfair to them considering that they can't cheat, while the major leaguers that they are trying to beat out for jobs can cheat. I just hope that the minor leaguers now learn to play without using steroids (Not saying they all use them, but I'm sure some do. If I were in their shoes I'd be trying everything possible to make it to the show) and that they will continue to not use them once they reach the majors and slowly they will root the problem out. But with all the big contracts (Thank goodness it seems like their won't be near as many huge contracts anymore) out there, players will always have reason to use steroids and others until they are finally tested for them and suspended if caught.

Cotts pitching shutout ball
At least when Malone is pitching terrible, you can look forward to seeing another lefty in Cotts pitch excellent. I still think Birmingham will recover. They have a really good pitching staff imo. They are just going to have to really improve at getting runners on. That offense has been hideous thus far.

Secret Societies
Are these like those secret socieities that go on at the IVY league schools and such? I just remember the preview for that movie "The Skulls" or whatever it was called way back when.

The ones in Chicago ocassionally tailgate and such. I'm out in Cali and I know there is a big contigence of us on the boards. There are a few in Oregon and I'd safely say we probably have a poster from each state on the board and a few countries. Either way, I think we have a great group here and I'm sure their will be many more great Sox fans coming over, especially after the Sox keep winning and winning. Some of course will be bandwagoners, but hey, if you get Bandwagon fans it means your doing something good so I don't have a problem with that. Also, I have seen some attacks lately but I'd like to say that I respect everyones opinion on here when it comes to baseball. Things have gotten heated at times and almost everytime things have ended up calming down and many times those that argue start to respect eachother more. I'm a firm believer that the people here can handle things and settle their own differences without personal attacks and if they go that way that they can get themselves out of it. Us admins/mods here try to just keep the trolls away and give the fans a place to give their opinion, whether its a rant of how much we suck or how great we are. I'd like to say that if people disagree with a certain poster about personal opinions to go ahead and say it, but when it does come to name calling, please stick away from it, it just isn't productive, kind of like our offense early in the season (Although I have no doubt it will be potent very soon). Anyway like Steff said: Back to Baseball The "Cali Contingent" should get together and tailgate this season at Oakland, LA, and/or Anaheim I think were planning on it. Well I will be planning on it in at least Anaheim and LA. We'll have to plan things out closer to the game. Even if we aren't all sitting near eachother, we could tailgate or something before the game (At least Saturdays at Dodger stadium)

Garland
Well I think Baggs and I to a lesser extent would of agreed to that last year. Baggs probably still agrees, but I go with what I saw in Spring and I think this kid will be fine. Now if we could use Garland and say Lee to pull down a 3rd ace like AJ Burnett than I'm all for it. or stewart and a cat prospect from tor. Watching Olivo I know he's going to be good. He's got a very short swing and hits the ball to the opposite field with power. Give this kid a full season of mentoring (This Season) and you'll see quite the catcher next year and the following years. This kid shutsdown the running game and may just develop 20 homer power. He also has great speed and is so aggressive, yet smart, on the basepaths. The more I watch him, the more I really like him. Another thing I thought about, after Rex, made his comments on Malone. Considering Malone probably still has very good value, we could package him with someone as well to land another starter, if necessary.

I don't think the players union would allow that. It happens in the Minors, but I don't think it is realistic in this scenario. The Sox just need to send JP down and gamble that he will clear waivers. If he doesn't, it would not be the end of the world. Plus, if he doesn't then they could just take him back and not send him down. Either way the Sox should just give it a shot and see if he'd get through. I think they were hoping they could trade him for a catcher with options. If I were Ken Williams that would be my plan because it is a complete waste carrying three catchers. Unlike most I have no problem with Paul, its just I'd rather have Ginter up here. I wouldn't want Harris or Borchard here unless they were going to get regular at bats. No sense in letting them sit on the bench. Harris is working on his new approach at the plate and that takes at bats, while Borchard is working with the adjustments he made to his swing during the summer.

I'd agree with you on that. "Show me a pitcher who throws strikes and isn't afraid to throw inside and I'll show you a guy thats going to be sucessful more often then not. "

Cotts pitching shutout ball
I've had those same worries. The one thing that keeps me bright about him is just how talented the kid is. The problem is he's so raw and doesn't have anywhat of a smooth delivery.
