  1. Yeah, I'm a newbie too, so I'm not really sure what to expect when the games start to count. But, I'll still do the updates as long as I can and as long as they are wanted. During the regular season it is typically the same way. Someone usually will fill in with updates and stuff. The chatroom is also always open as well, but the best way for updates for everyone is via the board so people can catch up on it that aren't there the whole time. Of course the board is a whole lot bigger this season that it was for parts of last season
  2. ...curious....how much do you guys have to filter out, anyway?....I mean, how many Cub/Tribe/Twinkie fans try to come on a f*** with the boards? Pretty much none. We really do stick to our stance that we never have to delete any posts. I think we have deleted like 10 posts in the entire time the board has been opened.
  3. The new boards will continue to be like all others because the awesome Sox fans that post on them will still be there. Its you guys that make these boards rock. I think we got the smartest Sox fans on the net here. Tons of intelligent on topic conversation and then anything you want to discuss in the off topic area. Things will be no different with the switch. We'll still be running the board like always and we don't anticipate any garbage from other teams posters.

    Tie

Searching for a link that will most likely only give you the score, and if you're lucky tell you who did well in the game while I slaved for 3 hours doing a hitter-by-hitter recap of what happened as it happened? I'm hurt. And yes, the Sox were down 4-1 and 6-4, and managed to come back and earn a tie in 11 innings. Clujer rocks at his updates.
  5. I think its Scott Morgan.
  6. and Koch has pitched real good while Neal Cotts had one good game one bad one.
  7. Nope. Our crack team of admins will stay as leniant as it gets with our posters, but we'll oust any and all trolls that come over to start crap. Now if they just want to talk civilized baseball, thats cool, otherwise they'll get whiped out immediately, if there are any.
  8. This is great news she's alive. I think there are going to be some twists to this saga.
  9. Once again awesome job Clujer. This recaps rule. I can keep up with the game a bit while I'm at work; I truly love it
  10. Damn that rotation looks sweet. Garland is going to have a great season this year I think. Now I need to know Wright is alright. Hopefully we have most of these guys around for a long long time. I think the Sox will lose one of their dh's (lee or Thomas) and they will use the extra money to reup longterm with Colon. Then use the rest of their money bringing guys back. Going longterm with Maggs, giving Buerhle his deal, maybe going 3 or 4 yrs with Garland. The payroll will go up a bit, probably 5-10 million and they would also add another outfielder or something.
  11. The fact was he wants the 4th year guaranteed. Thats the final hurdle left.
  12. I'm feeling things the same way. He pitched awesome late last season though, so we'll see, but I'd have him on a short/tight rope.
  13. White has really sucked thus far in spring. I think the Sox will have him on a tight rope when he starts the season. He is a vet so he'll get the benefit of the doubt, but we may just have 3 lefties in the pen if he struggles with Munoz or Sanders replacing him or righty Almone could come in.
  14. I agree with him when he talks about Rolen. Thats exactly who I've compared him to and will continue to do so. Crede just has to work more on a consistent release point on his throws, cause sometimes they aren't too accurate.
  15. Ok Jim. I'm a former pitcher. Not saying I'm great, but I think I know a good amount on mechanics whether its pitching or a swing. What Nardi did wrong mainly came to his philosphy of talking to the pitchers. He was a yell at them type of guy and was notorious for going off and just ripping the young pitchers. Ripping doesn't do them a damn thing good if he isn't able to explain how to improve and all it does it make them feel like they don't have a friend in the pitching coach whom they can consult when it comes to throwing a certain pitch or something else. Pitching coaches are kind of like mentors in a sense. They really tutor guys along, showing them the ropes and the pitchers got to really get along with them because these guys can look and analyze your stuff to help you. If you got a question you can go to them, they'll look at film and try to make minor adjustments. They can also help with you on a new pitch and are pretty much there whenever you need them. They also help you with pitching philopshy. They can say hey, next type try this or become more agressive with your stuff. When Cooper came in, he was more a philosphy type guy who didn't really want to make huge adjustments in guys deliveries. He wanted to change their mindset, since 90% of the game or whatever is mental. He preached agressive pitching, where our guys would attack the hitters. He knew our pitchers had great stuff, they had to just be confident about it and pitch not aim. Now he did make some adjustments, but from what I know most of the adjustments he made were with Ritchie. When it came to the other guys it was more a mental approach or just telling them some minor things to improve action on a pitch or something along those lines. I can't comment more on what he did, because I wasn't there listening into his stuff.
  16. Well the comissioner is getting inolved and is going to investigate Mesa on his comments of "killing him" or whatever he said.
  17. Damn was that a fun game to watch. It wasn't a lucky win, it was the Bulls beating the crap out of the defending world champs. Curry, Crawford, Rose, etc all played awesome. This team is getting real fun to watch since they made that lineup change a week or so ago.
  18. The Sox are going to be using a 5 man rotation the first week of the season. This is me going off the fact that Colon is the #2 starter and is also slated to pitch the Tribe's home opener.
  19. this is an omen that 2003 is CLee's gold glove year! Well..all kidding aside, he did make a very nice diving catch the other day on the WGN vs. the Cubs. He knows what he's doing out there sometimes. Lee is definately improving. The guys been working his butt off and I think we'll see great things out of him this year.
  20. Its still a good move for the Twins. Hopefully we kick Rogers butt in this year and kick the Twins butts as well.
  21. Will do. and take all your frustrations out on Mario, while I run to Cabo
