  1. Just remember this SI, he has never pitched in AA even, so this is a whole new level. I know what you mean though, but if you want to see guys panning out, look no further then Colon and Koch Also Jimenez!!
  2. What I like about him is his high k totals. Despite not being a power pitcher he was able to get so many k's which is a good sign for his "stuff". This guy hasn't even pitched in AA let alone against major league pitching, so I don't exactly expect him to dominate. At least I think he was pitching in High A ball last year.
  3. Dang, that wouldn't of been too bad. Portland wants a team bad. I've heard some people say that they may be the front runner, but baseball also wants to go down into some other areas, possibly Mexico and of course Puerto Rico.
  4. Like Dan Wright wright wins 14 games his first full season as a starter and we are gonna move him to the pen???..please..neither should go to the pen but garland should go before wright Baggs, disagree. Garland really impressed me in spring training. His bullpen sessions were spectacular. So were Colon's. I like wright a whole lot and think he has front of the line stuff, but right now I'm scared big time about his health. Wright definately needs more time. No way do you put a guy that pitched darn good down the stretch last year and is just getting started. I'm with Baggs on Wright, always will be too I think. Last year baggs and I agreed on Garland being over-rated. This year he's improved a whole lot, imo. It started when Coop came here and he started throwing other pitches then just a fastball.
  5. Mota should be suspended a real long time. This is ridiculous. Mota can get it up there (I'm talking 98 or so) and I don't know whether he was throwing that hard, but enough is enough. If your going to hit a guy, go for it, but you don't hurt them. Plus, what the hell are you throwing at a guy in a spring training game for. Gimme a break Mota. Plus, I'm sure Piazza is more pissed on this subject after the Clemens incident.
  6. I thought Wusnch could get it up on the radar a bit more, like 86-88. Don't quote me on that though.

  9. Ok everyone, the tempers have flaired to a point and now we all need to calm down. The political talk has gotten way too heated and I beg that when political topics come up, people stick to the issue, no personal attacks and all that type of stuff. We just all need to take a few deep breaths
  10. I agree with you 100%. He's got real good stuff and has made a huge transistion since being drafted in college. This kid was rushed like no other and has handled it very well, getting better each year and I think he'll do real good this year, as long as he's HEALTHY.
  11. ya know not that i want him in the 4th spot but.. i think that he and colon should be split by 1 or 2 spots anyhow.... why put your 2 best up back to back when you can spread out the wins instead??? jmho............ You don't want them split because the two will make eachother better when pitching back to back. They both have completely different pitching styles and one is a lefty the other a righty. Colon the power pitcher, Buehrle the guy with a ton of pitches that goes quick and uses his control. It will be real hard for teams to adjust to the contrasting styles. Neither cared who started first, Sox fans complained that Buehrle should be the #1 and thats what happened. Supposedly the pitchers new about it a long time ago.
  12. The one big reason the Valentine loss was big was we don't really have many right handed hard throwing relief prospects that are close. Now if we get Gary Majewski back, then we will have another to team up with the changeup-low 90 fastball pitcher Almonte. Still, its nice having a ton of lefties. Of course we have plenty of hard throwing starters out there, that could eventually move to the pen.
  13. I thought it was real interesting too. I learned a good deal from it and am looking forward to Chris's next segment.
  14. Heather, the terms that drove Rivals into the ground a while back were much different then this current crew. As Mario said we discussed this with them quite a bit. We entered the whole thing thinking there was no way we'd make the move, but after hearing it made so much sense. We could provide better content, update stuff quicker, get the stuff out on a more national level, and really make an even better place for all you guys and gals to get your info and talk White Sox baseball. Don't worry, if things ever turn out not to look good, we'll do all we can to get things set back in the right direction. We don't anticpate any problems like that. To make their story short, they weren't there when Rivals was smashed into the ground. This guys were the original founders of Rivals and were there during their in the beginning. Now they are founding this network and its going to be sweet or thats what we believe. The college and NFL segments are already huge and baseball is the next step.

  16. I noticed the same thing. I didn't see any quotes that really stated the obvious. It seemed to me like this guy giving an opinion on a few short words and what the context of the words were, we don't know.

  18. No, does it show on your computer?
  19. Nope. I look at the thing your posting and it says that it is not found on that server.
  20. Haven't tried it, but I will try the Sox game tomorrow. For some reason I thought it was going to be on on Friday. Its eve nbetter if its Thursday since I'm off of work then.
  21. He continues as "Lead Developer" as well as being on of the minor league guru's and 3rd in command at SoxNet.net and Soxtalk.com
  22. If I recall this is typicaly Frank. Usually he doesn't play that much early on in spring. He likes spending more time in the cages (I think). Plus he knows that Daubach and company are all contending for jobs so JM is trying to get those guys a lot more ab's. Thomas is also coming back from his tooth thing and its probably still bugging him a bit. He'll really pick up his ab's starting around the 17-20th, just my hunch.
  23. From whta I see the link you put in is wrong cause it didn't work when I tried copying the source.
  24. Well remember, you got to register and all that stuff so its not super easy to troll. I don't think we have to worry about it though, and if there is a problem, we'll get rid of it. We have a ton of admins on board and during the day one of them is typically around and would see it.
