  1. Got the first two guys out. His era is 19.86 entering the game and he has only pitched 2/2/3 innings or so. He's throwing right around 89-90 and looks solid.
  2. Last nights game was the final straw for me. I am sick of seeing him sit on the dugout with absolutely no emotion. First off he made a stupid mistake letting Carlos Lee hit with a couple runners on. He should of pinch hit and brought in the lefty, Brian Daubach. Then, Rowand through a guy out and he just sat in the dugout. Whats up with that JM? You don't need to turn into Larry Bowa but if an ump makes a mistake you get your butt out there and show the players you support them and if you think he's out (Which he was) then make a voice for yourself. Maybe the reason the team has such little attitude at times is because of you. So often do they look bored out their and its ridiculous. I'm ready to fire him. I don't care what our record is, I can't see him taking the Sox to the next level (Which is winning the World Series). In my book its time for Bobby Valentine. Call ESPN up and hire him away from Baseball Tonight. Valentine knows how to spark a club and is a great manager, imo. He had a tough luck year last season with the Mets, but that was an injury riddled team that was greatly over-rated.
  3. They were just glasses, Jimenez wears them as well. He was wearing them on Tuesday as well. If their is something wrong with his eye then he should speak up, cause he's on his way to getting benched or traded.
  4. You know Heather, I do find it funny that you jump on guys like Garland and White yet your boy Lee continues to suck horrificly and you continue to defense him Either way I haven't given up on any of our players. Lee has one month to prove me that what I've constantly said about him is right (That is that he's going to have a big time season). If he doesn't live up to it, then I'm officially going to push for Lee to be traded with Daubach becoming the starter. Garland is going to be fine, and he's going to be a very good major league pitcher and it will be this year. He's only going to get better. He's usually a slow starter and with his stuff and he's got better control then before as well as know how, he will be a-ok. I also think Rick White, Flash, Konerko and anyone else struggling will be alright. Well, I don't think Josh Paul will ever be right.
  5. I don't think I've ever seen a Twin fan over here.
  6. I don't think he'll ever make it back to the mound, at least not in the majors.
  7. Minor League Recap By Jason Gage April 10, 2003 (For April 9th's Games) SoxNet.net
  8. Yep, it was an ugly game. Gonna have the entire minor league recap up in about 10 minutes. Not much work for this one though considering only one game was played.
  9. When the Sox drafted Malone they completely rebuilt his delivery so it will take him some time. This kid will be really good though, as long as he stays healthy. He'll probably go up to AAA in the second half of the season, but I could see him playing another full season of AAA next year as well.
  10. Well, for once in the past 10 years the Braves need pitching.
  11. It sure is amazing. This is three straight games he's pitched in where the team has given up over 10 runs. I know they didn't want him back to begin with, but still, Maddux has to get better.
  12. He was out and I think JM should of done something. It was obviously a close play and if you look at the replay you see that he's out. I'm not telling JM to argue about every little thing like Larry Bowa, but that play makes a difference and considering how lifeless the team was looking, you got to do something. Plus, he had a very legit gripe. Manuel needs to stay in Cleveland while the rest of the team heads to Detroit. What was even stupider was leaving Carlos Lee up with a couple guys on. With him struggling you have to go to Daubach.
  13. Jordan had second thoughts as you can see in this article http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-b...ov=ap&type=lgns Also, Scottie Pippen told the Bulls that if they were to offer the midlevel exception and some type of management position or something along those lines he'd be playing with the Bulls last year. I was never a huge Pippen fan, but he'd be the perfect addition to this team, imo. Jordan, Pipp, Paxson and BJ eventually in the same front office, sounds like a plan to me. I think they all have their plusses and I'm very comfortable with any of Jordan, Paxson or BJ in the front office.
  14. You mean like Jim Parque? I Think I'd have to laugh like this for a few hundred years before I ever thought that
  15. Hey, I don't think I'm over-hyping him. I usually am on the conservating end when it comes to prospects and I think I'm being conservative saying that he'll be a star if he doesn't get injured. Part of me thinks he could be one of the greatest of all time, if not the greatest, but I'm not going to even think that until I see him keep pitching awesome and continuing to get better over the years. It takes a lot more then talent and control to become the best ever, you have to be flat out amazing.
  16. Between the Ears with Sports Psych Chris Myers By Chris Myers April 10, 2003 SoxNet.net
  17. All I know is I sure as heck don't want to see that one.
  18. I wish I watched it. Prior is plain filthy. An injury is the only way this guy doesn't live up to his hype. He features so many plus pitchers and more importantly he can throw them all for strikes and has an effortless delivery. This kid is so mature for his age. I have to say he's the best pticher I've ever seen for his age. *Remember I'm 19 so I haven't been watching baseball as long as some. Either way I think he's amazing. I never saw Doc Gooden do what he did to start his career.
  19. Recap: Garland Beat Again, Sox Lose 5-2 By Mario Scalise April 9, 2003 SoxNet.net Jon Garland was hit for five runs in six innings and the offense came up empty on several chances as the Sox fell to the Indians Wednesday night, 5-2. Garland is now 0-1 on the season with a 9.00 ERA, giving up 10 runs in 10 innings pitched, and the Sox are back to .500 at 4-4. On the other side, Indians' starter Brian Anderson improved to 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA after his six-inning, two-run outing. The Indians jumped on top to an early lead and never looked back, scoring two runs in the second with a Karim Garcia single. Milton Bradley and Omar Vizquel, who scored on the play, reached base with an infield single to second and soft single to right center. The Sox had their chance in the first to start things off with a D'Angelo Jimenez leadoff walk, but Jimenez was picked off first by Anderson. Tony Graffanino then doubled, followed by a Frank Thomas strikeout and Magglio Ordonez fly out to end the inning. Paul Konerko connected for his first homer and fourth hit of the season in the second to cut the defecit in half. But the Indians came right back with a run off a Milton Bradley sacrifice fly to right, scoring Casey Blake. Up 3-1, the Indians added a fourth run in the fourth with a Brandon Phillips solo home run, and a fifth run in the seventh off of reliever Kelly Wunsch. Wunsch came in for Garland after Garland gave up a leadoff double. After getting Bradley to fly out, Phillips stole third and then scored on a Vizquel sacrifice fly. The Sox added their second and last run in the fifth with Josh Paul -- starting at catcher -- hitting a single and scoring two outs later on a Thomas double. Anderson was pulled after six innings in favor of Jose Santiago. Santiago threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings and Danys Baez picked up his third save with 1 2/3 scoreless innings. The Sox failed on two other scoring chances. Once in the third with two men in scoring position and one out, which resulted in an Ordonez fly out and Jimenez getting thrown out at the plate after tagging up. Then, with men on first and second in the eighth, Konerko and Carlos Lee were put out to end the inning. Rick White relieved Wunsch with two outs in the seventh, ending the inning and throwing a scoreless 1-2-3 eighth. Joe Crede committed his third error of the season with a errant throw to first base in the seventh off a grounder. The series' finale will be on Thursday at 6:05 p.m. CT with Mark Buehrle -- moving up to Esteban Loaiza's spot -- starting against 22-year-old righty Jason Davis. Loaiza will now start the opening series against the Tigers, followed by Josh Stewart and Bartolo Colon going in games two and three.
