As a resident member of the Soxnet.net Minor League Staff.......... I know a litte bit on good ol ruddy.... He can field excellentely, and run like no-other.......... but scouts believe that his hitting is too weak to last in the majors...... So he might be Royce with speed. However, I think alot of it has to do with him still developing as a man...... he's definitely gotta hit the gym though...... Well, Yan is one of my favorite, "not so well known guys" in the Sox minor league organizations. I really do like this guy to Luis Castillo. He's very good at making contact and spraying the ball, but he has to keep working, get a little strong and continue to hit liners and grounders. If all goes well he could turn into a solid .270-.280 hitter and he has a solid eye, although he'll have to improve that as well. If this guy can put up a .350 obp he'll be an excellent second baseman and leadoff hitter or nine hole hitter. I think Yan will do it. He could turn into a real good hitter, he could never develop enough. Got to wait and see how he does at higher levels. This guy is faster then Wee Willie though or at least from what I've read thats what they say.

We like to make it easy on our viewers/readers. They don't have to go searching all over the place for recaps or anything. Plus, most teams webpages don't have the recaps or anything like that on their team. We like to think that our recaps have more info then you can get on the main teams pages as well.

I'm looking to get a laptop and am wondering what kind would be good? I know more about desktop computers then notebooks so for those out their that are laptop/computer savy what do you recommend? I notice Gateway had some good prices on laptops, but I didn't really think they are known for them. Oh ya, I know the Mac things are good, but I want to stay PC Thanks for the help

Ya, I heard about it last night.

As long as the Sox are only playing him a max of 3 of every 5 games then I'm happy. If we play Sandy any more then his knees will be toast and he will be on and off the dl all season. When that happens you can't get into a groove offensively and he's wasted space. That being said I'm all for this as long as Manuel does this the right way and I have confidence that he will. Olivo will get plenty of time and this is going to be a great learning experience for him to the point that next year he will be well versed and ready to handle the job, full time.

Clujer, great post. I have that same feeling every time the Sox lose, but right now I know that they are going to win a whole lot more then they lose. My logic to it is simple, the Sox have a very good ball club, one that is better then almost all in baseball and as long as we make the playoffs and are amongst the best in baseball then we have a shot. I believe this team is built to suceed over the long haul. They have very few weaknesses. One is the question with the staff now that Wright is hurt and the other is the question of having such a righty dominated lineup. Otherwise, we have two ace pitchers, two potential aces that are pretty proven middle of the rotation guys (Wright/Garland) and then two guys that I think can provide innings and keep us in games (Stewart/Loaiza). We got an amazing bullpen with two great setup men (Tom and Marte) a great closer and then some damn good middle guys and a very good lefty specialist. We also have plenty of depth in the minors. We have a deep bench with 4 guys that can produce off the bench (Olivo - defensively), Graffy, Daubach, and Rios - offensively) and then we have as almost all know an above average offense. Ya a few guys have struggled, but offenses tend to struggle early in the season and Flash is a guy that is better when its warmer. Not using it as an excuse though, while White is getting things straightened out. This is a very good team and they will finish as a playoff team and in my mind they will win the series.

Well, I've got PLENTY of great pictures of him at the place. I COULD spare one, but it's gonna cost a bunch! I take it the ball was already in the mitt on all the pictures you got of him Ummm, the picture I've got of him on my wall here in my dorm room is one of him looking out as he hits one of his many home runs! But, see, Jason. Carlos and I have a nice stash of pictures in our sacred box. NOBODY gets to go into that box. Michelle, I can't see KW making phone calls to Jerry during the game telling him who to put in. If thats the case then this organization absolutely blows and they will truly never win until they are all far away from Chicago. maybe they should just cut the phone cord in the dugout....then jerry could run his team like he should...........but i will say this, after maggs homer tonite he did get off his ass and go out to discuss the umps desire to not rule it a homer at first..................so he does move once in a while...... Well since I was mistaken on him not coming out on the earlier call, I will take back my comments to a point. Still I meant what I said about Carlos. Agreed, he did a good job on the homer by Maggs. I do think that when a manager isn't vocal often it is good, because when they say something, everyone listens. Like if Bowa came up to me, I'd pretty much ignore his entire speil and if I heard a swear word, I'd just eject him. (Thats if I was an ump)

im all for dumping lee...im not sure about konerko..but if we did what you suggest then that money better go towards picking up maggs option and resigning bartolo long term good question...if we could only afford to keep one..who would it be..konerko or colon??? btw..dominant damaso just finished of the 9 little indians Colon, no doubt about it. Pitching wins games. You can find first baseman that could put up similar numbers to Konerko for less money. I'm one of Konerkos biggest fans (Been following him since he was a Dodger) but first baseman are easy to find. You could have someone like Derrick Lee and in our offense he'd be very good and defensively he's very good. You could even get someone like Eric Karros (For Cheap after this season) and have him put up similar production in a good lineup, imo. Having an ace pitcher is what its all about. Look through the majors and any team with pitching will compete, no matter how crappy their offense is. Thats why the Cubs will likely compete this season, even though they may have the worse offense in baseball and without Sammy, potentially the worse offense in the history of baseball. Think of it this way, take PK a way and you play Daubach at 1st, how much production do u really lose? Now take Colon away and insert Rauch into the rotation and how much production do you lose? Our rotation would be so weak (I know the potential is their, but potential means crap when it comes to competing/winning; production is what matters)

I tend to agree with you. I think he's going to be one of those guys that you start off in the pen for a year. Then you move him to the rotation eventually in the next season and then that following year he really turns into a good starter. I think he'll be productive pretty much the whole way, but one of those guys you work through slowly. Just like I think he will not be on the roster next year until September as he'll have about a year and a half in AAA.

Hopefully him and Koch will be a great duo for years to come. I absolutely love Damaso. Throws strikes and has two nasty pitches and I kind of think of his slider like two pitches. A break sweeper and a hard and tight one.

Thank goodness we had Marte. And to think, I was wondering why we were getting him up to start the inning. Nice call JM
