got places for the Sox overnight
Sleepover must be a cool event. Problem is, if I was on the field, I'd be wanting to play baseball so I'd be drilling everyone in the field. Didn't last years get rained on?

got my seat assignment today

New Graphic Is UP
Not many good photos of Carlos. How bout one of him whiffing Ouch, Jason!!! wadda ya ouchin about there heather.. there should be a ton of pics like that layin around somewhere...........maybe a rare shot of him actually catching a ball would be nicer for ya........... Well, I've got PLENTY of great pictures of him at the place. I COULD spare one, but it's gonna cost a bunch! I take it the ball was already in the mitt on all the pictures you got of him Ummm, the picture I've got of him on my wall here in my dorm room is one of him looking out as he hits one of his many home runs! But, see, Jason. Carlos and I have a nice stash of pictures in our sacred box. NOBODY gets to go into that box. So is that where you put all the pictures of him whiffing, getting picked off, or running back on a ball that is about to drop 15 feet in front of him? I see, you have this grand conspiracy to keep all criminating photos out of the hands of the press. At least you have one picture of him you can be proud of, and don't ever let anyone find out the real secret that lies in that box: "Carlos Lee's Birth Certificate that clearly says next to the name section, Dumbass Caballo

JM has lost My Support
Michelle, I can't see KW making phone calls to Jerry during the game telling him who to put in. If thats the case then this organization absolutely blows and they will truly never win until they are all far away from Chicago. maybe they should just cut the phone cord in the dugout....then jerry could run his team like he should...........but i will say this, after maggs homer tonite he did get off his ass and go out to discuss the umps desire to not rule it a homer at first..................so he does move once in a while...... Well since I was mistaken on him not coming out on the earlier call, I will take back my comments to a point. Still I meant what I said about Carlos. Agreed, he did a good job on the homer by Maggs. I do think that when a manager isn't vocal often it is good, because when they say something, everyone listens. Like if Bowa came up to me, I'd pretty much ignore his entire speil and if I heard a swear word, I'd just eject him. (Thats if I was an ump)

how bad have maggs - konerko - lee been???
im all for dumping lee...im not sure about konerko..but if we did what you suggest then that money better go towards picking up maggs option and resigning bartolo long term good question...if we could only afford to keep one..who would it be..konerko or colon??? btw..dominant damaso just finished of the 9 little indians Colon, no doubt about it. Pitching wins games. You can find first baseman that could put up similar numbers to Konerko for less money. I'm one of Konerkos biggest fans (Been following him since he was a Dodger) but first baseman are easy to find. You could have someone like Derrick Lee and in our offense he'd be very good and defensively he's very good. You could even get someone like Eric Karros (For Cheap after this season) and have him put up similar production in a good lineup, imo. Having an ace pitcher is what its all about. Look through the majors and any team with pitching will compete, no matter how crappy their offense is. Thats why the Cubs will likely compete this season, even though they may have the worse offense in baseball and without Sammy, potentially the worse offense in the history of baseball. Think of it this way, take PK a way and you play Daubach at 1st, how much production do u really lose? Now take Colon away and insert Rauch into the rotation and how much production do you lose? Our rotation would be so weak (I know the potential is their, but potential means crap when it comes to competing/winning; production is what matters)

Minor League Recap
I tend to agree with you. I think he's going to be one of those guys that you start off in the pen for a year. Then you move him to the rotation eventually in the next season and then that following year he really turns into a good starter. I think he'll be productive pretty much the whole way, but one of those guys you work through slowly. Just like I think he will not be on the roster next year until September as he'll have about a year and a half in AAA.

Hopefully him and Koch will be a great duo for years to come. I absolutely love Damaso. Throws strikes and has two nasty pitches and I kind of think of his slider like two pitches. A break sweeper and a hard and tight one.

Thank goodness we had Marte. And to think, I was wondering why we were getting him up to start the inning. Nice call JM

Inning Over, Marte strikes this guy out too. I love DAMASO

Nice, The Whiff. Great job Marte. One more. If we get this next guy up, then Glover comes in for the ninth. Anything else, and were going to have Koch in real quick.

Ya, then JM muttered something to Sandy. Damn I wish they had it miced.

Ump was really pressing Flash. No excuse, he walked the second guy. But he looked good against the first three guys. Burk had a nice piece of hitting. Marte is on his way.

In a tight situation, yes, but in this game, no need.

Indians-White Sox Game Thread
Rios goes to left field and Aaron Rowand comes in to play center. I'd think the Sox would bring in Olivo or Paul to catch to give Sandy some rest.

NBA Predictions
Kings will go the distance. My guess is they play Indy.

I swear that ball was gone. You can just see how the ball is dying due to the cold and wind. A warm day that one is way out.

Only like 106 pitches. He's done though. Bring in Glover and let him get some work in. I'd also give Flash some work. I say an inning for each.

Well if they are titlelist range balls, we'd be fools not to make the trade

we better take advantage now..i dont think the tribe will be down too long gotta find some pitching though I think pitching is what will keep them around 3rd in the division for a while. I like Baez and Rodriguez, but C.C. is gonna be gone for a while and I am not familiar with their other guys.

Konerko crushed one to the track in dead center, but Bradley hauls it in. 6-1 Sox entering the bottom of the 7th!

Maggs strikes out looking. The strike three pitch was inside and directly over the chalk (NOT A STRIKE), but oh well. Come on Konerko. Thomas had a basehit that he ripped up the middle. Showed quick hands and a nice stroke.
